Cabin for 5 people, how will we all fit?

Hi, we are a brand new family of five and will be sailing in 2014. I have booked cabin 9158 in the dream and wonders if anyone has pictures of the beds are arranged? Does cabin 9158 have a pull down AND a drop down berth?

You may want to try and book two cabins. It usually cost just a little more and then you have two bathrooms and more closet/storage space. If you have a balcony room and you feel your kids a would do OK book a cabin across the hall, the inside cabins usually don't cost as much.

A cabin for 5 will have the big bed (2 people), the couch bed (1), the drop from the ceiling bunk (1), and the murphy bed (drop from the wall 1).

You might look at getting connecting rooms--it will give you a lot more space and can sometimes be a very little more cost. I suggested this to someone last week and she found she could book 2 cabins for $113 more than the one cabin! And she doubled her various on board credits (disney visa, on line booking, and TA). 2 rooms will increase you space, double closets, TVs, bathrooms, etc. You pay for 2 adults in each cabin regardless of the age of the second person and you must BOOK one adult in each, but no one cares who SLEEPS where. It works well for some families.

What ship are you sailing on? It will be crowded for 5 unless the kids are small. We can help if you post a little more information about your ship...2 cabins will also have 2 bathrooms!

We will be sailing on the Dream with an 11 yr old, an almost 3 yr old and an almost 2 year old.

We have sailed twice before on the Wonder and Magic but this will be the first time with 3 kids.... That's why I was wondering.

We used points to book our cruise and didn't think to book 2 rooms.... So no on board credits

We had a category 8C on the Dream earlier this year and we thought it was plenty big for 5! You can see some pictures if you scroll down on my trip report:

There was a lot of storage space, so with 5 people staying organized is key. We had just stayed in one room at Caribbean Beach Resort prior to this cruise, and we thought our cabin on the Dream was much more organized. And we were hardly in our cabin anyways--just in the morning, maybe 1-2 hours in the afternoon, and then before bed.

Five of our six Disney cruises have all been with 5 people (3 adults, 1 teen, 1 child) in a stateroom. I know many people here suggest getting 2 rooms but we have always done fine with one (we are in a cat. 4A for our upcoming Fantasy cruise). We spend very little time in the stateroom and most of the time one or two people are out on the verandah anyway.

When my kids were 2 and 3, they would have slept in the same (twin) bed, so we'd have either used the sofa or the murphy, but not both. The 11 year old would have been in the bunk.

I think with those ages one room would work better.

As a family of four we sailed on the Dream in a family deluxe verandah room. We had so much room! There was 3 beds for the kids one of which we didn't use. I think with your kids ages you could fit in one of these rooms easily. If your kids are like mine one ends up in bed with you anyways! lol
I think with the ages of your kids its doable and two staterooms just seems to be a lot of extra cost. Good luck!

I did it on the Wonder cat 4A, I felt it was tight.
Last cruise on the Wonder we had 2 connecting staterooms for basically same price but I got 2x OBC, 2x CC gift, 2 bathrooms, 2x TVs, lots of storage and room.

For our upcoming cruise I also booked 2 connecting room.

Here is a picture of the kids beds pulled down. The third bed would be the one behind the chair if it was pulled out. This was cabin 10096 on the Dream a family deluxe verandah room.

With children those ages, you will be just fine in one room.
I think using two rooms works better when you have people fighting for bathroom time to get ready, etc.

We are doing the two room (4B and 11 across the hall) on the Fantasy next year but that is because we are taking DD's BFF with us. So having a non-family member teen in addition to me and DD trying to get ready....just not worth it to have only one room

I travelled this summer with my four sons , 15,18,20 and 27 on the Dream. We stayed in a category 4A , one room for all of us .. We like the verandah option so doing two inside cabins was not something that interested us. We were a little concerned about space prior to going but honestly , it worked out great . I would not hesitate to do it again ...

I traveled last year in a 4A on the dream with my mom amd 3 teenagers. We had plenty of room and are doing it again in March with DH instead of DM. Mom packs like she is leaving for a month and we still were fine! We love being together in a beautiful room with a verandah.
