BOG is too nice

We went to the check in booth at 3:30 yesterday for our 4:00 reservations. It was raining out and they would not let us in the building until 3:45. We watched a constant flow of people get turned away from the bridge and at least 50 people told that the restaurant is booked until June. It is so nice to look at that it is really as much an attraction as the rides and shows. It is weird to see someone guarding the entrance to a restaurant at Disney. Once we made it in ,everything was perfect.

Not sure what you meant about BOG being too nice. :confused3 As for having someone "guarding" the entrance- it's not unique. There are a few places in the world where there is (at times) an outdoor podium to check in for your ADR. It prevents large crowds from clogging up the entry way in some of the restaurants. We've seen this at Le Cellier, La Hacienda, and Rose and Crown on numerous occasions. Stands to reason that with the tremendous curiosity surrounding this new restaurant that they would do something similar. Whether they will continue this at BOG after the initial interest dies down, we'll have to wait and see.

From what we understand, there is a permanent check in (building) right at the end of the bridge. Dinner guests have to check in there and wait until they are called into the castle for their ressie.

At lunch, we just lined up on the bridge to near the castle door.

It's not booked until June, LOL! I just called and got several times for our week in April.

Be Our Guest is the hardest reservation to get right now. I am not surprised that there is nothing available just a couple of weeks out, especially for the busiest week of the year at WDW. That week has been booked solid since August when reservations opened.

That said, you can still eat there. Lunch is quick service and no reservations are taken. You may have to wait in line for 30 minutes or more but most have said the line moves pretty quickly.

There may be some random openings, but we just booked for a day during our June vacation and there was nothing left for lunch and only 4:55 and 7:00 available for dinner.

This amazed me since technically we're still over 180 days out and I was only able to book because of the onsite booking advantage.

Well, there wouldn't be anything available to book for lunch, since it is CS at lunch. You can only make ADRs for TS meals- which is dinner only at BOG.

I have been trying every day for over a month to change my BOG reservation. I haven't seen one ADR available for the week we will be there (1/25-1/31). In fact, I had shortened our vacation (we were originally staying until 2/1) so that we were going to be checking out on 1/30. When I realized I couldn't get into BOG any other night for dinner I called and added a day back on to our vacation. The lunch does not really appeal to me. I am very excited about this ADR! :goodvibes

Today we got in line for BOG lunch at about 1015. We were about a dozen back on the bridge. They began letting us in at quarter to 11 to stand inside. Took our order at about 11 and were eating five minutes later. The wait wasn't bad for us. Later we walked by at about one pm and we heard them tell people it was about an hour wait. So, like everything else get there early.

What I meant by Too Nice is that it seems to draw more people than some of the attractions. There are so many people that see it for the first time and want to eat dinner there only to be disappointed when they find out it is booked so far ahead.

It has nothing to do with being nice and everything to do with being new. Everyone wants to try it out.

I think that is what is so nice about keeping the lunch CS with no ADRs, anyone can eat there tomorrow that wants to, they don't have to wait for months like at some of the high demand TS locations.

It gets to stay both a sought after exclusive ADR and an accessible location to go try and check out for a newbie.
