Most overused word?

Oh and another, seriously? or are you serious? No, I'm making crap up again. :rotfl2:

Troll is just a word used by people unable to logically refute another person's opinion. It's easier for some people to just call you a name when they lack the ability to form reasonable arguments...

Well, we are going to have to disagree that this is the only definition of this word as used on this board.

I find people on here use it constantly when it involves a story that sounds unimaginable. When you work in the at-risk world as I do, you have pretty much seen and heard it all, and so despite a story sounding far fetched, there is a good possibility that the person behind that story is telling the truth, and thus, should not be called a troll at all.

I have found in all of my years on the DIS, that I haven't really seen that many actual Internet trolls, compared to the amount of times this word is used.

Probably only because someone on the moderating staff learned that "Bless Your Heart" doesn't mean what most people think it means. (ask a southerner if you're confused... ;))

Shhhhhh! Don't let the secret out as to what "Bless Your Heart" is really code for! :lmao:

I don't disagree with you. In my time on this board, I've seen this tossed around quite a bit. Usually it's from someone unable to effectively argue... someone who who thinks that repetition equals "proof". Then someone will poke holes in their flimsy "argument" and will subsequently be called a troll.

In previous threads when people have complained about prayer requests, mods have said they were allowed and that it was just discussion of religion itself (or debate about it) that was a problem.

It has gone both ways, depending on the mod.

You probably didn't read the Subway fight thread!!

"Tacky" makes me think of a poster that used to be on here years ago named Totallia (or something like that) she had a roaring dragon in her avatar. Anyway, she used to go bat-crap crazy whenever someone used that word:rotfl: A few that I despise are..."preggers", "kiddos" "+1" ":thumbsup2" "this"

It's not a word but two - must/should/would/could/had of. It should be have, not of. I can only think people say that because the contraction sounds like 'ov' and I understand that, but it still bugs me, more so when it is written as of instead of have :) But if that's my only worry in life then I think I'm doing pretty well :)

Oh, and I hate it when my daughter replies 'whatever' to something I say to her that she doesn't agree with :)

I agree with you 100%! I am sorry because I am sure to offend someone here but i think a little less of people who do this. There, I said it.
