Wow. Just wow... Oh my I am touched by your generosity. I know I just patrol the gift shops sometimes and keep a few 10.00 preloaded gift cards on me. If I see a kid that just captures my heart with either something that I over hear them say, they just look so cute or nice in there outfits, or even if they look like they may need a lil help to have there experience a little bit more magical. I hand them a gift card and tell them that Mickey or Minnie asked me to pass this along to them. They light right up. I just say this because after a day in the parks I typically hangout in the gift shops before going to a room or leaving for the day.

What I would do is something similar preload a few gift cards keep them on you while your there and if you happen to see the same find a cast member and ask them to pass them along to the kid you point out and kind of blend in the area and watch the reaction if you want or you can just leave the CM will most likely take it to them. Just explain what your doing to the CM. They will for sure help spread the magic.
SeniorPrincess & Venomhatch - do you mind if I steal this? We've had some pixiedust: in our lives recently and I'd love to spread some around! I can't think of a better way!

Go ahead by all means spread the magic of giving!

If you book a Royal guest room would it be worth it to book one with a Garden view or would u just book a RGR with a standard view? Does it really make a difference to you for vacation?

Also do u think its silly to book a RGR if you're doing a Solo trip?

We'd prefer not to be looking at a parking lot, but then again we don't spend much time in our room looking out the window. In the past we have paid extra for preferred rooms but not for specific views and haven't had a bad view yet. Right now we have a garden view reserved for our next trip since standard wasn't available with our discount and we're hoping to get a mansion room (not RGR).

If you love the theme of the RGR and have the money then I think it would be worth it to stay in one. Good luck!

Which AB buildings are the garden view category?

Last trip I requested & got building 38. Loved it & had planned on requesting the same but could only book garden view this time.

Oh, Venom, I LOVE the idea of telling them about Mickey or Minnie! :cool1: Since we will be wearing our Senior Princess hoodies some days, we could say a Princess asked us to pass it along too. So I can get these gift cards loaded at the POR gift shop? While I know we will "recognize" some kids who should get special recognition, I like the idea of working with CM staff too because they may know about some kids who are there on special programs like Make a Wish, right? :littleangel: What fun we will have. And wow, the weather forecast looks terrific for next week. :beach:

Yeah since being here I have heard so many ideas of how to do things or parents cooking up a story and then asking me to play along. Princess idea is great also! Gift Cards are sold almost anywhere on property and off property.

I just had a garden view RGR last week. I think its worth not having to look at a parking lot. It enhances the vacation experience for me. Less real world, more Disney magic. ;) JMHO, of course.

I loved the royal room, why not book one for a solo trip? Go for it!

FOUR more days & we will be with all the magic!!!! Ugh, finally started parking last night. I check out the weather.com for all of next week & it's all rain!! :(. I am very bummed. Praying its wrong, wrong, wrong!

It's looking pretty good here. http://www.weather.com/weather/5-day/The+Walt+Disney+World+Resort+FL+USFL0615:1:US We will be there in four days also. I know the weather reports around where I live in Florida always have a chance of rain listed, but it's always sunny instead. When it does rain, it's generally brief, it can be very heavy, but brief. Showers come and go very quickly. I think this would be the case, if it ends up raining at all. *knock on wood* :)

A bit hard to say unless you tell us your criteria - do you want a mansion building or Alligator Bayou room, near to food court, parking lot, bus stop, pool? If AB, then asking for buildings 16 or 17 are good choices.

I agree about breakfast at Boatwright's. They stopped it in Feb 2009, bad move IMHO.

Andre

The closer to the bus stop and especially a taxi the better. We tend to start out our trips using the busses but end up using taxis towards the end of the trip or if we have an ADR at a hotel. We will use the food court sparingly and the kids will want to try the Ol' Man Island pool a few times, so those two aren't very important. I like AB rooms but my husband would like to try the mansion buildings. Is the Magnolia building closer to the lobby(taxi) than AB 17 or is it me? Thanks for your help.

We leave in 2 days - we're so excited! Just wanted to thank everyone here for all the help and information as we planned our trip! Can't wait to get to POR and see the beauty in person :)

Thats what we are here for. Have a magical visit!

Looks like we will have lots of company on our trip. :cool1: So excited to be there.Look for the older couple:laughing:(yes... accused of being grandparents quite often!)with DS9 and DD7 in the food court, around the pool, in the lounge or lobby or riding the ferry to DTD to shop and say Hi!:flower3: We are at the stage when the 4 older kiddos stay home more then come along. Guess being 30,25,20 and 18 will do that to you. They have all loved it in their time tho.

We are doing MVMCP:santa: on the 9th and then staying off site:sad1: as getting into a Disney resort at midnight or later seems like such a waste of magic minutes :confused3

We will check in on 12/10 and stay 4 nights on site in a RR at Parterre Place. Turns out that faxing in request has worked out well for us this time.:cool1:

Even tho we will check out on Friday we plan to stay the entire day on site and enjoy a few last things before we head home.

First time ever we are taking 2 days down and two days back, health sorta demands it but what a fun thing for us. We usually get in the car and go until we arrive in Orlando around noon the next day after 16 hours on the road. Guess we are getting old for sure. :sad2: 1000 miles is a 1000 miles still a lot of travel before we pull into POR-R Oh for the days of $49 dollar flights, we used to fly lots more then drive but we do what we have to do and my youngest are happy about it!

:cool1::cool1::cool1:Just wanted to give a shout out to Andrewilley for encouraging me and pointing me in the right direction for my fax. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:

Thanks to all for the help and tips. I received an email in response to my fax that our room requests will be taken care of! I have sent a fax on our last two trips (ASM and CBR) and never received any response. This shows me that POR must have a very high level of customer service. We arrive Sunday (me, DH, DS10) and we couldn't be more excited. Now just one last day of school and a swim meet and we will be on our way! Oh, and a whole lot of packing lol.
