"No One's Gloomy or Complaining"-in DISNEY WORLD!~An 11/12 TR!-*NEW TR Link pg 56!!!*

Yay for an update !!

Ahhhh Epcot. I love it sooo much.

You know those Perry the Platypus dolls ??? The Christmas-y ones with the lights on them ?? If you pressed the button in its little paw, it would light up. I came this close to buying one !!!

Loving the AoA photos !!

That ravioli looks GOOD. :thumbsup2

HAHAHA, "a somewhat hostile Norwegian voice." That struck me as hilarious. :lmao:

I love Epcot at night. Why is it so perfect? I really would love to know.

I'm glad you made Brandon let you out to get those AoA pictures, because I love them! That resort looks so awesome. I cannot wait to see it in person.

LOL... you're right that anything with tomato sauce and melted cheese is quite tasty... We have a take out Italian place near us... sometimes Eric will order their manicotti or lasagna and the best part is the sides where there is just extra cheese that baked right on top of the sauce... I always snag some of that when he's not looking...:ssst:

You're also right that the narrator voice on the Maelstrom is a little sinister... I hadn't thought about it... but when I read it... I have to agree with you...:scratchin It is a cute little ride though...I like those trolls too...:thumbsup2

(Don't you just wish WS had another one or two of those kind of rides... Italy would be a prime place for that... hmmm... actually Canada might be good as well...::yes::)

Mouse Gears is probably my new favorite "big-overall" Disney Merchandise store... It's not crazy big like World of Disney in DTD... but I think its really well laid and well stocked... you really can find pretty much all of the general Dis merchandise -it's attractive and a pleasure to shop in...:goodvibes

I was laughing about you having Brandon drive around so you could get photos in front of AoA... I would so have done that too...:rotfl:

OMG Karmel Kuche is a favorite!!! I got the carmel popcorn last visit and that lasted me on our car rides to panama city beach to visit, and then georgia.. my mouth is watering just thinking about it!!! But, I am german, and we love our caramel!!!! haha!

Norway is beautiful! My husband is part noweigan and we always do Maelstrom and spend time in the store there! His family has tons of the trolls they sell there! so cute :)

HAHA There is ALWAYS energy and time to look through mousegears!!!!

I had that same dish in Italy and it was really good. I liked it. I guess I must be simple, too! :rotfl:

What, no rita in Mexico? :faint: At least Brandon went for it.

I bet you guys did crash hard after your early morning. Can't believe you are getting up and saying goodbye to AoA already.

I love all of the night time pictures! There is something magical about the parks after dark (or really any time I guess lol but I like the dark) Crazy lines at F&W though wow.

Well, I should have been in bed hours ago, but I had to place a quick post. Truly enjoying your TR. Your pictures and descriptions have me walking right along with you at WDW.

Looking forward to reading more. :surfweb:

I think a Karamel Kuche air freshener would be a brilliant idea!! :thumbsup2

I LOVE the Mexico pavilion, I think it is so perfectly done!

Ambitious plan for the morning....but I think you can make it!! :thumbsup2

I guess I need to check out some of this Laila stuff because this is the second TR mentioning it that I've read in 2 days!! :rotfl:

Whoa, sounds like a SUPER busy morning coming up! Hope y'all made it to rope drop!!

I know what you mean about the lines for Hops and Barley being ridiculous. Every time I passed it when we there, there were people streaming out of the queue. :confused3

Mmm, the chewy caramel bar is the best. I love that store and can understand how hard it is to choose just one thing. I mean, how can you limit yourself to one sweet? Near impossible...

AoA looks so awesome lit up at night!

That ravioli looks delicious!! I agree with the whole tomato sauce and cheese. Such a wining combo. Good work Italy!

Yay Maelstrom! The trolls and the hostility really make that ride:rotfl:

Laila smells so flippin great! I always coat myself in a thick layer of it after Maelstrom... it's all good though because due to the lovely Floridian heat and humidity, I sweat off most of it in about 5 minutes.

I love that you made Brandon drive out to get that sign picture!
Totally reasonable thinking to a dis-head :goodvibes

Sounds like an insane morning ahead!

Loving the AoA photos !!

I love Epcot! I could probably spend my whole trip there and not be upset! :thumbsup2

WHAT???? I almost bought one not knowing the lights lit up, if I figured that out, I'd have yet another Perry doll at home with me! :rotfl:

Thanks, AoA is cute isn't it!

That ravioli looks GOOD. :thumbsup2

HAHAHA, "a somewhat hostile Norwegian voice." That struck me as hilarious. :lmao:

I'm glad you made Brandon let you out to get those AoA pictures, because I love them! That resort looks so awesome. I cannot wait to see it in person.

It really is! A lot of people don't like it, but I think it's yummy!

I'm not sure why the narrator on Maelstrom is so angry at first! He calms down once the ride moves on, but when you're going up the hill, he's basically yelling at you! :confused3

I would love to know why Epcot is so perfect too. I'd love to know why I can't go ONE day of my life without wishing I was in Disney! :(

I'm glad Brandon stopped to let me take a picture too, he didn't want to at first, but I insisted! When we drove by it I told him to just let me out in the middle of the street, but he had to park and get out and everything! It's such a cute resort!

LOL... you're right that anything with tomato sauce and melted cheese is quite tasty... We have a take out Italian place near us... sometimes Eric will order their manicotti or lasagna and the best part is the sides where there is just extra cheese that baked right on top of the sauce... I was laughing about you having Brandon drive around so you could get photos in front of AoA... I would so have done that too...:rotfl:

Haha, whenever I make chicken parm at home, I always make sure I put extra cheese on the sides, just so I can eat melted cheese...I feel like that might be a problem! :rolleyes1

Yeah, I don't know, that Norwegian man just seems so angry at first! I wish there was another ride in the WS...I heard Italy was supposed to have a ride like that with a gondola, that would have been cool! France and Canada would be great spots too! I wish they would do something new in WS, I love it but it would be so exciting to have something new!

I love Mouse Gear! I don't know when this obsession started, but it is probably my favorite store in the parks too, it's just so cute and they have so much stuff, yet it's not crowded or crazy in there! And they play good music! :thumbsup2

I'm actually surprised Brandon didn't put up too much of a fight when I made him drive me to take those pictures...he thought it was kind of stupid, but he did it! I'm glad I did, because it looks so cute all lit up! :)

OMG Karmel Kuche is a favorite!!! I got the carmel popcorn last visit and that lasted me on our car rides to panama city beach to visit, and then georgia.. my mouth is watering just thinking about it!!! But, I am german, and we love our caramel!!!! haha!

OMG that caramel popcorn is so good! I didn't get any on this trip, but I will definitely be getting some in February! :thumbsup2

I love Norway, and I love the stores there! Especially the Laila! Ahh someday i will buy a bottle! :cool1:

It seems like no matter how tired I am, I'll always be able to take a detour through Mouse Gear!

Haha, I always read F&W reviews, and people always say they hate it! I'm not sure why, I think it's good! :confused3

I know, I'm lame! :sad2: All I think about for months is the rita's in Mexico, and then I'm too tired or too hot or something and I can't get one! Brandon can drink at anytime of the day, however. For me, it seems like the stars have to be aligned perfectly or something. Lame. :confused3

I know, I thought we'd have so much more time at AoA, but that's what happens with those one night stays! Hopefully someday we'll stay longer than one night! :cool1:

I love all of the night time pictures! There is something magical about the parks after dark (or really any time I guess lol but I like the dark) Crazy lines at F&W though wow.

Thank you! I agree, I love the parks at night! I mean, I love them during the day too, but at night they are just so pretty and magical!pixiedust:

Haha, yeah, some of the lines that night were pretty insane, but most of them were manageable! I'm not sure why the super long line at Hops and Barely, I guess everyone just wanted Sam Adams! :rotfl2:

Well, I should have been in bed hours ago, but I had to place a quick post. Truly enjoying your TR. Your pictures and descriptions have me walking right along with you at WDW.

Looking forward to reading more. :surfweb:

Haha, don't you hate when you have something else to do but the DIS sucks you in? :rotfl2: Thank you SO much, I'm so glad you are enjoying my TR! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

I think a Karamel Kuche air freshener would be a brilliant idea!! :thumbsup2

I LOVE the Mexico pavilion, I think it is so perfectly done!

Ambitious plan for the morning....but I think you can make it!! :thumbsup2

Wouldn't it??? I mean, I LOVE those turkey legs, you know that, but I sniffed those air fresheners and they were gross. :crazy2: Caramel would be so much better!

I love Mexico too, it's so pretty, and I think it smells so good in there! And I finally walked around those little stores inside, and they are so cute! I had no idea! I could spend hours in there! :cool1:

Ugh, I don't know what I was thinking with that next morning...:scared:

I guess I need to check out some of this Laila stuff because this is the second TR mentioning it that I've read in 2 days!! :rotfl:

Whoa, sounds like a SUPER busy morning coming up! Hope y'all made it to rope drop!!

WHAT??? You've never smelled Laila? If you have walked through the shops in Norway, then you have, because the whole area smells like it! I just love that you can actually buy that scent and spray it on your body, it's so pretty! And I don't usually like perfume, but this is perfect!! :cool1:

It was such a busy morning...an early morning! :bitelip:

I know what you mean about the lines for Hops and Barley being ridiculous. Every time I passed it when we there, there were people streaming out of the queue. :confused3

Mmm, the chewy caramel bar is the best. I love that store and can understand how hard it is to choose just one thing. I mean, how can you limit yourself to one sweet? Near impossible...

AoA looks so awesome lit up at night!

We were finally able to get there another night, but that night, it was insane! Like probably the longest line I've ever seen at a F&W booth! Crazy!

Maybe I should tell myself the next time I go in Karamell Kuche that I need to try something new...maybe that will make the decision process easier! :rotfl:

AoA was so cute, and it's even prettier at night!

Totally reasonable thinking to a dis-head :goodvibes

Sounds like an insane morning ahead!

The ravioli is so good! And it's a huge portion, it's almost like an entire dinner! I love it, I wish the Italy booth was always there!

I love Maelstrom, it's so weird, yet so entertaining! :thumbsup2

Haha, I do the same thing with the Laila! This time I started spraying it on my clothes too, so it would stay on me longer! I really have to buy a bottle!

Haha, I didn't see anything wrong with detouring the take a picture of the sign! He thought it was weird, but then again, he's been with me to Disney enough times now that he's used to my obsessive picture taking! :rotfl:

It was a pretty crazy morning! :upsidedow

I am betting we passed right by each other. We stayed for Illuminations and were walking to it from spaceship earth!

Great update, Jen. I'm the opposite of you...I walk away from the perfume area of every single shop...the smell makes me literally sick. You got some great shots in Mexico, and the photo of Spaceship Earth is one of the best I've ever seen.

Hey Jen! Woohoo on starting another TR! I've caught up thanks to your chapter links :-)

I love how you started with an EoS and at my favourite park, Epcot! I want to include a thumbs up but haven't got the hang of emoticons on the phone app! Ha ha!

I'm loving all the pics of Art of Animation resort on here. It looks beautiful and your room is absolutely adorable. Looking forward to reading more. Tanz :-) x

Ok, I've finally wandered back over to catch up on your TR. I thought I commented earlier but I don't think it was successful. My SIL and nephew were at AoA right after you left so we have a LOT of the same photos from her. The place looks wonderful and maybe one day I'll take the kids there. It was a consideration for our trip next month...but then we decided free (using our DVC membership points) would be much better! :lmao:

We hardly spent any time in EPCOT on our last trip so that's our focus for this return trip next month. I love all of your EPCOT photos and you are totally making me wonder if I shouldn't go ahead and book a trip for Food and Wine next year! :)

Hi everyone! Sorry it's taken me so long to do another update, I'm hoping I can do one later tonight, but if not, definitely tomorrow!

I am betting we passed right by each other. We stayed for Illuminations and were walking to it from spaceship earth!

Haha, probably! I'm sure I passed you a bunch of times and didn't even realize it! :rotfl:

Thanks! I usually do the same thing, I normally hate perfume, but I love the Laila! Thanks, Spaceship Earth is so pretty at night, isn't it? :goodvibes

Yay! Glad to see you back on the DIS! :goodvibes

I feel like I always have to start a Disney trip with an EoS sandwich, I love that place! And I always have to start at Epcot, I love it! :cheer2:

Thanks, AoA is so cute, I'd love to stay there again! :thumbsup2

Haha, AoA is adorable, but you're right, you can't beat DVC points! :cool1: You should check it out someday, even if it's just to visit, because it really is adorable!

YES you should go to Food and Wine! It is so much fun! I'm wondering if there is any way I can do a quick F&W weekend trip AND a December trip...that might be pushing it with Brandon since we weren't supposed to be doing Disney at all next year, but I'm not sure I'll make it! :rotfl:

A Magical Kind of Morning

Friday, November 9

So I had some pretty ambitious plans for Friday morning, which meant waking up EARLY. I hardly ever sleep in in Disney, I mean, if I sleep til 8 while I'm there I feel like it's late...but even this day was a little early for me. I had the alarm set for...5:45 am.

Let's just say, Brandon was not thrilled about that. I tried to let him sleep a little longer while I packed up our Little Mermaid room at AoA, but I eventually had to wake him. We were only staying here for one night, and sadly, we had to check out. He grudgingly woke up, packed his stuff, and we were out the door.

I wasn't sure if I had to physically check out of AoA or not, but since I had my credit card on file, I wanted to just to be safe. I figured, hey, it's like 6:30 in the morning, how long could it take right? I let Brandon stay in the car while I ran into the lobby to check out.

It ended up taking SO long! The poor CM (who was the same CM who checked us in, which was weird) kept apologizing to me, he said the computers were really slow that morning...it was fine, I wasn't mad, but I was starting to get a bit impatient in my head...we still had to check INTO POR and then get to MK for rope drop!

Finally we were finished, and we flew over to POR. I'd say we got there around 7 am. Isn't it crazy how it takes SO long to do anything in Disney? We go into the lobby...and there is a HUGE line for check in! At 7:00 in the morning! I think we got there just as an ME bus let people off, because the line was insane. We contemplated leaving and just going to MK and checking in later, but we figured it would be just as bad later, and plus, we wanted our dining credits, so we just waited...and waited and waited and waited!

We finally checked in, and our room was ready! However, that didn't really matter, because we just wanted to get our dining credits and attach our park hoppers to our KTTW card (which the CM always tells us they can't do, but when we get to the parks, they are magically on the card somehow!) and get to MK!

We floored it over to the Magic Kingdom...driving over, I was still a tiny bit hopeful we'd make it for rope drop to see the opening show, but once we got to the parking lot, I knew it was a lost cause. We parked in the Woody lot, and there were already 8 million people waiting for a tram, which took forever to pick us up. As we boarded, we heard the opening show song on the tram. Oh well, at least I've seen it a few times, right?

It was an absolutely beautiful morning, nice and sunny, and cool. People were complaining that it was too cold, but I thought it was perfect weather! The tram dropped us off and we ran up the monorail ramp. Brandon wanted to take the ferry, because he's one of those "the ferry takes less time" people, but I told him there was no way I was getting on that ferry before taking the monorail. I'm sorry, but no.

Soon, our lovely monorail was at the platform, and we were on our way to the Magic Kingdom entrance!

Since all of the rope drop crowds were already in the park, there were not too many people going in, so it took no time at all to get through bag check and then into the park!

P1000136.jpg

We slowly walked in, because for some reason, I always have to look around like I've never been there, and we saw Marie meeting people in the middle of Town Square! Her line wasn't too long, and I always have to meet Marie on every trip, so we got in line!

P1000139.jpg

Marie was sweet and adorable, as always, and it was a wonderful meet and greet! (Oh, and just so you guys know, we did get photopass pictures taken, but I didn't buy the CD this time, so all of our pictures are from my camera! And you will see a LOT of pictures of me in that blue hoodie, since it was so cool throughout the trip, which is annoying, because I had so many cute Disney shirts! :rotfl:)

We said goodbye to Marie, and made our way down Main Street. We had a breakfast ADR at 10:30 at Crystal Palace, but we were kind of hungry from not eating all morning, so we stopped at the Main Street Bakery to get a snack. The line wasn't out the door like it normally is in the morning, so it didn't take long at all. I had a cheese danish, which was good, but it wasn't as good as they usually are, like the ones at Sunshine Seasons, it seemed like it was too cold or something. But still, even a not so good Disney danish is still pretty good! (If that makes sense!)

IMG_1553.jpg

When we were finished at Main Street Bakery, I had one place in mind I had to check before we did anything else. I HAD to see if New Fantasyland was open. I knew my chances were slim to none, since they were doing the AP previews the whole week I was there, but I had to check anyway!

We walked right through the middle of the hub, and had to stop to look at the adorable statues for a minute:

P1000143.jpg

and of course, I had to take a million pictures of the castle!

P1000146.jpg

I Instagrammed this one, I thought it was so pretty:

IMG_1555.jpg

We walked through the castle and I quickly made my way over to the gates of New Fantasyland...

P1000148.jpg

but it was closed! Oh well! I knew it would be, but I had to see for myself!

We went over to check the wait for Peter Pan, which was already outrageous, but the Fast Pass return times we less than an hour away, so we grabbed some of those.

We walked over to the Haunted Mansion, which had no wait, so why not, I'm never going to pass up the Haunted Mansion!

P1000151.jpg

It was awesome, as always! I tried to take pictures inside, but my camera didn't really like the darkness, so I just sat back and enjoyed the ride! And I'm pretty sure we even made it through without getting stuck, it seems like we always get stuck on that ride, even if it's only for a few seconds!

We didn't really know what we wanted to do next, so we just walked through Frontierland and ended up at Big Thunder Mountain!

P1000154.jpg

I don't remember what the wait time was posted at, but all we did was walk through the line and get right on, which is probably the first time that has ever happened in my life! We even got the front row, which was awesome! I know people like the back, but I thought the front was fun!

P1000155.jpg

P1000156.jpg

Castle!

P1000158.jpg

BTMRR was so much fun, I was a bit nervous about riding it, since the last time it made me feel a little nauseous, but this time I was fine! :thumbsup2 I think I felt that way in May because it was so hot, and this time, it was nice and cool out, so I had no problems with anything!

I wanted to go on Splash, but there was no way I wanted to walk around soaked all day when it wasn't that warm out yet, so we decided to save that for later. We just wandered back through Frontierland, enjoying the sun and non-existant crowds:

(This is the first time I've ever gone to MK on a party day and I HIGHLY recommend it!)

Up next...more MK and Crystal Palace!
