Do you have a Wow! gift?

My Wow gift is an iPhone 4S that looks brand new. My husband kept his in a case and upgraded. We have the box and my DD has no idea she is getting it. I am going to find a box that contained something she would not want and surprise her.

Lisa

Walmart has "gag" gift boxes. I got dh one for a "pet petter" so you don't have to touch your animal :rotfl:

My dd's wow gift is art desk. She's only 4 but she spends most of her time drawing and coloring so we wanted to get her a space of her own to create. I also got markets, paints and everything else I could think of to go with her desk.

She is also hopefully getting the dollhouse I have been making her this past year. She already knows about that so I don't think that will be the wow gift. I do want to finish it so I can put it in the living room on Christmas.

Our WOW gift this year is 3DS XL. Both my step son who is 11 and my DD6 will be getting one. My step son has a very old DS and my DD has never had one, she uses the Leapster Explorer. She, I know will be very excited about the upgrade. My step son I think will be excited to get an upgrade as well but it's hard to tell with him sometimes. He asked my DH for an iPad but that isn't happening. Not in the budget to spend that much on each of them. Besides that if anybody gets an iPad it will be me before the kids, lol. But since my step son is a gaming nut I think he'll be happy with the upgrade...I hope.

We just gave our DS 4 his wow gift this week - a 1 1/2 pound chihuahua puppy he named Katy Perry. It was going to be a laptop but he has asked for two months straight for a "puppy with pointy ears", wrote a long letter to santa (well dictated) about why he would want a puppy, told santa as soon as he saw him about it and kept talking and talking about it. we had to do it early bc we got an amazing deal but the breeder wasn't willing to hold her until christmas. It definitely was a wow for him - he was speechless - which he NEVER is.

santa wrote him a letter saying that he was very impressed with DS's letter asking for a puppy to love and that he would break his rule of only giving gifts on christmas bc he had a puppy which needed love immediately and if DS signed an agreement to feed, clean up pee/poop, walk and love it all without complaint. He did so an elf stopped dh on the way home and gave him the puppy. And I have to say, DS is doing a GREAT job with his duties so far.

I do have a wow gift for my DS (26). I loaned him a significant amount of money to attend nursing school (my late husband and I had already paid for one undergraduate degree at a private school - this was going to be degree #2). He has been working as a pediatric ER nurse for 18 months and has re-paid half of the loan. For Christmas this year, I am wrapping the loan notebook and marking it "Paid in Full". He will be very surprised and I can't wait to see his reaction. :goodvibes

Love this!!!!!

Awwww, what a sweet story. :goodvibes

Kids are both getting TV/DVD combos, so they will both be "wow"ed by that. They have been wanting TVs for a long time!
DS5 should also be wowed by his air hockey table from Santa!
And DD9 is getting lots of barbies, including one giant Bratz doll she will love!
:goodvibes

I'm sooo excited to be able to tell someone about my ds's big present. He's getting to drive a nascar racecar for 8 laps around Richmond International Speedway. He is in auto tech at high school, has worked on a friend's pit crew this past summer and is crazy about cars. You have to be 18 and he turns 18 in Feb and the drive is in April. I also was able to get him a diecast car signed by one of his favorite drivers.

This year the kids' big gift is a laptop. They have to share because I wasn't buying 3. :rotfl: They will actually get it on Christmas Eve day though. Last year we got the kids a Wii with some games and we went out for breakfast and when we got home there was a note on the front door saying they had to go on a treasure hunt to find their treasure. So I left clues all over the house until they found the Wii. Well of course now they think every Christmas Eve Day they are getting a "big" gift to share and we will have a treasure hunt to find. DH got an unexpected bonus this year so we were able to buy them a laptop.

It is also DD's birthday so she gets her Birthday gifts, we go out for breakfast, and then they will do treasure hunt to find laptop.

On Christmas morning their big gifts are DS11 NHL Hockey Jersey, DD Kindle Fire HD, DS13 Art Desk with all of the supplies. He loves to draw but wanted real stuff not crayola. DH will be surprised because I got him everything on his list this year due to sales.

DS - 12 ~ A *refurbed - straight from Apple.com* 32GB 4th Gen iPod touch! Also Lego R2D2!

DD - 9 ~ A Kindle Fire and American Girl Caroline *of all the historicals C looks the most like DD.

Not any really big gifts this year as they already have all the big items. So, getting a bunch of smaller items like Gaming Chair, Beats Earphones and a bunch of gift cards for DS13 and UGGS and Electric Scooter for DD11.

But there is one gift I can't wait for DS13 to open. Both my kids go to our Private Church School. It is a small school for K-8th. Each class has about 20-25 kids and everyone knows everyone and kids have been with each other for 8-9 years. Well, he starts High School next year and we have been going back and forth on which school he will be going to. Many of the kids in his class will be going to the Private High School affiliated with our Church. There is no bussing and is probably 10-15 miles from home. And Tuition is about 3-4 times what we are paying now. So, we told him we didn't think we could do this, especially when his sister will be in High School in 2 years. He really wants to go to this school so bad. So, in October I spoke with the Principal of the High School and went over different Grant's and Scholarships that were available and he said no matter what we will work it out and be where you need to be. So, we went over everything and with DH's extra 2 paychecks a year and my yearly bonus we can pay the Tuition and have extra to put away when DD is there.

Anyway, to make a long story short. We have not told DS he is going to school here. I ordered a Sweatshirt, Running Pants and Bag with the School Logo on it and am wrapping it up for Christmas. I can't wait to see his reaction - he is going to be so excited. I think this school will be a really good fit for him and if everything falls into place - my office building is moving about a mile from the school. So, looks like things happen for a reason...

That's awesome!

I forgot to mention my other Wow gift is a car for DD17. We were going to get her one in a few months (she can get her license in February) but I came across a great deal on an older car in excellent shape, so we just got it now. I'm getting one of those enormous bows for it :goodvibes

My son's Ipad. I know he is expecting to get one for Christmas. He is getting it 2 weeks early though, on his birthday.

As fow a Wow! gift on Christmas, I did get him the Halo game he asked for. I know he is not expecting that at all.

My big WOW gift to the kids is a puppy! Well technically he's not still a puppy since he's about a year old. We have been fostering a dog and he's really a good match for our family so DH & I agreed we should keep him. He's so good with the kids and is eager to please. I just called the rescue/animal hospital this morning to let them know we are making it official. :woohoo:

I'm going to put a big red bow on our newest family member and wrap up his adoption papers. I'm not sure that it will be a big surprise to the kids because they know how much we all love Dakota.

Wow gift for dd is her Taylor Swift tickets. She has no idea and will be very excited:)

And the WOW gift for ds is Lego Mindstorm. He also has absolutely no clue. In fact, I was at a information night for a school I am hoping to move him to next year and they said they had a Lego Robotics club!!!! I almost fell over. When I researched one for him the closest was 2 hours away but we were willing if he got really invested in it to drive him for meets etc. I was so excited to have something local!!!

My daughters Santa gift this year is a portable DVD player. A little pricey but better than the MacBook Air she was originally going to ask for. She is 12 and wants the DVD player for sleepovers. I can't give her a lot throughout the year so I really try to go all out for Christmas. I am giving her 4 wii games and her stocking will have a bunch of gift cards and movies and other small stuff.

Here's a portable DVD player for $48:

This was our plan too! We had the most amazing little foster dog in our home and I was going to go up to the shelter last week to fill out the papers, pay for and adopt him...then we'd tell our girls for Christmas. Just as I was getting in my car to go to the shelter, we got a phone call. A family who had met with him once or twice BEFORE we fostered him decided THEY wanted him. It only took them a month!

My husband and I were sad. My girls were cheering "YES!!! He found his FOREVER HOME!!!" they were a little sad, but they were told that he was only with us until he went to his forever home! They would have been a lot more sad if they had known our plan to adopt him! We were an hour too late!
