Sandy Concert, You Watching?

Nope I'm not and I won't. When Irene nailed VT we didn't get any concerts. I've sent stuff down to NJ via local trucks that I knew the drivers and radio stations involved so it's not that I don't feel bad for them we've lived through it. I have friends that their families graves are still missing.....

I agree, their have been numerous disasters in other parts of the country that don't get televised concerts/fundraisers.

:sad2:

Wow...what's the matter with the two of you? I mean you won't? Why, you don't have to donate to listen to good music :confused3

No one says you have to donate. I mean I am not donating anything. I have a roof to fix. And Irene destroyed my basement last year with over 30k of damages, and my insurance only covered 1/3 of that. I am more annoyed at my town for what they didn't do then for my town vs their bending over backwards now for Sandy.. but still, that doesn't mean I am not going to watch a concert or be like poor me or whoever why didn't someone do something for them :confused3.

I really don't understand that attitude at all. There are organizations that pull together for other disasters. Is the North East supposed to apologize for having so many celebrities wanting to help? Most of them have home's in NY and are from the area and still live here. They want to help fix THEIR city/state and this is the way they are doing it.

Geez... were is your sympathy??

Watching! This is so amazingly special and FILLED with the greatest talent. :goodvibes

Damn, Jon Bon Jovi just keeps getting better with age! *throb*

Funny, my 15 year old DD was asking if it was wrong that she thinks he is cute, I told her he is the same age as her father.
A friend in town said her son saw him on the concert and asked if he drove a Hummer as he saw him in town, he didn't know who he was. Guess I have to pay more attention to the drivers of Hummers in town.

The censors must be pulling their hair out tonight, hitting the button three seconds too late after every swear word. :happytv:

Exactly! Oh boo hoo my state didn't get a fundraising concert. cry cry. Now I will not help others. That is ridiculous.

I completely caught this too! :scared1:
"That word" on live TV!
Didn't realize how much I still love The Who....

I have been on hold for 30 minutes trying to donate. Don't ask me why I'm calling, I think it's so I have the chance to speak to a celebrity :rotfl:. I just got through to a "Jennifer" ... I don't know if she was famous but she was nice ::yes::.

I answered the other thread and missed this one!

I've liked most of the concert so far. Some of these old guys can really go still.

ETA... IMO, some people ought to quit complaining about what they did or didn't get. Different time, different place. It's good to enjoy some good music and maybe help someone that might have helped others before.

I try not to be too judgemental on here but seriously? The NYC metropolitan area contains 40% of the U.S population - about 18.9 million people. The whole state of Vermont has 629,000 people. Yes, disaster victims everywhere deserve help but don't you think that the resources needed to help 18.9 million people are much, much bigger than the resources needed to help several counties in a state that only has 629,000?

I'm sorry for your friends who still have family graves missing but in the NY area there are an estimated 40,000 who have missing homes.

In most disasters the federal and state government have the resources to help get people back to a basic standard of living (even if not perfect) but in this case, like Katrina, the disaster is unprecedentaed in scope.

Hey lighten up . . . it's not our problem that Trey and the band couldn't get some of their friends to do a bennie for Irene.

I switched from Häagen-Dazs to Ben and Jerry's just to help all y'all out. I stopped drinking beer from Brooklyn Brewery in favor of Long Trail for the same reason.
