Well, we did it.

We successfully put on a wedding, said our I do’s, and didn’t kill each other on our honeymoon.

We DID however eat ourselves silly! We were married on 12/1, flew out to WDW on 12/2, and ate more food than we ever dreamed possible until the sad, sad day we returned on 12/14.

Here’s some backstory, over at the pre-trip thread I whipped up: right here!

Our itinerary stayed relatively close to what I outlined in our pre report, with some minor deviations.

We’ll start with a picture of the newly married couple, fully prepared to enjoy 11 days in the Happiest Place on Earth.

So hang on tight, buckle those safety belts, and keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times, because we’ve got a LOT of reviewing to do.

First up: Flight day, with a little surprise (and let down) at the airport.

AWAY WE GO!

I'm totally in for this! I can't wait to read some of your reviews, especially your review on the bread pudding rivalry! I totally agree with you that the bread pudding at 'Ohana is the best most heavenly thing to be devoured in Disney World! :goodvibes

Well, I had four different varieties of bread pudding on this vacation, and I will say, it became a close battle. I won't reveal who won this round yet though. :thumbsup2

Will you, at least, share which other two places you had bread pudding at? This is going to be a good trip report!

I suppose I could...

We had breakfast bread pudding at Sunshine Seasons, Sweet Potato Bread Pudding at Jiko, and Ger's Bread and Butter Pudding at Raglan Road.

12/02

We rushed our newly married butts off this day. After a glorious morning of breakfast in bed with a few glasses of champagne, we hurried home for a quick regrouping, and then it was off to the airport. If you read through my pre trip report, I had the revelation that there was an Earl of Sandwich at the Philadelphia airport. I just couldn’t pass up the chance to start the trip off with the sandwich that everyone on here raves about; The Holiday Sandwich.

I practically tore Christina’s arm off getting to this place, and behold, we found it!

I hurried to the counter, and just about shouted to the man behind the counter that I wanted the Holiday Sandwich, and pronto. Lo and behold, it was not to be. He informed me that this location doesn’t serve the fabled sandwich. I was a little heartbroken, but I knew there’d be another chance after we, you know, actually began our vacation. I opted not to eat here, but Christina wasn’t deterred. She opted for the “Best BLT” sandwich.

She did allow me a bite or two though, the giving wife that she is. This was a really, REALLY good BLT. Crispy bacon, fresh veggies, warm, fresh bread, it had it all. Although I don't know if I'd go as far as saying it was the best BLT I’ve ever tasted, but it was up there. Christina felt pretty similarly. I was pretty surprised that it wasn't a little pricier either. A good option for a quick bite. Stay tuned for some more Earl of Sandwich goodness later on in the trip.

We had a pretty uneventful flight (thankfully) to Orlando.

Christina ordered a hot tea.

I was tempted to order a stiff drink, but there wasn’t enough turbulence to put me into “I need some assistance with this flight” mode. :goodvibes

That night we picked up our car, food shopped at Walmart, and checked into our hotel. By that time, our original plan of heading to Downtown Disney was discarded, as it was already after 10pm. We hit the hay and decided to wake up early for a trip to the Animal Kingdom.

Stay tuned.

Congrats! The bride looks gorgeous. I love her bouquet! Such a cute idea to go with grayscale colors :goodvibes

Looking forward to the reviews. Your itinerary looked smashing. :thumbsup2

Thanks! She made the bouquet herself, and similar ones for all of the bridesmaids.

I didn't want a black tuxedo, it felt too "normal."

First off congrats on the wedding!!! I so wish I could have done my honeymoon in WDW. EOS looks so yummy, I can't wait to hear more about the trip.

I'm in! Love the wedding picture. It was a wonderful day when I finally found the fabled EoS in PHL. Makes having to deal with that airport just a little bit more tolerable!
