It's a WONDER we have any money left after the Cruise! - All done!

Congratulations on booking another cruise! and it's not that far away either, very nice :)

I love the Chicken Parmigiana at Palo. If they served nothing on the ship, but this, I would be happy.

And there was me thinking that I got a lot of packages while I was gone. By the way, did you get my reply to your PM. I can't quite seem to figure out PMs on the DIS iPad app.

Congratulations on getting another cruise booked. We loved Galveston and think we need to give this some more time at some point in the future.

Corinna

I need to join in on that TR to get ideas for ours! I think she forgot about the figure that she wanted to order, I'll check.

Yay i'm so glad you guys booked another cruise! :cool1:

We've been looking for things out of Galveston too. We booked a dummy cruise before getting off of the trip so we'll be researching where to go for probably next year. However, DH wants to be on the Fantasy and i'm not sure if the Fantasy leaves out of Galveston.

But how awesome! I guess this means both you and Fran loved this past cruise!:cool1:

It should be really nice, and not too far to go for us. I need to look into airfare and stuff. I had a great time. I think she liked it that she could rest in the room while I did things and she didn't feel like she was depriving me.

MORE boxes? :thumbsup2
Happy unpacking.

Congrats on the new cruise booking. Hope things are well with you. :flower3:

And to boot, when I came home from the dentist today there was a 60lb package about 3 1/2 feet tall and another smaller package on the doorstep! :faint:

Things are better, I think they will continue to look up! (insert crossing fingers smiley here).

so happy you booked your next cruise, and wow, that is a lot of packages!

I've gotten used to the packages. ;)

Absoltely loving your cruise report and pictures. Looks like you had a wonderful time! Hope her RA pain wasn't too bad during the trip. (I know how that is.)

We are cruiseaholics, so while we don't have another planned, I spend my time reading cruise reports. :coffee:

Love your bag!

:welcome: Sorry that you don't have a cruise planned. I will try to keep the updates coming! :thumbsup2

No it's not, but even closer is our trip to WDW. I was afraid that I might have to cancel yet another trip, but this morning, as we watched stuff about the Grand Opening of the new Fantasyland, she asked about when our dates were and told me to look into dinner at Be Our Guest.

This evening was formal night so we wanted to go to the show and had to get dressed up.

I’d heard a lot about the Golden Mickeys, but only enough to know that it was an Academy Awards themed show where they roll out the red carpet and interview guests as they approach.

DSCN9234.jpg

I won’t give it away for anyone who hasn’t seen it, but it was a cute show. Definitely with the Disney touch.

DSCN9240.jpg

Thankfully they don’t allow photography during the show, so you don’t have to watch all those pesky fruit loop screens in front of you in the theater. After the show we took a couple photos. This one with Mickey came out OK,

DSCN9242.jpg

We took a couple other photos, these were the ones that we bought that came out pretty OK

Then it was time for dinner

DSCN9246.jpg

DSCN9247.jpg

DSCN9248.jpg

We both started off with the Caramelized Bay scallops served on a bed of leeks and sundried tomato risotto. I had the rest of my Sancerre from the previous night to accompany the first two courses.

DSCN9251.jpg

We both had the Broccoli and Maytag Blue Cheese Soup mine was sans the Chopped Walnuts

DSCN9253.jpg

Finally a good picture of the two of us! :thumbsup2

Fran went with the Oven Roasted Tom Turkey Breast with Green Beans, Sweet Mashed Potatoes, Rosemary Stuffing, Giblet Gravy and Cranberry Relish.

DSCN9259.jpg

I went with the Yachtsman Steakhouse Grilled NY Strip. So far this has been my least favorite entrée. There was nothing wrong with it, just nothing special. I prefer a Rib Eye Cut, or Skirt Steak, I find both more flavorful than the NY. But the potato was really good when smothered in sour cream and butter.

DSCN9260.jpg

I ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir from Bogle to go with this course, and was able to bring that forward to the next night for dinner.

Then they brought the dessert menu

DSCN9263.jpg

DSCN9262.jpg

I went with the trio of Crème Brulee, The Golden Chocolate Award and Raspberry Cheesecake

DSCN9264.jpg

We came home to our towel animals

DSCN9267.jpg

DSCN9268.jpg

I was too tired for a bath tonight, and just went to sleep.

I love your dress and the photos have come out really nice. Your photos of dinner have given me an idea. I normally have the steak on this menu, but I am not overly keen on potatoes. I think next time I will ask if I can have the risotto from your appetizer with the steak.

Corinna

Fran looks great in the tux and you look so pretty in that dress. Sounds like things are settling back down to normal at home again; after the trip.

I love that the CMs kept having fun with the towel animals. :thumbsup2

My heart sunk when you said the next trip might be canceled. I'm glad she seems interested.

Glad you got to a show. I really enjoyed all of them. Tritons looks so beautiful. You both look fantastic :)

Loving the report! (PS..did you notice our picture in the newest D23 mag?)
What was in the giant 60lb box?

Thanks! The risotto was pretty good, not as good as Palo, but it was still tasty. I think that would work!

Thank you very much. I always think she looks great in her tux, but then again I am biased! Not completely normal, but still better than a couple days ago.

Beautiful...

My heart is still sunken, but I'm hoping that everything perks up a little before the trip.

I didn't see the D23 Magazine, what was on the cover? I'll have to take a look at it!

This is what was in the 60lb box

It goes on the back of this (which incidentally is arriving sometime today).

I can't wait to see the pics on my laptop my phone is too small to do them justice.

What an amazing car. When I still lived in Germany, I would steward at a classic car rally every year from when I was about 16. This was so much fun and I loved seeing all the beautiful cars.

What a gorgeous, gorgeous car!
It is the magazine with Wreck It Ralph cover and they have a whole spread about Destination D and the picture of our group at the Studios.

Nice ride. :thumbsup2

Formal night looks amazing and I like the dress you chose. I also prefer a ribeye steak to strip. The marbled fat gives it more flavor.

Hope the 3D world is treating you and Fran well. :goodvibes

I'm the same way with most people's TRs. The pictures are so big that I can't read the text when I'm on my phone. Then there is the whole thing with my phone crashing on me because it can't load all the images. That even happens to me on my own TRs.

Corinna

How fun! We've been going to a lot of car shows lately and seeing all sorts of neat cars.

That's an amazing car! :goodvibes

Thanks, and it's actually a real one, not a replicar. I'm a little afraid of driving it!

We're trying to find the magazine. I know I saw it around here, but didn't have time to look inside.

Nice ride. :thumbsup2

Thanks, it will need some TLC, the seats are a bit worn and it has some other issues, but it's still a pretty cool car!

Day 3 ( at Sea)

We had a standing order for coffee every morning at 7:30AM and it showed up nice and on time.

DSCN9271.jpg

I worked on the TR while Fran did this, isn’t she cute. :lovestruc: I do have to say that I joke about her shopping habits and her need for rest and sleep, but that never takes away from my enjoyment of our time together. We’re lucky to have so many common interests and things that we can share together

DSCN9272.jpg

I convinced her to go to a sit down breakfast at Triton’s, but along the way we stopped at this Christmas decoration. The first day that we got on the boat, you could hardly tell that it was here. However, by today it was sporting quite an aroma.

DSCN9274.jpg

It was very detailed

DSCN9278.jpg

There were all sorts of figures

The Gingerbread house was in the Promenade Lounge, located right next to the internet café. I found that I got a pretty good signal here and could write my TRs in my stateroom and then go to the Promenade to upload pictures and post the TR.

Fran started off with a chocolate croissant

DSCN9298.jpg

I had some coffee and orange juice

DSCN9300.jpg

She got the Eggs Benedict

DSCN9301.jpg

I got the Disney Cruise Line Breakfast Trio which was a waffle, pancake and cinnamon crusted French Toast with some bacon on the side.

DSCN9302.jpg

We actually split both. I ate one of the egg/muffin pieces and she had some of mine. It was more than enough for two of us and we couldn’t finish it all! I kept trying to capture pictures of the mural on the wall.

After breakfast we decided to go back to the room and get the computer. Our plan was to play Bingo at 11:00AM, but we had some time to kill. I wanted to see if I could get in a couple updates since I already had them written and the pictures uploaded. We stopped by the Promenade Lounge, and I got the computer out. Fran tried to read one of her library books, but she was falling asleep so she just succumbed to her sleepiness and put the book away. After about 15 minutes, I got in two updates, and so we headed off to Route 66 (which is the district of the Wonder for nightclubs and bars).

We bought the automatic updating bingo package. All you have to do is watch your screen, it plays 48 games at once and you dont have to do a thing! :lmao:

DSCN9307.jpg

DSCN9308.jpg

There were some pretty good lines for the Bingo Packages

DSCN9309.jpg

DSCN9310.jpg

DSCN9311.jpg

We played four different games. Traditional Bingo, Four Corners, GO, and Blackout. We won on the game of blackout! Unfortunately there were two other winners as well, so we had to split the pot. We ended up getting back about $120 to our account. We paid $50 each for the Bingo machines, so we were good. It was really fun, they did all kinds of corny antics to build up the excitement, like standing up when you had one number to go. As part of our winnings they also gave us six free games so that we could come back for a chance at the $10,000 bingo on Saturday, well see. :confused3

Its hard to see but this is my winning screen

DSCN9330.jpg

It was really corny and cheesy, but it was still fun. I wouldnt mind doing it again.

On our way to Bingo, we ran into our server who told us that Tritons opened for lunch at noon and that he would be working there. Id seen Tritons lunch on several peoples TRs and it sounded really nice, so I was all for going there. Besides I knew they had a burger on the menu, and Fran normally goes for that whenever she can.

Heres the lunch menu today.

DSCN9331.jpg

DSCN9332.jpg

DSCN9333.jpg

Fran started off with the Chilled Strawberry Soup, she really loved this, in fact she knew that she was going to love it so much, she ordered two of them right off.

DSCN9334.jpg

I had the Rockette Salad. I was afraid that these greens would be bitter, and they were a little bit. However on the scale of weeds that you can have in your weed salad, they are probably the least bitter. All and all it was good and light. It hit the spot perfectly.

DSCN9337.jpg

She had the Reuben Sandwich, this was OK. To make them more quickly and more healthy, they used a Panini press and not a lot of butter. While it was healthier, it wasnt as tasty as a Reuben fried on the grill in saturated fat!

DSCN9339.jpg

I got the Fettucine Pasta with Homemade Meatballs in a Rich Tomato Sauce with Parmesan Shavings. It wasnt as good as my own Spaghetti Bolognaise, but it hit the spot. I wouldnt call the sauce rich, in fact it was rather light, but it was good.

DSCN9342.jpg

I had to run to my New World Wine tasting seminar, but not before scarfing down dessert. I really wanted to try the rum cake and boy! Did it pack punch!

DSCN9344.jpg

So it was back to the Cadillac Lounge for the New World Wines, this means USA, Australia, New Zealand and South America. We again had a variety of reds and whites.

DSCN9345.jpg

Our host was the same

DSCN9348.jpg

We had a variety of wines. The first was a wine from New Zealand, a Sauvignon Blanc from Cloudy Bay winery. The second was a Sonoma County wine, Chardonnay from La Crema, not one of my favorite California wines, but not one of the worst.

DSCN9349.jpg

The next two were red wines and those were a King Estate Pinot Noir from Oregon and a Robert Mondavi Cabernet.

DSCN9350.jpg

We finished off with a Fairy Tale Celebration Cuvee

DSCN9346.jpg

DSCN9351.jpg

After the wine tasting I met up with Fran for a Gemstone Seminar. In actuality this was a massive sales pitch by the shopping guide in addition to a class, however one of the main reasons we wanted to go to this was for the coupon for the free pair of earring that she gave you. She talked all about the various diamond shops, tanzanite shop, and other rare jewelry that you could purchase in Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas. It wasnt a lot of information that Fran didnt already know since she is pretty knowledgeable on diamonds, their cut and clarity etc. I found that out when we were buying my engagement/wedding ring. It was less than an hour and we got all the discount cards and coupons we needed. Next I wanted to get a photo op with Ariel. Every other time we had tried to do it there was some kid or family in the way and I couldnt get near her without an unobstructed view.
