We will be at the BW in January and just read that the Bakery and the Luna Park Pool will be closed from Jan. 1 through April for renovations...

Any info on these closures?

Steve

Luna Park will be closed?

There is a hot tub over at the quiet pool, right?

It's time this got rehabbed--it should have a zero entry like the others. Hope this is in their plans!

I've been searching online forever. Is there a hot tub in the quiet pool area on the villas side? I can't seem to find any info on this.

Or just on the Inn side?

Thanks for your help!

I just checked the rehab list. The bakery will be closed from1/2/13 - 4/1/13. Luna Park Pool does not close until 1/28/13 and is scheduled to reopen on 3/1/13. No word on a mug refill station but there will be a coffee cart on the boardwalk.

Say it ain't so!!! I changed our VWL reservation to BWV for mid February, and weather permitting, we plan to use the pool.

I wonder if they will allow BWV guests to use the SAB during that time?

I suspect they will as they have in the past. I think they even provided transportation over to Beach Club.

I was thinking about changing back to VWL, but SAB could be a good thing. I will give them a call this morning and see what they say. Thanks!

All accounts say that Disney's company line right now is to tell people that Boardwalk guests will have to use the quiet pools during the refurb. But they are likely to come up with a SAB plan much closer to the refurb start date.

The Boardwalk Bakery is being expanded. Not much in the way of exact details are available, but I have heard that they are moving the actual baking equipment to the rear of the building to enlarge the front of the store.

This is terrible!!! :sad1: My DS favorite thing about BWV is the pool side. The quiet pools are not fun for kids. My DH and I love sitting by the pool and having a cocktail from the pool bar. I really hope they let us use SAB .

I just called Member Services, and they will allow us to use SAB and will provide golf carts to transport us over.

Now I have to obsess over these factors: :bitelip:

- We like our pool time...but it is mid February so it might be cold...but forecasts call for a warmer than usual February in the south.

- We like to use the hot tub when it is chilly. Will the hot tub at the quiet pool be crowded? It sounds like a pain in the neck to transport to another resort just to use the hot tub.

- We based a couple dinners around being at BWV (Yachtsman and the last evening at ESPN to watch SU vs. CT.) Do we want to change that all around?

- Our original reservation was at VWL which we stayed at in October and loved. But we've never stayed at BWV.

Decisions, decision. lol

I might be wrong, but I think you are allowed to use the hot tub on the Inn side of the Boardwalk.

I do not recall the Boardwalk Inn is among the pools we are not allowed to hop to ...

This is a hard decision. The BW is a great resort though!

I bet the hot tub will be crowded near the quiet pool, but there is one on the Inn side too. I personally wouldn't golf cart it over to BC or YC for the hot tub.

The location of the resort for dining I think outweighs the pool being closed. But it is all about what your family prefers! It is a hard choice!

Thanks for your thoughts, hmiller. Thinking about it, if it's too chilly to use the pool, then it will be chilly going outside in a bathing suit to use the hot tub too. There is always the room jacuzzi for an after-park soak. :goodvibes

It's just my husband and I on a three night getaway, so we are flexible. If we get lucky and have some warm weather, we can always hop over to SAB for a couple hours in the afternoon. While at VWL, we used the quiet pool everyday and never even got to the main pool, so I don't think we are going to miss the actual main pool at BWV.

Hope you have a great vacation!

My DH and I are doing a 3 night getaway without kids in Jan at BWV! We are really looking forward to it, and planned for BW because of dining as well!

Have fun! (And I see you are from Chicago, so Jan/Feb in Florida will be tropical to you too. ;))
