The link I posted above stopped working last night. Now it's showing $199 vs $149 I got earlier in the day. The regular bestbuy.com website still has it for $149, but I don't think you'd get the bonus 5,000 points (aka $100 gift certificate).

In order to get the 500 + 4500 reward points one had to order through bestbuy's rewardzonemobile link. Still a good deal either way you order it.

We are upgrading my sons regular ole phone to an iPhone 4s, so when I got the email I was very happy. I can't tell but does anyone know if this is good in Best Buy stores also? We need to go to a store because my phone is due for a upgrade so we need to transfer the upgrade to my sons number. (we have done this in the past). Also DH won a gift card so am I correct in assuming we could use the GC to purchase the phone?

personally, no. I upgraded from the 3 after holding out and got the 4s. It's the same operating system as the 5. Screen isn't as large. But I think you'll have less problems finding accessories like docking devices with the change to the port on the 5 from previous models.

We got a 4s and 5 from Best Buy last week before the sale and went into the store Monday and they matched the deal for us. So money coming to our pocket that we didn't expect!!

Just so those of you buying 4G Phones (Iphone5/Droid Razr Maxx etc) as christmas gifts know, if you pick up the phone in store at Best Buy you are required to activate them at time of pick up. Found this out yesterday when we went to pick up the phones we ordered for our boys. Our choice was to activate them now and then deactivate them before we left the store (this would put the kids current phones out of service for at least a short period). We could then put them under the tree and go back to the store after christmas to activate them again. Issue here is that the second activation would require a new SIM card (whatever that is) which costs around $30 although after speaking to a manage he did offer to "comp" the new SIM cards. We ended up just leaving the phones there until closer to christmas (we have til the 20th to pick them up) and then we will just go activate them then. Our boys are 21 and 15 so it's no big deal but we would still like to be able to give them to them on Christmas day as we always have in the past when we upgraded directly through Verizon. The deal is too good to pass up though so we will deal with it. Getting one Iphone 5 for the $149 plus a $25 Gift Card deal we got in an email and getting a Droid Razr Maxx for $0.00 and getting 5000 Rewards points which equals $100 Gift Card. For the 5000 points you have to order through BestBuyMobile website.

I think the activation depends on the store. I say this because we were given the choice of activating ours in the store or just taking them with us

Possibly ur right, I wish we were given the choice but we weren't even after speaking to the mobile manager. He said because the phones are 4G they have a SIM card which has to be activated at that time. He said if they were 3G phones it wouldn't be an issue. I know it sounds weird, we have never bought a phone from BestBuy before (and not sure we would again) but we never had an issue when we dealt directly with Verizon.... guess it's the cost we must pay to get the deal.
