Can I buy a 2-park ticket and add on Express Unlimited at the gate?

Hello,

My gf and I (we are both in our mid-20's) are going to Orlando for four days. This is our first time. My gf is a huge Harry Potter fan and I am excited about many of the rides at US and IOA.

We want to do both parks on Sunday 12/16 and use the Express Unlimited option to not wait on any lines.

Unfortunately pricing on the US website is about $400 for the two of us!!

Suppose I were to buy 2 discounted both-parks tickets on eBay or from a discounter? Would we be able to go to the gate on Sunday morning and pay the retail-rate to add on the Express Unlimited passes? Or to get Express Unlimited do we have to buy the entire package (park entrance + EU) at the gate?

Thank you!!

I would wait till you get there and see how busy it is. Crowd calendar shows dec 16 as a slow day, so you may not need the express pass.

I'm almost positive you can just buy the Express Pass at the gate, but I wouldn't buy your tickets off of Ebay. Seriously risky!

I hear you, but I found a seller with over 4,000 feedback, 99.9% positive in the Orlando area who has 2-park tickets for about 20% off. I'm willing to take the risk if I pay with Paypal. Worst that can happen is the ticket is invalid and I have to file a chargeback with my credit card company.

I saw the crowd calendar shows this as a slow day, which I'm very happy about.

I realize this might be sort of "pushing it" but we are going to try and do both parks in one day. We would skip the kid's rides and really just want to do HPWW and the rest of the rides. I felt like getting the express pass will make that a lot easier, but do you think we should be able to get through everything without?

Thanks! We are very excited

Doubtful you'll even need express pass at that time. Don't purchase it before you actually go into the park and find out how the lines are.

Doing both parks in one day, I think the express could be worth it, especially if you want to check out the shows and relax some. But as everyone else is saying, I'd wait till you get inside of the parks (not the gates). You'll be able to check out wait times for all of the attractions once inside and then can go inside one of the shops to buy express if you think you'll need them.

consider using the single rider lines that day in the parks if the lines are longer than you wish to wait.

Another option is to stay onsite for one night, which gets you early admission to IOA and includes the Unlimited Express Pass...

What if he gets pretty deep inside the park and then notices the lines are getting longer and longer, does he now have to go all the way back to the front gates to add this Fast Pass on?

EPs are sold throughout both parks at various gift shops so a trip back to the front gate is not required.

Isnt harry potter not part of the express pass? So that would be a wait you have to do anyway as well as the coaster in the studios

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, the motion simulator, does not have Express access. However the two other rides in the Wizarding World- Flight of the Hippogriff and Dragon Challenge- do have Express entrances :thumbsup2

Forbidden Journey and the Ollivander's show are not part of Express Pass.

Dragon Challenge and Hippogriff ARE part of it.

Isn't the OP talking about the special Unlimited Express Pass "bundle"? I find info on it on their tickets page, down at the bottom. I'm not sure that *that* could be upgraded to like buying the normal Express Pass.

"This Park-to-Park with Unlimited Express Ticket allows you to bypass the regular lines an unlimited amount of times by providing Express Access to most attractions at both Universal Studios Florida AND Universal's Islands of Adventure theme parks on the selected calendar day(s)."

You're right but there is also an unlimited EP that is sold only at the parks and it's separate from the bundle you saw. It's one of the seldom advertised tickets. The unlimited EP might have to be purchased at the gate but I'm not 100% sure.

aha! Good to know. Especially since it's seldom advertised. :)
