I'm excited.I was going to try it a few months ago and then changed my mind ($$$) and then it was all on sale over black Friday weekend so I ordered it.

I've been traditional scrapping for over 20 years and I'm falling more behind each and every day!

So I'm going to try this. I think I'm going to combine some of the pages I have already made the traditional way with some of the Project Life pages -- all in the same book.

Suggestions are VERY WELCOME! Would love to hear from you if you are using Project Life.

I haven't looked into project life
but please post pics of what you get done

are you saying instead of trying to scrap the past year because you were behind, that you uploaded them & ordered a printed book instead?

Not sure I understand what you ordered.

ETA: went thru OP's past posts & found this from August. Now off to google to see what the product is.

Got it. Its those divided page protectors where you slip in the photos & journal or embellish only as you want or need, instead of scrapping an entire page.

I quit scrapping years ago just because I could never keep up. I also don't even print pics anymore at this point. BUT, if this method had been around then, I might have kept up with it better. I've used similar method a few years ago for one occasion, but it wasn't from Becky higgins.

on Becky Higgins dot com I watched the 30 minute video of her "dealing with kids stuff" and I might try to make some of those albums too. She scanned a lot of her kids' art work and put the pictures in project life. That seems like a pretty organized thing to do.

I created my own Project 365 a few years ago... and I really need to order two project life kits so I can do my 2012 & 2013 books...

I too am falling further and further behind... I think my 2012 Disney trip I'm going to do digital and it will take several books..... but it may be the only way I can do it and it get done. I'm working on my 2010 Disney book right now and need to use up by swap stash so that I don't feel guilty about them just sitting in their drawers awaiting use.

We do have a fellow DISboard member, StitchIsOurHero, who has been using the Project Life books for a while because she and her DS4 like them so much more.. He looks through the books with her a lot and she is able to keep fairly caught up and he can relive their adventures faster..

Good luck with your project!! I'm sure you will like it... Can't wait to hear what you think! I may need to consider ordering them after the first of the year after DD's tuition is paid at the end of this month!

You're going to love it.
I did my own version of Becky's project 365 using Creative Memories albums and I actually finished those 2 years within months of the year being over. It was refeshing! And they will be easy to replicate if the kids want a copy of their own.

Moving forward I will be doing Project 365/Life digitally only because I am running out of space to put albums.

34 to date, with 4 more in the works (2 Disney trips).
Some of those albums will go with the children when they move out, their growing up albums, sports, school, and their ABC Disney books. Almost all of the Disney trips are 2 albums each, that's my biggest problem.

It's not so much that I'm overrun with them, but I only have so much allotted space because we are book hoarders. LOL We have so many books it's not funny.

I too did my own PL book in 2009. That was the year that BH introduced her PL kits (well... actually they were introduced in late 2008, but it seemed like everyone was ordering them to start in 2009).

I LOVE the way it turned out and I LOVE the fact that I actually kept up with it!

I did not order the BH kit.... I am far too cheap. I created my own in an 8.5 x 11 format using baseball card page protectors. It was a bit of work, since I had to cut all of my own journaling blocks, and fillers and of course, print my own photos in a special size. But I made SURE that the entire album was ready to go in January and all I had to do was take the photos, print them, and fill out the journaling. I did get a bit behind a few times and do have a few blanks in the album, but overall it is 98% complete and I am thrilled with it.

If I did it again (and I might), I would DEFINITELY go with a different format... something where I could just order standard size photos and use standard pre-cut papers.

As life gets busier and I get further and further behind on my scrapping, I could definitely foresee going more and more to a PL style format for everything.

I gave DD a PL style book to record her entire senior year of high school. We've been lax with photo taking lately, but I think in the end it will turn out well. Just need to get her to find the time to fill out the journaling blocks.

I have CM albums that I MUST use ;), but I love Project Life and Becky's materials. Did you just use the formats for the PL sleeves and put them on the 12x12 CM pages?

I use the adjustable Picfolio albums for the Project 365 albums. That way I can just slip the pics and journal boxes in. Getting a pic now......

Sorry for the bad pic, I took it with my phone. But you get the jist of it.

are those page protectors not see-thru? If so, that's nice if you didn't get around to adding a mat & just shove in the photo. Less detracting seeing other pages thru bare spots.

I quit scrapping (or trying) & moved onto card making for deployed troops with much more success & enjoyment. So out of the loop on albums & products.

I see the Becky Higgins Project Life comes in a mish mash of page protector sizes & options. http://www.themomcreative.com/2012/07/new-project-life-products.html

I did / made something similar after our trip that happened during 9/11 where I just wanted to get the album done & never look at it again for a long time. So much emotion & feelings I wanted to get down in journaling FAST! I did regular photo sleeves as that was what existed at the time. Slipped in memorabillia in place of photos. Then printed lots of journaling for each section, laminated it, punched 3 ring holes in & slipped between photo pages. Fastes & possibly the only trip album I have ever finished. For me, and for the time, it was a departure from the new & trendy scrapbooking people were doing & I was struggling with, and back to our beginnings of photo albums with extra stuff stuck in there like I always used to do.

You could most definately do that!

I have been doing PL for the past year. I love it.

I have always been at least a year behind. To date, i have all my pics in an album. I have 2011 completed thru July, and and 2012 thru Sept.

I predict by the end of January 2013 to be done with 2011 and 2012. This has never happened before!

For 2011 - I have used the Cherry Edition and LOVED being able to just slip things in and journal along the way.

For 2012 - I have been incorporating my own style of papers (I love love love Simple Stories) and adding in more everyday stuff like ticket stubs, and receipts (gas, groc store, hotels) and figure that someday someone will appreciate the cost of those items.

to complicate matters even more :):):):):)

I bought a really nice We r Memory Keepers binder at Michaels today. It's very sturdy ( the faux leather one) and I bought a set of the pages for it also. It's a knock off of Project Life.

So I'm going to work on both of them and see which one I like best.

Then I will know for nexttime which way I should go.

Heheheheh... WRMK was around first with all their different size page protectors and the PL binders are even made by WRMK.

But they will probably soon be made by AC as Becky Higgins has partnered with AC to distribute her PL in stores, but that is just my guess.

Is AC ACMoore? I have seen the binders and pages in AC Moore, Target, and Michaels so far. I believe they are cheapest at Target unless you get a sale or coupon at the other 2 places. I just bought 12x12 WRMK albums at Michaels for $14 each. Going to use it to make artwork books for my boys.

2013 is going to be a "keep it simple, stupid" year for me, with a faux-project life album, using WRMK albums and page protectors. I am going to try to prep each week in advance and then print pictures every few weeks. I need to work on journalling boxes that I can use. I have found some fun printables on line but I don't know if I will be using them.

Did y'all see that CM has come out with a Project 365-type software addition? It's called A Photo A Day. I am going to be looking at this because I struggle with putting photo collages together and have not been happy with the digital options I have been presented with.
