Did I just get pixie dusted?

I booked a Cat 6a with DVC points. I was just assigned room 5026. Is that one of the rooms with the oversized verandah? Does anyone have pictures of this or a similar room? Not getting excited yet until I know for sure. Lol!

Pixied Dusted yes...but not the oversized verandah. You got a 4E on the port side forward. The oversized verandahs are all the way aft.

You can see the deck plan here:

I thought the "oversized or extended" Verandah's were the 5E's. I just don't see on the deck plan where 5026 or 5028 on the Fantasy have an oversized verandah....oversized compared to what a regular verandah?

Sorry, I may certainly be incorrect but I just don't see that verandah as being bigger than other verandahs. Would love to understand why DCL says that.

Ok. Here's what I found. The Cat 4e's are all on deck 5. They have the same square footage inside as a Cat 5, but the oversized verandah is why it was reclassified as a Cat 4. The verandah's bump out and staterooms above can look down on the bumped out portion of the verandah. That does not bother me, so I am very excited to get the larger verandah!

Yep, that's it exactly. Plus, two rooms' verandahs (5150 and 5650) are both deeper and wider, for a total of about 4x the size of a regular verandah. We really enjoyed that! The kids thought of it as their own personal playground. :)

I saw from my research that there was quite a bit of confusion about this category. I plan to take video of the room and post all the details when I get back.

It is absolultely the case that the 4Es are on deck 5, have the same interior space as category 5 rooms, and have extended verandahs (mostly double the depth of a standard verandah). The 5Es are on several decks and are all aft-facing. Here is a photo of the verandah in our 4E on the Dream. There were 2 regular chairs, 2 loungers, and a table out there. We LOVED the oversized verandah.

Awesome looking veranda! What cabin number is this and is there an adjoining cabin so a family could book 2 cabins with larger verandas? Thanks

This is 5162, on the port side. It is an adjoining room, but I can't remember which side the other room was on. You should be able to tell from the deck plans.

We have room 5650 for the cruise we just booked in May 2014. The verandah in that room is twice as deep AND twice as wide as a standard verandah. Woohoo!

We have 5026 and it connects to 5028, and You definitely can remove the verandah partition to create a very large space. Some have complained that the people from the verandahs above you can look down on you. I say it's a fair tradeoff for the larger verandah.

We had 5026 on the Dream and it was amazing. It does have an extended balcony and it's next to a cabin (5024) without an extended balcony so you can easily see toward the front of the ship while on the uncovered section of the ship. It had four chairs and a small table. You can easily view the balcony and room of 5024 so my kids were under strict orders not to look. Although they had zero interest in what happened next door. It was a convenient location for the kids club and the movie theater. They did reclassify from a 5E to something else after we booked the cabin. Enjoy!

Thanks for clearning that up....it just did not look any different on the deck plans!!
