Disappointed

Come on, don't be such a skeptic. The story is completely different. In THAT story, the baby is a GIRL!!!! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2::laughing:

Henrietta??? :lmao:

Tree is up and decorated; house is decorated inside & out. Have bought all Angel tree gifts but 1. Bought 2 other gifts! I need to get in gear. But I'm still not sure what to get DS yet. I have some ideas, just not sure which ones to get.

Well I am really happy it wasn't true! I was 7 months pregnant when the post started too (our "due dates" were two weeks apart), and I was really sad for that poor lady. It was an entertaining read, but I do have to say that I while I bought it all along, I was a little skeptical (and jealous!) when "Henry" arrived right on his due date. Everyone knows 1st time moms usually go late, and just about no one has the baby on their actual due date!

:rotfl2: I had to chuckle a little bit.
My first child came 14 days early.
My second came right on his due date.

I SWEAR I'm the real deal. :flower3: What you see (read) is what you get!

(Just having fun with you.... ;) )

I never read the entire thread. Checked out a post or two early on and read the ending after it was closed to see what happened. Sorry she sucked in so many people and I hope no one was hurt by it.

As for Christmas, I am so NOT ready. But I'll get there once finals week is over.

I have an idea about how the mods figured out it was fake. I also think there are still quite a few fakers still here and posting regularly.
:thumbsup2 I agree!
However, I really hope that no-one sent money or gifts to that person. I know someone will say "it's their money to lose", but it bothers me that people scam money. Instead of giving the money to a stranger on the internet, donate it to a local charity that you know needs help.
I hope no one sent anything either. How awful.
She's gone. Both of her. :)

And put up our tree last Sunday and finished decorating it last night!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I wanted to update that because of this thread (and a slow day at work), I was able to almost complete my Xmas shopping for my DH!!!! :lmao:

Some good did come of it.... :rotfl:

Thank you WebmasterKathy for sharing......

What did you buy? I got mine some lounge pants and a scarf. Not sure what else to get him. I need stocking stuffer ideas.

My DS29 was born on his due date! I never went late with 4 kids :).

I had my first 2 on my due date, my 3rd was 12 days early due to a complication. My water broke with my third and it was like a slow drip. I had to have it broke with my first 2.

I'm such a cynic and thought from the beginning that it was bs, so I never posted on it. I know there are many fakers on this board and I know of one that lives near me and posts here, but she doesn't know I know  The lies she conjures up amazes me, but I don't want to call her out online, so I just let it roll off my back. I believe in Karma.

This reminds me of a thread a long time ago, about the girl who was pregnant with twins, possible boys, possibly girls, maybe one of each.:rotfl: Does anyone remember that thread?? I wish I could find it. It made me laugh on a daily basis.

While we don't normally comment on these matters, a lot of you are invested in this one. I want to share a little background.

We've known for a long time that this was a regular poster using a new alias. I think she even stated that in her first post. Not a big deal; we frequently see "I'm using a new name for this embarrassing post." :rotfl:

The two usernames were telling vastly different stories. This one had all the drama and international moves. The other incarnation was sharing little details of normal, happy couple hood and nice little things her DH did for her.

Again, tall tales are not a big deal. But as the drama escalated and the "baby" arrived, generous and caring people started talking about sending gifts and cards. That was the tipping point where the entertaining tall tale leaned toward taking advantage of people in tangible, real-life ways.

And that's where I closed it.

The poster was never in Canada or California, there is no Henry. I was in contact with the poster in question, there is no doubt about this being a mistake.

So that's the story.

I just don't get it. :confused3 :(

But thanks for the explanation.

I had my first on her due date, also. My second one was induced a little early.

I hope no one sent any gifts. I make it a rule NEVER to send gifts or money no matter what the story, but I know some people have bigger hearts than I do.

I don't want to give myself points over the other thread so I'll just share my pics of my mantel! I'm so so slowly decorating my house and this is the first thing done, well almost done. DH needs to help me hang a few more things.

I've done the berries and the greenery for a few years now, but the reindeer and the holly were my MIL's from when DH was growing up so I repurposed them after we inherited everything.
Sorry for the grainy pics, I took them with my phone.

OMG those reindeer are so cute and I LOVE your mantle decor, so pretty!!! You may have inspired me to get some holly berries for my mantle. :)

I have a pretty good meter for story telling but that one didn't set off the alarms, maybe a bell or two that it seemed off somehow but it still seemed believable in ways. I'm glad it wasn't true and glad I didn't get too invested in that thread. My DD24 was 2 weeks early, DD16 was a few days late and DD12, well she was 2 weeks late......LOL

Kerri, you'll have to share pics! I need to raid the suitcase with MIL's other decorations to see what other great vintage ornaments she had. The reindeer had sticks coming out the bottom to put them in plants, so I just pulled those out.
I have one lone red reindeer so I put that one in the dining room. I'll post pics of that when I'm done in there.

Thank you so much for posting Kathy! I was stymied when I saw the thread locked.

Personally I feel the mods should spill the beans on who it was. Who's to say she wasn't a liar liar pants on fire with her other user name too? Poster who befriended this person have a right to know.

Thanks for filling us in WM Kathy. I can't believe people have time to make up that stuff...I barely can chat about my own life much less making up a fake life to talk about.

So... Does this mean there was no sweet father singing outside her bedroom door while she sweetly nursed her newborn son?

Present preparation is going good here just need to wrap a few things and ship stuff to MN. Heading to Disney a few days after Christmas so that is my kids huge gift and of course mine.

I must be a sucker. Or a Pollyanna. Maybe I am a sucktacular Pollyanna. Or a really good one.

I fell for that story from the start. Her cats, well, they just broke my heart. Who could up and leave their kitties? I figured she was desperate to just get away.

Ah well. I fear I will still always err on the side of humanity so I'll probably fall for the next sob story. I'd rather do that than dismiss someone who truly needs support.

I am so proud of our community board. I think we all agreed for once on that thread.

You're a kind compassionate person as were the other posters who tired to offer helpful suggestions and then congratulations. IMO, you and the others should be proud that you cared about someone who you thought needed support.

is there more to the "catch" than a remark at the end of a closed thread?

if this person was a sham,, wow what a good tale spinner.

we once ran into a person who was a very good liar........ sold a friend a horse (across country) & it arrived wrong breed & spray painted!!:scared1:
she spun a tale of Oh, I'll send you complementing halter/blanket, yada yada, it was a nightmare..

.

Was this an intentional plug for the ShamWow or...? :rotfl2:

On Topic - kind of fits with the timing of that budget board post urging people not to give money to tragic thread posters :sad2:

What did you buy? I got mine some lounge pants and a scarf. Not sure what else to get him. I need stocking stuffer ideas.

I got some stuff for his favorite NFL Team, a sweater, some undergarments (exciting, I know) and I bot him Pez for his stocking, just the refills, not the dispenser.

I have a few more things to get for his stocking but at least I started.
