Greetings all. I have been an unofficial DisDad for 16 years now. I follow the FB thread, but don't do a lot of postings. Mr. Steve W. (sorry, don't recall his disboards name and I am too lazy to look it up) invited me over here, so perhaps I can become an official DisDad. He also said some of you may be cruising with DCL in 2014.

So, Hello!

Welcome aboard. Dues are payable in Dole Whips, bacon, beer, or cake. Steve will be around to post here soon enough.

Welcome to the Disboards version, I also follow the FB thread and website, I think some of the guys have talked about DCL but I think most are going in 2013, mines looking like 2015 -2017 so DD will atleast be 7-9

Welcome aboard! Glad to have you here!

More importantly, don't believe anything Steve says about us. We're not THAT bad... ;)

David it is good to finally have you here on this side of the DisDads also!! RAndall will be along to assign you an official number soon. For the record you can see that GoHerd1028 is my disguise here! :rolleyes1

Most of the Dads are harmless...watch out for Barry (FreezinRafiki) and Brian (Twokids0204) they sometimes bite! :lmao:

Welcome to the thread! If you haven't figured it out yet, Norm will eat and drink all your dues and then say they never got there.

And don't listen to CJ either, he is trying to build a new city on his front lawn using Disdad trailers. It's a Trap!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Canadian Thursday night ownage.

Yes. And thanks to your state for being the first line of defense against the Canadian penguins.

You're welcome. The Boundary Waters does a great job of keeping them at bay.

Penguins and polar bears can swim.

But penguins only live in zoos in Canada

Finally an explanation for the polar bear on LOST!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

That's exactly what we want you to think. :woohoo:

Propaganda, I would say I'd have a better chance of finding a Bigfoot in the woods or catching a Narwhal while fishing then seeing a penguin roaming around while in Canada:rolleyes1

The water keeps the penguins out? Penguins swim, but not in Canada unless they are in a zoo? The Canadians are hiding the penguins? Now we are LOST! And finally, there are Narwhales an a bigfoot in NJ?

Sounds liek I should have just skipped the last couple of pages. That's 10 minutes of my life I will never get back. :sad2::sad2:

I hope your DW does this for a business....very nice!

We have kinda been playing with the idea, she normally does cupcakes. Her and MIL did the backing all day yesterday, and did not kill each other or have a fight. DW was actually chipper when I say her before I went to work last night, early ever happens when she spends the day with her mom.

OK, this is killing me as I am the grandchild of a 2nd grade teacher and got beat every time I spelled something wrong. This is about the 5th post. No offense, but its BAKING not backing, unless I am missing something.:headache::headache: Sorry, I had to vent.

On the positive side, when you make the jump sign me up as the first investor in the business!:thumbsup2

‘Morning all…

Sat down and worked out the household budget with judicious savings for upcoming collage tuition added in. The realization…
We won’t be doing much traveling (or anything else) for the next 4 or 5 years (unless something major changes).

I already miss Disney.
I guess you can wish he drops out after his sophomore year. :confused3

(just kiddin') ;)

He's in denial.
I was going to make a Jungle Cruise joke but I see this group has that covered. :lmao:

Cool! I think the Backlot tour had run its course. Although I like LMA. My boys will be excited.

This still leaves the Avengers and Star Wars characters for their own theme park...
We have been to Disney 9 (or so) times since 2008 in Feb, March Oct nov & Dec. The Backlot tour was closed every time. We have never rode it. I say knock it down TODAY!

Hi guys...

well...I just got home around an hour or so ago. Was all set to be released around 10:30 or so, no issues. While answering the nurse's questions mentioned that for a brief minute, there was a slight "feeling"/pressure over the left chest. Immediatelty, more tests were ordered, then re-ordered. Basicly laid there in a bed for 7 hours untill I was cleared, with only a couple of small glasses of juice.
Man, I hope you feel better!

Booked our Nov 2013 trip today. :cool1: 7 nights at BLT. Can't wait! :cool1:
Suh-Weet!!!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

When did they allow 90 year booking?
:lmao::lmao: :lmao::lmao:

Possibly time warp again?

There are some birds that can be mistaken as a penguin since some look and behave very much like penguins and some can be found in Canada, they are in the family of birds called alcids, some birds in this family are Puffins,Auks, Murres, razorbacks,& Guillernots but biggest difference fron a penguin is that these birds can fly::yes::

The Canadians must be running out of penguins if they are recruiting the Puffins and Razorbacks! Air attack forces to support the ground troops! Scramble the jets and get them to Minnesota to repel the invasion! :sad2:

Was she there today? Did you make your move?

Lol, today I won't know, still at work and DGM had to pick DD up because she was running a fever

Join me this summer... and I can guarantee you a meeting with the Daycare teacher!

The universe is conspiring to keep you from talking with this lady.

Was she there today or still avoiding Philip? Will Philip summon enough courage to go anyway and "forget" his DD was home already? Is this the perfect time since DD has already prohibited interaction with the teacher and is not there? Don't change that dial. We'll be back tomorrow with more suspenseful action.

Wow! That's ginormous news (but kinda expected, I guess...) I hope they don't level Lights! Motors! Action! before February, as I've always wanted to see it.

I wonder if this changes the potential for DHS to feature an expanded Star Wars land in the future, given the LucasFilm purchase?? :confused3 Or... perhaps this gives creedence to opening up an entirely new park based on Star Wars?:thumbsup2

That's awesome news, wonder if it'll take away visitors to DL if they bring in mostly the same rides and attractions

Thanks for posting. Looks like we'll have some love at HS at last. Hopefully they'll use this as the first phase and we'll get more updating at the studios.:thumbsup2

Disney sure knows how to keep their hooks in us. DW and I keep going back and forth between buying DVC or building a new house. This pushes me towards DVC but on Sunday I am going on a home tour and that will probably sway me the other way. If only I could win the lottery...

Why not do both in one fell swoop. I think right now it'd take about 5 million to buy the points needed to secure a 3 bedroom villa in BLT till the end of the contract. (that doesn't include the money needed for annual dues)

That's what we keep saying......Hitting the lottery would certainly make college, that second home and DVC a little easier to plan for. They say money doesn't insure happiness, but I would certainly like to find out.:rolleyes1

None of that sentence sounds good.

Yeah, DW and I do one of those budgets each year. I know Dave Ramsey says to do a budget each month, but it is difficult enough for us once. The main problem is that our income is not rising, most categories got a slight increase, but nothing significant. The main problem category is savings. We don't save enough. If the mutual fund investing thing works, then I think we are ok for the future, but I would like to have a larger savings fund. But, unless I get another job or take out Disney vacations, there is not much money going in there. We have three old cars that won't last forever, and I'm not doing another car payment. The struggle continues....

I'm with you. We are a one income household with the wife home. I've tried to convince her to support me, but she flat out refuses to work right now.:headache::mad: I have 10% of every paycheck direct deposited into a savings account that we don't touch. This guarantees we save and it makes us live a little below our pay level to keep things in check. Also have some investments, but they should be ashamed of what they are returning on the investment.:headache:

We are starting to look at other income opportunities and things when can do from home, but nothing imminent yet. With College 5 years off, most of any extra is getting allocated there. We have 2 older cars and won't be getting a new one until DS is driving and I pass down mine.
