Wow, that is a lot of dough. I also booked June 29, 2014 but in a cheaper category.

We booked it 65 days out using VGT and paid $4100 and ended up in a 5A. I'll take my chances again. At these prices, i sense a lot of discounts in the future.

Just looked, and for our little party of 3, a 5A that week in 2013 is $7045 right now..yikes! Bye bye Mickey, hello Shrek. Allure is pricing much cheaper.

Big Disney fan here and am thinking about doing italy in 2014 over DCL. At these prices and lackluster ports so far its a no brainer. Italy it is.

These prices are making ABD (Adventures by Disney) even look reasonable.

The same cruise I booked that we are going on in March 2013 (same week and itinerary in 2014) is almost $1000 more than what I paid. Definitely will not be booking at the moment! I noticed before booking our last cruise, I checked the website everyday, multiple times per day, and prices fluctuated so much day to day. I'll check again in a week.

I agree. Back when there were only 2 ships, there was a real need to rush on the 1st day, not these days. This is even more true for those who don't need to buy airfare.

I might just cancel them all and buy flights when I'm able. If the cruise prices are great last-minute, we'll skip our hotel plans and cruise.

Has anyone seen any special sailings for the Magic, like a double dip? Or is it just the same old same old 3 and 4 days? That's all I've read about, but was hoping I might be wrong.

double dips are unlikely given they will have at least three ships visiting Castaway Cay. Don't forget the Fantasy also goes to it once a week. Given the schedules that have been listed with the magic alternating 4- 3 day cruises with the dream that would mean each of those would be there twice a week so that would be 4 days 3 and then add in the fantasy you get 5 days out of one week where Castaway Cay will have a ship docked at it. Something else to keep in mind is the people who run the excursions and the post office are from the neighbouring islands and may not be able to come in everyday of the week.

I think the original ones near Cookies have seen better days. I know it's supposed to be a rustic-looking theme but there's a lot of rust. I've been in nicer bathrooms in Mexico (Playa Mia Beach in Cozumel).

For people who have booked through a travel agent for 2014 are the prices equal,less, or more than the DCL website...I know you usually get more of an OBC then DCL website offers...just curious if u are actually paying for it if a travel agents price is more then the DCL website??

The prices should be the same whether you book through DCL or through a travel agent. Some travel agents share some of their commission with you in the form of an onboard credit.

Travel agents don't discount Disney cruises, but they might offer more incentives like better onboard credits, etc.

From what I'm seeing on the price threads for each ship, it is RIDICULOUS! What was the wait for? Disney not only didn't have any surprises, but obviously did not learn from their overpricing of 2013! I think they just priced me right out of sailing with them.

I have to say that if I had kids to take on a cruise with me, I would not be sailing Disney. It's a real tragedy that the cruise line that should be the one that tries to cater to families, has pretty much priced middle class families right out of the picture. $4000-$5000 for a cruise is out of the question for me, and that's the typical price for a family to go on one of these cruises. We are scheduled for some Disney cruises (for just 2 of us) through New Years of 2013/2014, which we got for at least semi-reasonable prices (incuding a new years b2b that actually came out on the new schedule) but the prices on just about everything else on the new schedule as well as the mundane itineraries are convincing us to start sailing other cruise lines. Heck, we can get a Boston to Quebec City/Montreal 7 day cruise for $549 per person for an inside cabin! Compared to another trip to the Bahamas or Caribbean at excruciating prices, that sounds like heaven!

We booked New Years on the Fantasy for 2013 when prices were first released (12/28 Eastern). With the 10% OBB, price was $5,565 - CHEAPEST stateroom on baord. I have to think it will be higher this year given the summer pricing. My guess is that the price will be comparable to mid-summer pricing.

But you never know whats in store. You may be able to do New Years on the Magic for less. Just depends on where they take her. So, the waiting begins . . . AGAIN!

We are doing New Years Eve/New Years on the Magic 2013/2014 because the price was so much better than it was on the Dream. I wouldn't call it low, but it's a New Years cruise! It was decidedly lower than on the Dream, though. We booked the New Years 2013/2014 sailing 12/29, on the Dream when we were onboard a cruise last May, but then a month or so ago we discovered the three day Magic cruise leaving on the 30th from Miami. I think it may not have been announced originally but maybe became part of the new schedule when they made changes. Not sure about that, because we didn't originally look for anything but the Dream.

In any case, we were hoping to do a b2b after the new years cruise but doubted we could do it since the Dream New Years was so expensive. We waited (very impatiently, as everyone on this thread did for the 2014 itineraries to be released and were elated to discover that there was a b2b for our Magic New Years cruise that actually goes to Key West instead of Castaway (the New Years cruise goes to Castaway though), and the price was such that we were able to get the two cruises b2b (six days) for about $100 more than we were originally paying for the one, four day Dream New Years cruise, and for that price, although we have an 11C for the New Year's leg, we have a secret verandah room for the second leg of the trip! Now we are excited! (BTW, the Jan. 2, 2014 three day sailing on the Magic was $405 per person for 11C with the 10% disc).
