Greetings, and welcome to my second Trip Report.

:welcome:

We spent 7 nights at Coronado Springs Resort checking in on December 1 and checking out on December 8, but the trip actually lasted from November 30 through December 9 since we were driving. With as much stuff as we loaded up to travel with the kids, I can't imagine how we could fly. Our baggage fee would cost more than the tickets.:scared1: If you want to check out the PTR for this trip, you can find it here, otherwise just jump in anywhere.

The trip was to celebrate my parents' anniversary, which means it was more than just my small family on this trip. I guess this means I should get to the introductions.

Me - My name is Andy, I'm 31 years old and the father of 2 awesome kids. I've been to Disney World several times over the years, but I've been absolutely spoiled with 2 trips in the past 2 years. Typically I get to go no more often than every 3 or 4 years. I'll probably be going through some serious withdrawal this time next year. :lmao:
My favorite Disney movie is Peter Pan, my favorite character is Goofy, and my favorite ride is Rock 'n Rollercoaster.

DW - She enjoys our trips to Disney World, but nowhere near as much as I do. She'll want to go back to the room for a nap and actually relax, while I'm asking if I can ride about 5 more rides before we leave. She might as well get used to it now, because I'm sure DS will be the same way. :lmao:
Her favorite Disney movie is Tangled, her favorite character is Piglet and her favorite ride is Toy Story Mania.

DS - He is 2 years old and an absolute blast. We were worried about him on this trip, because in the time leading up to it, he started being scared of things he used to like. He was also not napping like he should recently and would wake up very grumpy, so we just had no idea what he'd be like this time. I'm happy to say that things went well. He is a toddler, so of course, not everything was perfect. I couldn't have asked for better behavior from him. His current favorite movie is Tangled. His favorite characters are Mickey, Rapunzel, Maximus, Bullseye, Pluto and Goofy. His favorite rides are Toy Story, the elephants, and Goofy's rollie coaster.

DD - She is 7 months old, so she spent more time riding in a stroller than riding on rides. I have to say that she handled it very well. The last couple of days, she had enough of the stroller and never wanted to get back in it, but she really was fantastic. She enjoyed seeing all the sights, and loved any of the characters that were willing to pay any attention to her.

My parents - Grandma and Grandpa - My mom is the reason I love Disney World as much as I do. I grew up going on trips there, and she was always the Disney addict of the family who brainwashed me. Dad always loves the trips, but he's more interested in just the family time than actually being at the parks. He used to always take me on the wild rides, but lately, he's become sensitive to motion sickness rides, and has been battling some back issues lately. With the exception of a couple of rides, if DD couldn't ride it, he wasn't going to ride.

Sis1 & BiL - My sis and Bil have been married a little over 2 years. Sis loves Disney World and has been several times. BiL hasn't been, and he didn't seem to sure about the idea before the trip. I tried to tell him it isn't just for kids and that there's a lot to do. I'm not sure he ever bought into that, but I think now that he's been there he gets it.

Also, Sis has a gluten allergy, and always likes the fact that Disney is so good about catering to food allergies. She can usually eat there better than she can anywhere else. Unfortunately, she learned a lesson about gluten free fries from counter service restaurants and spent a couple of days sick in her room. I'll get to this story later, but if you need to know details for an upcoming trip, PM me.

Sis 2 - She is the youngest by about a minute and is also Sis 1's twin. She is the adventurous one. She's like me, and wants to ride the wild rides and stay in the parks from Rope Drop until closing time. There were a few times we left the park so that we could get the kids in bed and Sis 2 was still there going strong.

That's the cast, so I guess it's about time to get down to business. The TR will focus on myself, DW and the kids. I basically planned the trip and decided which parks to do on what days. For the most part everyone else followed our lead and went with us anyway, but at the end of the week, after Sis 1 missed a couple of park days, they started going different directions trying to catch things she missed.

Oh, and there was one evening BiL and I were turned loose on EPCOT for a few hours. :rolleyes1

For any of you who have followed my PTR, you have probably already seen this, but we had some camera difficulties, so I apologize in advance for the quality of the pictures you'll see. Something was wrong with our camera, and it would literally drain batteries within about 5 minutes. DW noticed it on Thanksgiving, but our rechargeable batteries and charger are several years old, so we assumed that was the problem and replaced them before our trip. It soon became apparent that the camera was the problem and it did the same with any new alkaline batteries we bought and put in it. We were able to use it when we knew we'd be taking pictures, like for character meets. Most of the pictures I'll have for this TR will be of the crappy cell phone variety though. My mom did get a Photopass CD, so I'll have to see if there are any pictures I can use there.

That's all I have time for now, but thanks for coming along for the ride! Let's get loaded up and ready to go.

I have to admit - It was the name that caught my attention! But then I clicked and realized I've seen your username around the boards quite a bit. So here I am with a sub!

Great start. You have me wondering about the "gluten free" fries. Where they really gluten free or just prepared really, really badly. I guess I'll have to stick around to find out.

And Kudos to you for traveling with two little kids. My DH and I are driving for the first time this summer. It should be interesting, to say the least. Our two nephews, 13 and 12, will be driving with us. I'm taking them as a buffer, just in case. :rotfl2:

Jumping in too. Any title with a bar in it has me hooked.... :rotfl2:

I'm here...will catch up tomorrow. And we finally had "quiet" on Sunday night.:headache:

I'm joining in! So glad y'all had a safe trip! And I can't wait to hear how fun it was, too! :goodvibes

I'll be back to comment later, but I just wanted to share a link to my review of Test Track on Disdads.com

There are some pictures and spoilers in there, so if you don't want to know some of the details of the new queue and attraction, don't click the link. If you're curious about the changes, then check it out. :thumbsup2

I'm in and ready to crack wise on all of your adventures! :thumbsup2

Sorry for the camera troubles. I guess crappy cell phone pictures are better than none at all.

Yes, we seem to roam several of the same TR's. I see a lot of familiar names, but it it always hard to add more to follow and still keep up with everyone!

The fries, were indeed, gluten free. It seems to be more of a preparation issue in counter service restaurants, but we'll get to that later.

Good luck on the drive. We've always done it, and while I like flying if I travel by myself, it is so much easier to drive when we're all going somewhere.

Jumping in to read along!
:welcome: Thanks for joining!

Jumping on board. Great title Andy!
:welcome: Hi Glenn. I'm glad you approve.

Jumping in too. Any title with a bar in it has me hooked.... :rotfl2:
:welcome: Is anybody else starting to get thirsty? It's 5 o'clock somehwere...

I'm here...will catch up tomorrow. And we finally had "quiet" on Sunday night.:headache:
:welcome: I'm glad you had a "quiet" night. I know it isn't the resort's fault, but I'm not sure we love your CSR as much as you do. :rotfl2:

:welcome: We definitely had a lot of fun!

checking in Andy...... :thumbsup2
:welcome: Glad to have you here, Scott!

Here! Team Tim REPRESENT!!!!

Now back to read. :coffee:
:welcome: Team Barry sucks!

I'm in and ready to crack wise on all of your adventures! :thumbsup2

Sorry for the camera troubles. I guess crappy cell phone pictures are better than none at all.
:welcome: I guess it's fair. It isn't like I don't make wise cracks about everything you post.

The crappy cell phone pics are better than nothing I guess. That's what all the Test Track pics were and some of them aren't too bad.:confused3

:welcome:
You need one of these :drinking1 to go with that popcorn::

Will there be baby pictures in this TR?
:welcome: Yes. Yes there will.

Depends. Does Andy have any pictures of you? :confused3
Hey, I'm going to have a hard enough time keeping readers without having pictures of Barry to scare them all off.

Count me in.
:welcome: Good to have you here, Justin!

Hiding in plain sight I see.
That cunning plan to throw me off the trail didn’t work.

The price of that failure…
you’re now stuck with me as one of your loyal detractor… errr… I mean followers.

I’m looking forward to hearing the rest of the story (and lobbing a few hand-grenades into the middle of the festivities when ever possible).
:duck:

Nice job on the TT write up; very good information (just wish I could put it to good use in the near, but I digress). Your final design was, shall we say, interesting. It looked a little like a cross between a Tonka and a surrey (sans: the fringe on top), but you can’t argue with the final score.

Great start :thumbsup2

I'm back and caught up. Great intros. I'm so sorry to hear about the camera issues...that's awful...especially with the little ones, but I'm sure the phone pictures will give us the story.
