I just wanted to share that JC at the CB resort made my stay more magical last week. I was waiting at the concierge desk at 6:55 am last week to try to add a night to my vacation. I was ending a package on Wednesday and beginning a room only for 1 night. JC was able to get my room only discount extended for 1 additional night (thank you Lori in the back office) without having to change rooms. He then asked did I need any additional meals on my dining plan. I explained that I was fine that I was going to pay for one buffet at Crystal Palace that morning since we were a party of three and I had 2 meal credits left. He promptly added an additional meal and told me to have a magical day. I walked back to my room and the phone was ringing. It was JC and he explained that he had reviewed my remaining snacks and he didn't think I had enough. He added 3 additional ones so I could have 6 for my final day in the parks.

I realize that JC was doing his job in assisting me but he didn't have to go beyond and help me with additional credits. It made my stay all the more magical because someone took the time to unexpectly add some perks to my stay. It was also EARLY in the morning and he made me feel that making my stay more wonderful was the most important thing he needed to do that day. It was wonderful!!!

I am contacting WDW to commend JC and Lori on their help but I wanted to let the DIS know as well because I know some members are CMs. All the CMs I encountered on my stay were wonderful and I appreciate what you do each day!

"so he added all those credits to you for free for what reason?"

I don't think there was a reason. I think it was one of those disney moments when a CM just does something special (room upgrade, etc.)

I have seen stories here on the board and just wanted to share what happened to me.

Glad to read about your 'pixie dust' moment. It's often the unexpected that can make a visit extra memorable. And thank you for sending off that note of praise for the CM.

so he added all those credits to you for free for what reason?

It was just some random pixie dust. CMs are allowed/encouraged/even given a task to do that on occasion. They can't always throw around the pixie dust but it's cool when it happens to you for no reason at all!

room upgrades yes I can get that but actual credits on her dining plan i do not. I forgot to book my dining within the three day before arrival window and was told it was too late even though i was paying for it, so how could i not get the dining plan i wanted but she got credits immediately?

It's random - it's just the way it is - not a matter of regular occurence. These things can and do happen and no one is getting in trouble over it. It's right on the computer that the CM did it - it's not like they are hiding it from anyone. In all of the areas of Disney there are ways that magic can seem to happen (and it's pretty much in the budget). Some places the magic has a monetary value, other places it's a time saver, other places it's an perceived value.

How wonderful! I think it's so nice when Disney CMs have the discretion to spread some magic. :)

Just another disturbing example of how it is "all about me".

OP thanks for sharing your special occurence. I am glad you had a special moment.

 When my DDs were young I would occasionally hear the whiny " How come she got xyz and I didn't. IT'S NOT FAIR!!!" At which point we would sit down and have a little heart to heart about life...

I bet the cm gets in trouble when she raves to disney about her "pixie" dust

sour grapes?

Perfectly stated! (And I have those chats with my kiddos; luckily with age the talks seem to be fewer and farther between). :)

Why? Things like that happen all the time at Disney.

On our trip 2 weeks ago, for various reasons (room issues and sick kids), we ended up with 2 comped nights and 3 free tickets to MVMCP. When I booked a second reservation at a different resort with only one day notice to extend our trip, I was able to add the DxDP and they moved our remaining DxDP credits from the first part of our stay to the second reservation.

And to top it off, the CM at the concierge desk told my son to grab the end of her sticker roll and run as far as he could and that's how many stickers he'd get. :)

I have had very good experiences with Disney customer service.

OP, congratulations on the pixie dust!

Aww.. see.. that's the stuff I love about Disney.. even when it doesn't happen to me!

In fact, on one trip a while back, we were in line at Jungle Cruise and there was a little boy in front of us who was clearly dying to sit right up in the front of the boat. He wanted to be the 'lookout' .. ? :)

As we approached the head of the line, I whispered to a CM at the 'spider box' about the young boy's stated desire.

He tipped off the loading crew and they made the boy an 'honorary jungle cruise skipper and sat him right up front on 'lookout'.

It was SOOO worth doing simply because the boy's mother and father had NO idea how it had come to pass. :)

Thanks for the awesome feedback! Just letting you know I passed this on to JC and Lori's leaders! :thumbsup2

I think it's great that the OP got pixie dusted the way she did!
Thinking back to our summer trip, we may have been pixie dusted at Cinderella's Royal Table. The CM only charged us 4 credits instead of 8. We were on the DxDP. It was my birthday and DH ordered a Cinderella Slipper dessert and a specialty cake for me, so I don't know if it was all the hoopla or just pixie dust, but it was nice having 4 extra dining credits. ;)

I never expect the pixie dusted moments and when/if they happen, they're that much more magical.

:)
