Bonjour! I will be visiting Disneyland Paris on Monday, December 10, 2012 in order to complete my journey to all five Disneylands in one year. Because I'm from Hawaii, I really don't like the cold. How cold is it at Disneyland Paris in early December? Will I have to buy a parka and snow boots? :)

It was very cold in December last year! Thermals and layers :)

It will be cold, potentially very, very cold! We went last year in December and it was fairly mild in terms of a Northern European winter but it was still a thick coat and warm clothing weather. But previous years it snowed and was, quite literally, freezing.

Obviously as the time draws nearer you can get a sense of the type of weather France is experiencing, but be prepared for very cold weather. Also I am from England so I am used to colder weather, therefore the mild weather I spoke of may actually represent very cold to you!

Thank you both for your responses.

Yes, I think I agree. Anything less than 21°C is cold to me, anything less than 15°C and I'm freezing. I have just ordered a parka and thermals from Land's End, which just happened to be having a 30% off sale. I guess I'll have to find a hat, scarves and gloves now :)

OT: Your goal with all 5 disneylands in one year is sooo amazing. Have you made a TR or ablog or something, where you share more about it????

Very jealous!!!

We've always said that if we won the lottery we'd do a tour of all the Disney parks!

The new Shanghai one looks very exciting.

We were there in December two years ago, the fountains were frozen and I thinkit was -5. However, it was still great. Get a hat that covers your ears, warm gloves and thermal socks!

The whole Christmas atmosphere will keep you warm!,,;)

I only recently found this website, so I didn't even know about Trip Reports. But I'm going to all 5 again in 2013, and I will definitely make a Trip Report then.

BTW, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea were amazing! Hong Kong was very small, but they are expanding. The original Disneyland is still my favorite and now they have RSR, which is the best ride ever! I can't wait for my trip to WDW and DLP! :)

This is how cold it was when we went in December 2010 :rolleyes1

What an awesome photo. I am visiting in the first week of December and then my two teens and I are off to Paris for a week and then hiring a car and driving around France followed by a week and a half in Italy. My daughter feels the cold so much. As it is Winter here in Australia now I am buying up big on thermals, coats, hats, gloves, we'll probably have excess luggage before we even leave let alone on the way back but hopefully we will be able to stay warm. We are counting down the days.:dance3:

Tiradan,

We have been November/December for the past five years (can't help but adore the Christmas theming) and the weather has been completely different EVERY time!

We were there 2 years back when it was like a scene from "Day after Tomorrow" so last year we took scarves, hats BIIIIG jackets, etc and literally took them for a journey!! Lol half the time I was in a tee shirt!

You'll either need to a) pack for every eventuality or b) set aside a few quid for some warmer clothes if needed!

Lastly, very jealous of the worldwide Disney tour, certainly on our to do list! Though I think a lottery win would be in order!

Sorry to hijack I don't have anything useful to add. Just wanted to say TOTALLY JEALOUS of your one year five castle tour! And you're doing it again next year? :cheer2: That is one TR I can't wait to read :thumbsup2

Personally I have a goal to get to all 5 (soon to be 6) Disney parks in my life lol!

Thanks everyone for the responses and the photos!

Thanks for the advice! I'm going with option A). I've already bought a parka and long underwear and will soon buy gloves, a hat and a scarf. I have no idea what I'll do with these in Hawaii, but I guess I can plan more trips to cold places :)

I was lucky because I got sent to Asia for work so I didn't have to pay for the airfare or the hotels, just for the park entrance. BTW, Tokyo Disneyland is amazing!

Yes, I plan on visiting all 5 again in 2013, and hopefully all 6 in 2015. I'll make sure to post a trip report. Have you seen the YouTube video of the castle at Shanghai Disneyland? It's going to be amazing :)

Finally, we do have a bit of Disney here in Hawaii now that the Aulani has opened. Please come and visit, it is very nice!

Only 5 more days till Disneyland Paris! I'm so excited. Does anyone have tips to get a one day park hopper for a good price? Should I just buy it at the gate?

You can buy ^^ for 45€ and it's good for any day except the 8th/15th/16th/31st Dec.

or you've got the standard Francilien - same price but must be bought at least 5 days before a visit so for the 10th you just scrape through

http://www.fnacspectacles.com/place...-DISNEY---FRANCILIEN---1J---2-PARCS-MI285.htm

Both costs an extra 50cts to print off

Prepare for freezing cold - it will be below 0 and feel colder with the wind chill :)

OMG I am so jealous.. you are one lucky duck. I hope you have a fab time in Paris. Which hotel are you staying in?

Thank you Carrie_Cat! I used the website you provided and bought and printed my tickets! Woohoo! I am SOOO excited!

I bought this parka to keep me warm. I also bought a scarf, a hat, gloves, long underwear and very thick socks, so hopefully I won't be too cold. I am not sure what I will do with all these clothes once I am back in Hawaii :)

Thank you paulinefc! Unfortunately, I am not staying at an on-site hotel. Fortunately, I am staying in Paris at the Four Seasons George V :)
