Forecast for our trip is looking good. However, Florida weather during December can change on a dime. That means for our family of 6 I have to pack everything but the proverbial kitchen sink. I know all about layers. We will all have fleece and waterproof jackets. I will pack 5 pairs of gloves, just in case, but that does just feel wrong with some days looking to be approaching 80*.

WDW in December... love everything about it, but packing!

Those teenagers will be packing heavier carry-ons than they have to for our AUgust trips, cuz we're still only doing 2 checked bags.

Any new packing tips or tricks that haven't been beaten to death on the boards?

I'm packing now, and I feel the same. I only have two kids but we're up to 6 bags, not including food!

what's the weather like where you ?Guess I would wear as much of the outerwear as possiblr& start unpeeling as I got further south :rotfl: if its any consulation it can be confusing for those of ud who live here too I work the overnight shift mostly outside I always debate long sleeves or short jacket or not your're right with temps abt 80 day & can get 50's night a/c then heat then a/c smart about gloves esp night shows Fantasmic, Illuminations even on the ferry look I wouldn't stress abt it the great thing is you're coming snd what a perfect time to be with so much new to see/do remember a cold day here betterthan being anywhere else sorry no real tips for you just encouragement

I know what you mean. We just got back from our the 3rd trip we've taken the first week of December. This trip (this past 3rd-7th) it was fairly warm at night- completely doable with long sleeves or shorts sleeves/hoodie. The gloves we packed didn't get worn. We were there in 2010 when it was frigid and just wanted to be prepared. Good luck! Enjoy your trip!

We leave tomorrow and are under blizzard warning. It hit -20 earlier this week. I'm just bringing sweatshirts. I think we'll be fine. Can always buy stuff there if we need to.

I was there in 2010 too, and you should see the pile of stuff I'm packing for my trip in a few days. Hopefully I can get it all into one checked bag and still be under the weight limit. My list runs from shorts to gloves. I want to be prepared for every possible temperature! I hated being cold that trip!

I feel the same way! At least I only have to pack for myself, and our trip is quite short. I'm definitely going with the layers thing, and bringing clothes for warm weather as well as a few cold weather things.

I guess my best tip would be to do laundry mid-trip. Yes, that can be a pain, but it's better than having to buy clothes after you get there because you didn't bring the right clothes. Luckily, you can usually do a couple of loads of laundry simultaneously, so it only takes about an hour-and-a-half, total. Totally worth it to me.

2010 was cold last year it was 85 on the first day of winter...we are packing a variety but I have my shorts and capris out this time. Last year I didn't pack anything for warm weather and regretted it.

Exactly... In 2010 we were lucky enough to tell the kids to just keep their NorthFace fleece jackets on for travel, instead of like usual leaving them in the car. Thank goodness!

This is exactly what I am cautiously watching out for... Not sure which I hate more, being cold or being hot. Call me Goldilocks, I guess.:rotfl:

So far for little guy, I have 5 pairs of shorts, 2 pairs of jeans, combo of ss and ls t-shirts, 4 hoodies, windbreaker and fleece jackets. For me, mostly capris, yoga pants and jeans. Ugghh! So much "stuff." Thanks for encouragement! I need it!

We r less than two weeks out and have been procrastinating packing. Crazy we are usually pack a month early. After 2010 Christmas we pack for all seasons. So since we need all our jeans and warm clothing now we will have to pack the day before we leave.

Thankful I only have to pack for4! We are from the snow but 50 is still cold to be out without gloves and warm coats to enjoy the parks at night.

Safe travels to you all enjoy the magic of the season.

We leave tomorrow, too. I have mostly capris packed, with a single pair of shorts and jeans. I plan on it being quite warm, according to the forecast.

There is a chance for snow flurries here in the am when we leave... so I will just suffer through the cold getting to the airport in my capris!!

This definitely applies to Indiana...but I feel like it applies to Florida too ;)

We were also there in 2010. It was actually warmer in my home town then the entire week at WDW. We were not prepared and had to buy a few things. We leave in 24 days and will be over packing this time.

In the same boat but we are driving so I have a little more wiggle room. Basically shorts AND jeans are going in the bags.
We leave tomorrow!!!!:cheer2:

Right now I am more worried about the rain in the forecast...We have our ponchos at the ready!

Our ponchos are in our Owner's Locker!! If it happens, it happens. Nothing much you can do about it, except prepare and go!!
