How does CA feel about sharing Cars Land?

The DIS has confirmed from multiple sources that Disney will officially announce this week that they are bringing Cars Land to Disney's Hollywood Studios. Lights, Motors, Action! and the Backlot Tour will be leveled to make room for an expansion of Pixar Place to include the new land. Disney opened Cars Land at Disney California Adventure back in June to rave reviews and this would be a much needed boost to DHS, which is starting to show its age.

While we don't know yet which attractions will be included with the new expansion, attractions like Radiator Springs Racers have been wildly popular and most likely would be included.

DHS needs something, but I was hoping it would be something unique. Especially since I just booked a DL trip! ;) But, overall I just like the idea of unique attractions.

I like unique rides as well, but I'm also all for sharing. RSR is great and if it's at DHS that means more chances to ride it when I'm at WDW. Having Carsland (or some variant of it) at DHS would not diminish my fun when I'm at DCA.

I thought they already had Test Track, which reopens tomorrow.

Test Track (well the old version at least) and RSR are very different...at least to me. It's kind of like Dinosaur and Indy Jones use similar technologies, but the rides are completely different.

Agree 100%

And right now, DL has both the better versions. Or so I'm told since I never made it on Indy. Sniff.

Being a native CA and vistor to both DLR and WDW I don't mine if WDW gets a Cars Land as well. It might be financially beneficial for Disney to keep it at DLR to force visitors to travel to DLR. I know that WDW has lots of property to expand so I say why not, however maybe Disney Pixar should consider something like Monsters Inc Land for WDW.

It seems a waste of money and resources. They should put the cash into a Star Wars land. That would make DHS a major destination, it fits thematically, and it would be unique. Frankly, with the acquisition I am surprised this wasn't task #1. A cars land clone will work too... But it's lazy.

I'd say RSR and TT are more similar than Dinosaur and Indy, but that RSR is the plused version. If the situation were reversed and the decision was to bring TT to DLR I would consider that a waste of money.

Based on the rumors going around on other boards it sounds like WDW will likely get a Cars Land 'Lite' without a lot of the rockwork.

I am excited.. While I will be able to experience RSR next August at DLR, I cant wait to go back to WDW in 2014.. (Yes, I know that it will not be built by then.)

I don't mind if they build a CL in WDW because it is really amazing, but I do think it makes it more fun to travel to a different park if they have unique things to see and experience. It makes the expense of traveling further worthwhile...otherwise it's harder to justify spending more travel money to see basically the same things (speaking as someone much closer to one park than the other).

I guess it's okay, because we all know that CarsLand at WDW won't be as good as the one at DLR :), I do find it sad that Disney can't come up with new ideas and has to take ideas from DLR. But it will be a 2nd rate land, probably be a lot like the PoC ride at WDW.

I'm happy for DHS, because I feel that it really needs more rides.

I'm not excited for Carsland at WDW, because I really want WDW to do something really big that will make us HAVE to come back. WDW is closer to us and cheaper than DL, but DL seems to have some much more going on. I think we made more than a half a dozen trips to WDW between 2002-2006, we cancelled in 2007 because I was pregnant (what's WDW without booze?!? :drinking1) and we haven't been back since, nor have we had the itch to plan a trip.

They should take the RSR and Test Track technology to make an outdoor Indiana Jones Ride at the Animal Kingdom. You could have an indoor component where you go in a cave or something then you can outrun the big rolling rock, then be shot out into the jungle where you speed around avoiding the evil archaeologists.

I can all but guarantee that they won't build Luigi's Tires at DHS!:rotfl2:

Haha You said it! I can't speak for all of us in California but for me I hate it I absolutely hate it! Walt Disney World is so big they have so much potential and possibilities are endless for them...everytime we get something here it ends up at Walt Disney World.. I would love to have RnRc and dinosaur and EE but I never get none of those here and I don't care that we have Mr. toads or Matterhorn... I think that we should be able to get some unique things ourselves and keep them... But that's just my opinion nothing more

It gives me hope that WDW will start gearing toward boys more. DHS is a perfect place for more Pixar additions. I wouldn't have minded if it was something new, but I'm not disappointed. We're planning our first DLR trip, but I know (if we make it back) we won't be making a return trip for years - possibly a decade. WDW is practically a yearly trip for us, so I like that it will be more accessible for this Pixar loving family :).

If they want to clone something, I wish they'd do Monsters Inc Hide and Go. That ride looks amazing and doesn't exist at any domestic park.

I'm torn. We loved carsland and it would be nice to have it just up the street. But then why do we fly across the country? It seems like every year the parks get more and more "cloned". There is nothing unique to buy anymore. At DL they were selling shirts with Cinderella's Castle at DHS they are selling HMH merch. It is hard to justify the trip.

I do wish they'd give us something unique. (And I'm not talking about Avatarland. Ew!!)

If I wanted Disneyland (which I do) I'd go to Disneyland. When I go to WDW (which I also do) I like it to be unique. Imagineers need more imagination. Give us reasons to park hop!
