The rest of 2014 for the classics? Any speculations as to when and what?

Anybody have any thoughts on when you think the rest of the 2014 dates might be released for the Magic and Wonder and what might be offered for the second half (or so) of the year?

I am interested in summer 2014 trips. I'd also like to see what these ships's are doing at Christmas.

My May 2013 Transatlantic was booked in January 2012, but I think the summer cruises were announced before then. Unfortunately, the fall 2013 cruises on the classic ships weren't announced until July 2012! Therefore, I wouldn't be surprised if DCL announces the summer 2014 cruises in January and the rest of 2014 in the summer.

We booked Thanksgiving 2012 when they released the summer and fall schedules on the classics in April of 2011, so maybe April?

I would guess March, based in the fact that the Fantasy and Dream are approximately 2 months later than they were last year. Plus final payment for 2013 Europe cruises will have passed for the TA crossing and the early June cruises, so people can't jump ship.

I am expecting to see Baltic cruises from Dover

I would love to see the Wonder come back to the west coast and do Alaska and some pacific coast cruises. Not interested at all in Mexican Riviera.

I am pretty sure that the Wonder will head to Europe in 2014 and will do the same extended dry dock at the end of the season that the Magic is doing next year. The main question for me is if the Magic will head to Alaska in 2014.

The final payment date for the May 2013 Transatlantic cruise is January 18. The 12-night Med cruises will also have a final payment date 120 days prior to the sail date.

Based on the last known dates for the spring 2014 cruises, I think it will still be the Magic that goes to Europe and the Wonder will go to Alaska. If there are no Alaska cruises, then it's possible for the Wonder to go to Europe in early May 2014. However, it's unlikely that the Magic would do Alaska cruises, as they wouldn't be able to start until early June - after a 2-week Panama Canal cruise and a 1-week California coastal cruise.

Our PIF date is in March for our 12 N in July.

I am going to guess January 7th they will announce the remainder of 2014 for the classics. I am guessing the Wonder will do Alaska and the Magic will go to NYC and do Bahama runs. Just guessing.

I wouldn't expect Baltic cruises. They did not sell well last time around and from what has been talked about , something that is highly unlikely to ever be done again.

How about some summer cruises to Hawaii?? :thumbsup2 Any chance do you think?:confused3

I know that some have mentioned the Hawaii cruises not selling as quickly as first thought, but there are some (well me at least;)) who would love to go, but can only travel when the children are out of school in August:thumbsup2

I really wanted to sail Hawaii. No way I'd take the kids out of school though. I'd be so happy to see summer sailings :)

Hawaii in the summer would be nice but I doubt it will happen. Seems like the stuff I want to do on the west coast always happens in the off season. They have done great summer trips out east but not out west. DCL will likely do Alaska again and, as someone has mentioned on the DIS before, they are not likely to take any weeks from what's perceived as lucrative Alaska sailings to do anything else. Bummer because sailing anywhere during the summer that requires a long airplane trip airfare is just so expensive that it doesn't make sense to do it.

:sad1:

I so hope that's not true as that's what i'm praying for.

We looked into doing a Baltic cruise with DCL the last time they offered it, but it was so much more expensive than other cruiselines we just couldn't justify the $$$$. Had a great time cruising with the competition.

I know the Wonder is due for a major dry dock in 2014. Is there a specific deadline (month) that the work has to be done to comply with some regulation? Wish we knew which shipyard they'll be using and when.
