"A Fresh Start" WDW Vacation with a Newbie and the Boyfriend!- Nov TR COMPLETE 2/16!

I'm loving your TR. Thank you for sharing! Your pictures of Art of Animation are beautiful. I hope I will be staying there in March for my mini trip.

I really love your Disney village! That's just beautiful! Did you buy most of it at Downtown Disney?

Art of Animation is so stinking cute. I NEED to stay there soon. I am honestly really curious about the 'sketch' drawings on the buildings. It really just looks like paint! That's so cool to me.

Love your Christmas decorations! Your dog is precious! I can't believe yall are getting so much snow! It hasn't been nearly cold enough for snow here!

I am caught up again.

Great updates and pics.

AofA is a nice resort.

Loved the car stunt show pics. I have not seen it since Lightning McQueen was added.

Pretty Christmas tree and love the snow pics.

We are just starting a Disney village so liked them also.

Love the Lights, Motor, Action show. It is really so well done. I remember thinking that remote control was real for the first time I saw it too. :rotfl:

Only the beginning scene of Indiana Jones? Now that's a bummer.

Nice pictures in HS and at AoA.

I think I definitely need to stay at AoA. It really is too cute.

Wow - you ARE getting some serious snow. It does look pretty. Love your tree and the Disney Christmas Village. I so want one of those. Oh yeah - and your dog is a little sweet heart!

Next it was time to go to our 'Ohana reservation at 8:05pm. We left our room about 6:50 I think? A little detail seemed to slip my mind and that was that a Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween was happening at 7pm. We were taking the MK bus so that meant a lot of people for the party would be with us.

Here is the gorgeous sunset overlooking LM section!
IMG_2076.jpg

When we got in line there wasn't that many people coming but gradually people kept filling in. A bus finally pulled up and we got in and got a seat. I swear we were loading for 20 minutes and the bus driver packed that bus in. Emily got sat on and sneezed on.. it was pretty gross. So the bus finally left and then cue the waterworks. Every single baby- about 6- started crying at once. It was the domino effect! It was quite funny but then I just wanted to get to MK. I swear that was the longest bus ride EVER!

So we get off at MK after waiting 10 minutes for a bus to move out of our spot. We got out at 8pm. We then went to the monorail and got on the monorail right away and then were going around when we got stuck in a holding pattern! Then another one a little way down.

Here is Emily in the monorail.
IMG_2079.jpg

So we finally get to our reservation about 10-15 minutes late.

It was packed in there; like 20-30 parties waiting. I thought we would never get sat.

IMG_2080.jpg

So I decide if I am going to be here for a while I am getting a Lapu Lapu. I ordered it from the waiter before we got a seat then Corey had to go to the bathroom and then he handed me a $20 and said the drink was on him! Aw what a nice guy.

So I got my Lapu Lapu and it was strong but good! I definitely felt it quickly.
IMG_2082-1.jpg

Not long after I got my drink the pager went off! Yippee! We only waited like 15 minutes.

We were led to our table and it was a small table in the darkest corner of the restaurant with air streaming right on us! Haha, so not the best table, but I was willing to take it to get sat earlier. Corey and Emily were freezing during this meal but I was warm and fuzzy from my drink. But we had a decent castle view and that was the most important part because we got to watch Hallowishes.

Here was our castle view.

IMG_2098.jpg

So they started bringing over the masses of food and our table had no room on it. We had to start putting stuff on the windowsill! Haha That was my only real complain, it just wasn't enough room and it wasn't comfortable. They gave us the portion size for 4 people up. We saw another 3 top and they were getting smaller portions. I wasn't complaining!

Emily loved the massive piles of meat, haha

The food was very good. I love that place. So since they gave us massive amounts of food we had about 20 chicken wings left because Corey and I don't eat them. So Emily started chowing down because she felt bad for all the chickens that died and we wouldn't even eat them. She didn't want them to have died for no reason, Lol! Plus her boyfriend is a huge chicken wing lover so he really wanted her to eat them for him!

In the middle of our dinner Hallowishes started to play which was really cool. I really liked how far the fireworks went out around the park. I was surprised at how much narration there was and how slow it was

IMG_2116.jpg

We got done from dinner and really didn't want to take the bus back to Art of Animation. So we decided to cab it again!

IMG_2118.jpg

While we were waiting for the cab it was sooo cold!!! BRRRR!
IMG_2122.jpg

IMG_2123.jpg

The Polynesian resort is so beautiful!
IMG_2125.jpg

We had the weirdest cab driver ever. Emily asked about who takes care of the roads within WDW- the city or WDW. He then went on and on about how Disney owns all of the resorts. I dunno but he didn't answer our question. He was just a little odd!?

I think the cab drive was about $20. Not bad for a little bit of sanity!

We got back and I took some pictures of the cool ceilings and wall at the check in area of Art of Animation.
IMG_2128.jpg

After we walked back to the room I decided to take my tripod out and try to take some pictures with it.

So I took some of Ariel then moved it.
IMG_2130.jpg

I took it over the middle and it literally fell apart. The legs buckled in and it twisted and then the quick release plate moved. I got so frustrated after that.

I did manage to get one kinda cool Ursula pic.
IMG_2138.jpg

After that I decided I wasn't taking my tripod to any parks to use. I didn't want to get frustrated with it in the middle of the crowds and then cause a scene. What a waste of $150! Although I have been using it since I have been back.

Oh Lord, I have had bus rides like that and they are never ending! Although it seems I'm always having to stand during those. Ugh. That sounds like such a hassle getting to 'Ohana, but it's 'Ohana, so yeah, WORTH IT! :thumbsup2 Hahaha. (I really like 'Ohana.)

Aww, how many chicken wings did Emily eat? That's too funny.

So cool to see Hallowishes from your table! That must have been awesome.

I love your Disney Christmas Village !!

Thanks so much for reading. You will love Art of Animation! I think I am taking a mini trip in May. I actually bought most of it Sears. I know DTD sells them but Sears does too. They go on sale for cheap at Sears!

Yes we got a lot of snow! It was soo cold this week. Mondays high was like 10 and then the wind chill kicked in and it was like -10! I like the LMA show but I can't say I love it. I think it has ran a good run but I am secretly hoping for it to be done for Carsland!

very cool christmas village i enjoyed the pictures thanks.

Thank you!!

I think she had like 10! Lol! And that was after she ate everything else! I know Ohana is so worth it. It is so good and completely unique from anything I get around here! Hallowishes was really cool. I loved seeing it for free even if it wasn't the best location to see the actual fireworks. I was still cool to hear it.

What a great dinner. All the food looks so yummy, especially dessert. And the shrimp -yum. I just wish they served that first. :rotfl:

You got a great view of Wishes. What a lovely accompaniment to the meal. And the Lapu Lapu - :thumbsup2

Your dusk and nighttime pics of AoA are also quite good. I love the pool shot. Boy do I really want to stay there.

My husband had to take a cab while we were at Disney- I was impressed how quickly they arrived at the resort for us. I LOVE not having to drive while at Disney, but I HATE not having access to my car! Does that even make sense? haha…

I think i peed my pants when I read that!!! I am sooo excited!!!!!!! My flight will be covered and my hotel Mon night.
