Food recommendations at BOG

So...my DH could honestly take or leave Disney. It's not like he hates it, but there are places he'd rather go. Don't worry, I let him go other places too. :) Anyway, he surprised me by allowing me to book a long weekend in Disney for my birthday in January. I 100% intend on eating lunch at BOG one of the days. For other meals, we will likely either go places we've gone before that we know we like, or someplace in World Showcase (I already told him he could pick the restaurant of his choice there).

Anyway...obviously we've never been to BOG and I want to make sure it's not a "wasted" meal for him. DH likes his food (although you'd never know it...wish I had his metabolism!). He really isn't too picky and he loves any kind of meat. What should I tell him to order?

We haven't had the chance to dine there yet, either (but we have our ADR made). But most of the reviews I've read so far have been pretty positive as far as the quality of the food goes. If he's a meat lovin' guy, he might like the steak sandwich and fries. I'm looking fondly at the braised pork, though. There are some good pictures of the food here- just click where indicated:

I had the Croque Monsieur and really enjoyed it. It came with your choice of fries or green beans; I chose fries. It was a lot of food! I really wanted to try a dessert and just couldn't finish the sandwich. So the portions are probably perfect for someone like your DH who can eat a lot.

Here is our thoughts of menu offerings:
LUNCH:
. . . tuna nicoise salad - good, but light on the olives for my taste
. . . croque monsieur sandwich - nice, but Béchamel needs more nutmeg
. . . turkey on a warm baguette - good, especially with the dijon
. . . grilled steak sandwich - tasty, but slightly tough
. . . braised pork - recommended
. . . vegetable quiche - wife said she enjoyed it (men don't each quiche)
DINNER:
. . . pork rack chop - the pasta out-shined the pork
. . . rotisserie rock hen - nicely done and recommended
. . . pan-seared salmon - cooked properly, but average taste
. . . grilled strip steak - pretty good, not great, steak
. . . sautéed shrimp and scallops - were only average
. . . oven-baked ratatouille - above average

Reviews of the braised pork are generally better than those of the steak sandwich. I've only had the quinoa salad.

2 in our party had the steak, med rare and said it was quite tasty. My son had the pork, which was a bit dry but I requested a bit of extra jus and it helped. My vegan friend and I had the shrimp and scallops, good, not overcooked but not as good as I had hoped. We all tried the soups, French onion and leek, quite good. We also shared the salads, good. The girls had the child's steak (med. as requested) and substituted french fries for the veggies! That combined with the beautiful decor made for a nice meal!

It's not 4 star but for us it's a nice addition to MK!

Sorry - your vegan friend had shrimp and scallops?

Maybe she meant vegatarian because she also stated they had the leek and onion soup... those are a big no no for vegans with all that dairy.

I loved the pork. Notice, though, that it is served OVER the mashed potatoes. DH was glad he didn't order it, because he doesn't like it all piled up like that. The pork was tender, not fatty, and extremely tasty. I highly recommend it if you don't mind your food touching.

OH this made my DAY! Thanks!

I should have mentioned that we plan on lunch. But based on this thread, I think I will recommend the braised pork to him. Thanks for the advice!
