A Daily Dose of Disney Drama! 5/02/13 PG 53 THE END

Missed Caitlin's update earlier - sounds like it's going to be a great December!

It will be!

Hi Caitlin! Welcome back! I had seen some of the pics on Facebook and I had loved the one of the china. I didn't know they had different symbols on them. Now I want a set. I almost bought the Be Our Guest pillow when we were there in August but I didn't and now I am kicking myself.

Yep they are really cool!

I kept looking at them while we were there and mom finally had to say she bought me one so I wouldnt buy one

@ Dawn- sounds like you had a super morning!

I haven't been to the Captain's Grille for breakfast, but the dinner we had there was really good. Yours are only the second set of pictures I have seen of the moving boat at the restaurant. Do you remember when they were originally posted- I think it came as news to Teena, too- she didn't know about it!

You enjoyed a few nice, classic EPCOT attractions. The pictures from Imagination are really great! I see what you mean about the colors of the one of the sign.

Well it is obvious why there is only one picture of LWTL- "I have taken the quintessential picture representing the attraction. I am done"

Really cute pictures in the Seas. I am always jealous of decent pictures on Space Ship Earth, which is one of my all-time favorites.

@ Caitlin- sounds like you had a great shower in a fun, casual setting! I love your Disney-themed gifts!

Hey everyone! I thought I would post another real life update this one just mostly pictures :thumbsup2

Every year we go to the Henry Ford Museum to check out their Christmas decorations and see Santa. Yesterday we went with my grandparents and while we weren't able to meet Santa because of a ridiculous line and me having to work at one I did take a ton of pics :thumbsup2

Here are some of the decorations.

My grandpa and I are planning on making these for next Christmas :thumbsup2

We had a really fun time and will be headed back there on the 27th for Holiday Nights at Greenfield Village!

Pretty! I love Christmas Displays and you got some great shots. Thanks for posting. :santa:

They are lovely pictures...:goodvibes

What is the Henry Ford Museum? (I mean I know who Henry Ford was and what he did but what does the museum showcase?)

Thank you!

The museum showcases just about everything in history. From a civil rights exhibit to showing how pop culture has changed throughout the years and then there is a car exhibit and a train exhibit. It is an awesome museum :thumbsup2

They had a bunch of flowers in a pot and that was one of the more colorful ones. I am not quite sure what type of flower it is though :lmao:

Oh that's easy. After all my years of horticulture and cultivation experience, I can unequivocally state...

It's a pretty one.

See? Not so hard.

LOVE that picture too. What is it exactly?

Looks like they crossed a rose with cabbage or lettuce. lol

Ooh! Ooh! I know!!! It actually is an ornamental cabbage. :wizard: They are in a lot of WDW flower beds in the winter. :goodvibes

Enjoying the TR... and SR (Shower report).

Hi All! So this is my second attempt at this update today. I was almost finished with my first one when my computer froze and I lost everything :sad1: So let's try this again...

I am sorry it's been so long since my last post but life keeps getting in the way. Things have been hectic here so I've fallen behind. We did find time to make plans for our 2013 vacation though. We are headed back to our happy place on May 4th. We are going right after Caitlin graduates from college :cool1: We will be spending 4 nights at the AOA in a Little Mermaid room and then 3 nights at Yacht Club CL and the boys will be joining us :cheer2: We've booked our adrs and we're very excited to be trying "Be Our Guest" for the first time. The only downside to any of this is we will once again be missing MEK. One of these days our trips will overlap! Now back to Sept.

When I left off we were headed toward World Showcase.....

On our way over we passed the cranberry bog

We arrived in Norway shortly before 11. We hopped in line and enjoyed watching all the excited little princesses as they waited for their adrs at Akershus.
The wait was about 10 minutes but only because it hadn't opened. As soon as it did we walked on.

After our visit to the land of the trolls we continued on journey around the world stopping next in China. As luck would have it we were welcomed by royalty! Mulan was all alone so we stopped and got a picture with the very tiny princess.
DSC00312.jpg

She asked where we were from and when we told her "Michigan" she told us she had just met "another small army from there". I told her not to worry but that we were "infiltrating". She smiled and said as long as we weren't Huns it was ok :rotfl2:

Her handler took us aside and asked if we knew that it was going to be CM Preview Day of the Food and Wine Fest. We told him we had heard a rumor but weren't certain. He told us all the booths would be open by 2pm. Dale was super excited as he loves F&W!

We then headed into China and caught the movie for the first time ever. We learned we weren't missing much. :rolleyes2 Why are all the travel movies at Epcot so bad? The only enjoyable one is Canada IMO anyway. I think its time for some new movies!

After the movie we paid a visit to the Tomb Warriors.

We then said 再见 to China and continued on our journey around the world.
As we approached Germany, Dale saw a sight that widened the smile on his face

DSC00320.jpg

The first opened F&W booth! He grabbed a beer to enjoy as we walked.

DSC00321.jpg

As we walked we noticed the boats in the water

DSC00324.jpg

DSC00323.jpg

Wouldn't it be cool if you could ride them?!

When we got to America we decided it was really getting hot so we should go see the American Adventure and cool off. As we waited for the show I noticed this quote which I liked.

DSC00325.jpg

We soon were seated and sat down for the tour through American history. I love this show and no matter how many times I see it I am always in tears by the end. After the show the CM who serves as host approached Dale and told him he had a phone call. Dale went down to the front and on the phone was Goofy! Despite his busy schedule he found time to call Dale and wish him "Happy Birthday!". Ya gotta love a guy like that :)

On the way out of the pavillion we noticed this fall display

DSC00326.jpg

We then continued on and in
DSC00328.jpg

Dale tried this
DSC00327.jpg

Sorry he took a bite before I got the pic but it was some sort of Pita. He said it was "ok" but he wasn't super impressed.

Our next stop was Belgium
DSC00330.jpg

where he tried another beer. He needed it to wash down the mussels :crazy2:
DSC00332.jpg

I am not a foodie so I found this very gross! Dale loved it though!

At this point I was getting hungry and none of this F&W stuff was appealing to me. We headed back to the good ol' USofA where I found this delicacy

DSC00333.jpg

Yep, I have a gourmet palate!
