Gorgeous pictures!!!!!!!

I just want you to know...I am lurking in this thread. Still totally happy for you both, and bummed that we didn't magically run into each other during F&W. Gonna go catch up w/your recent posts now.

I'm going to guess that EPCOT is your favorite park. :rotfl2:
I LOVE the F&W festival, DM and I went last year and YUM! We loved it so much that we cancelled some ADRs to go back and sample more food. :rolleyes1 When asked why we were cancelling I replied "Because we are headed to EPCOT!" The CM said she totally understood. :lmao:

When I rode Living with the Land last week, I thought "There's someone on the DIS who loves the Blueberry boy". I couldn't remember who it was but now I know!

Would you believe the line for it was 40 minutes? It stretched all the way back almost to the entrance to Soarin'. We rode Soarin' using fastpasses and by the time we were done, the line had gone down to 20 minutes. I think we waited about 15 to get on. First time I think I've ever waited in line for Living with the Land!

Your parents look lovely... that is kind of funny that you ran into them in Epcot...:rolleyes1 ... hmmm is this Epcot love genetic?

Yummy Food & Wine pics...

Hey...my boys just surprised me with an owl in Japan...:) I LOVE owls... hmmm. mine is white... I have to see is I can find the sheet to see what white symbolizes... (I hope its something good...)

Morocco really is quite a beautiful pavilion... but I'm just particularly fond of the whole France-Morocco-Japan stretch...:thumbsup2

I am joining along!

I love POFQ, one of my fav resorts!

Love all your Epcot photos, especially the watermelon patch..lol

Oh Epcot! I love that park! :cool1:
That flamingo in Mickey ears is just too cute.
Wow, I've seen some bad Swiss cheese pictures on SE but Wingnuts is really bad! Note to self, don't look down. :thumbsup2

I'm with you, I totally want the mickey flamingo! Maybe when we move back into a place with a yard, I'll convince DH that we NEED it, lol! ;)

Oh my gosh, poor wingnut, he looks like his future has seen better days, I sincerely hope his future is less swiss-cheesey! :rotfl:

Ahh, that flamingo! It's awesome! I'm actually getting my mother that for Christmas, because she loves those tacky plastic yard flamingos. I don't think a yard should be a requirement for purchasing one. Like you said, it could've kept Planty company. :goodvibes

Who doesn't get a kick out of Blueberry Boy on LwtL??

Sounds like you two were having an enjoyable time at Epcot, hope it transfers over into your ADR...

Wingnut! You should have let Stringbean buy the Mickey ear wearing flamingo. Who said you must have a lawn to have a lawn ornament? I actually bought one of the flamingos for John because he thought it was the cutest thing. He's out in our yard right now...protecting my marigolds.

I hope my Disney obsession passes on to my kids! I think I have 1 hooked for sure, and the teenage boys are on the brink. They were pretty impressed, but didn't get to go when they were little, so I may have not hooked them early enough! :lmao:

Hahaha awww, there is never just one age to get hooked on Disney, don't worry!!! :thumbsup2

We have funny posting mojo this morning! Sorry I posted right in the middle of your update, I didn't know you were updating when I posted!!!

OMG, that scene in Living with the Land with the house! I will always laugh now. When we were on it in January, we rounded the corner (or entered the room, I forget how it is) and at the EXACT same time, Dylan (my 18 year old) and I both said in voices dripping in sarcasm "Oh look, it's HOME". I burst out laughing, it was so funny that we both thought the same thing. We live in a rural area and don't really LOVE a lot of the rural aspects, so it was just funny. Sorry...rambling on your TR on top of posting right in the middle of an update! :scared:

Hahaha we do!!!

LOL I always thought the farmhouse scene is cute, but our area is not rural like yours!!

Whew! I thought at first you were going for a Mickey gnome but the flamingo is totally something I would sport on my front lawn! Glad to see blueberry boy made an appearance. You may need to consider paying him some royalties for use of his image since he's now become so popular!! :lmao:

I love Morocco (except for the incense smell in the shops) and we finally went into that Morocco Style building to look around. I like the henna tattoo history where the married women do no work until the henna disappears!! ;)

Love the update!!

Nah, I'm definitely more of a flamingo person!! LOL I wonder how old Blueberry Boy is now, that picture had to have been taken awhile ago!

I've heard of that henna tradition before! The designs are so cool, I love them!

Yippee! You're finally at Epcot!

Nice to meet the parents! You definitely look like their daughter!

The food looks delicious!

Hahaha yes, we get that ALL the time!! :goodvibes

You must use two picture hosting sites because I can see some of your pictures.

I just saw a picture of that pink flamingo somewhere and it is SO cute. How could Wingnut put the nix on that. Of course it would be the perfect accompaniment to Planty. I couldn't agree more.

So you REALLY wanted to jump in the cranberry bog? :rotfl2: That's all I can say - :rotfl2:

I'll stop back later to see more pics.

Oh yeah - the diver in the tube - crazy. I have not see that before.

That's strange...I only use Flickr. Maybe it's when my pictures are from my phone vs my camera? Let's do a test:

Camera:

Phone:

I think they could have become the best of friends!!!

Given the opportunity, I ABSOLUTELY would have gone in the bog! I think that's awesome!!! :thumbsup2

:yay: Yay, I made page 11!!! :guilty: Sorry I missed the start of this. :flower3:

Hahahaha glad you made it!!! :goodvibes

Blueberry boy is the cutest! Sure, there is corn father and son, but blueberry boy just owns Living with the Land. It cannot be denied.

Hahaha, I would love to see someone doing the I Love Lucy grape (cranberry) stomping! TOO funny. :lmao:

Hahaha agreed!!!

That would be amazing!!!! :rotfl:

My daughter Lauren has a venus fly-trap named "Chompy".....they should have a play-date.

It's great to "meet" your parents! (TR-wise, of course) :)

Awwww I think Planty and Chompy would get along great! :thumbsup2

I think Planty would have loved the flamingo with Mickey ears as a roommate! Hmmm what would you have named him?

I agree!!! Hmmm...I hadn't thought about that. I feel like I can no longer see flamingos without thinking of MeMom and Bella, so Mingo it may have to be! :goodvibes

Caught up again! It's too bad you don't have a lawn - those flamingoes are so funny! I'd love a palm tree at my house too, but there is no way it would survive here lol That diver giving a demonstration is pretty cool, I've never seen that either! And I can just picture the cranberry bog scene, makes me giggle :)

Okay, I will share just a coupl wedding pics lol
I love how I have a beach, palm trees, and the GF in my wedding pics lol

KM17879-9-10-2.jpg

Hahaha yeah, I could never have a palm tree here either!

Your wedding pictures are stunning!!! Thank you for sharing them!!! It looks like you had a wonderful day!! :goodvibes

Living with the Land never gets old for me.. And bluebery boy is the cutest up there- hands down!!

When we were there I had the same thought "I really want to get in there and smash em up like Lucy!" hahahah :D

I miss Epcot! :(

Hahaha he really is!!!

LOL I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking it!!!

I'm just joining in! I discovered your previous trip report when I was searching for people who had traveled to WDW in January in preparation for my upcoming trip. I was hooked after reading your first few posts because your sense of humor is so in line with mine! It was like reading a transcript of one of my own internal monologues!

Can't wait to have some time to catch up on this TR and follow along with the rest of your trip!

Welcome!! Glad to have you here!! :goodvibes

Hahaha thanks!!!

I have a confession...I've never noticed Blueberry Boy! I'll have to look for him the next time I ride Living with the Land...for some reason, I feel like I shut my mind off by the end of that ride and am lost in my own thoughts or something! :confused3

Haha, we have that flamingo in our yard! I love it, but it got really dull really fast!

I would love to stomp around that cranberry bog for a while. I feel so bad for those guys who have to stand in that all day and answer people's stupid questions about cranberries when all they probably want is some shade and a beer! :rotfl:

(Ok, maybe they love standing out in the heat and talking about cranberries, I just know that after 10 minutes of doing that, I'd be done!)

I love Morocco, it might be my favorite pavilion! :thumbsup2

What??? Well you'll have to keep an eye out for him in the future!! He's adorable! :goodvibes

Hahaha that's awesome!!!

LOL I know what you mean, I did feel bad for them having to wade around in the bog for hours, but I'm sure it was a cool experience for them!!

I love Morocco too, it's so pretty!

Oh my - Wingnut really got the swiss cheese effect on Spaceship Earth, didn't he? :rotfl2:

Hahaha he did!

I just want you to know...I am lurking in this thread. Still totally happy for you both, and bummed that we didn't magically run into each other during F&W. Gonna go catch up w/your recent posts now.

Glad to have you here!!! :goodvibes I was sad we didn't see each other too! That would have been fun!

We wanted to get our special Disney VISA cardmember perk of free drinks :thumbsup2, but we just never got over that way. :sad1:

But the walls are very cool, so it's still a good picture. The tilework and detail are fascinating, I think.

I didn't know there were free drinks over there for the cardholders, that's a nice treat!

They are really cool, I love all of the detail put into the walls and the floors and everything!

I'm going to guess that EPCOT is your favorite park. :rotfl2:

Hahaha what gave you that impression???? ;)

I don't blame you either!!! All of that F&W food was awesome!!

When I rode Living with the Land last week, I thought "There's someone on the DIS who loves the Blueberry boy". I couldn't remember who it was but now I know!

Hahahaha yay!!! That would be me!!! :yay::yay:

Wow!!!! I have definitely never seen the line for that so long!!!

Hahaha it definitely is!!!

I just found my sheet to check it out for you...sorry it got a bit crumpled:

Good luck and happiness...very nice!!! :thumbsup2

I agree, that is a beautiful collection of pavilions!

I am joining along!

Hahaha yes, he is now a Spaceship Earth cautionary tale!!! :rotfl:

I'm with you, I totally want the mickey flamingo! Maybe when we move back into a place with a yard, I'll convince DH that we NEED it, lol! ;)

Oh my gosh, poor wingnut, he looks like his future has seen better days, I sincerely hope his future is less swiss-cheesey! :rotfl:

I think it is definitely a necessary household item, akin to a table and chairs, really!!

Hahahaha so do I!!!!

Ahh, that flamingo! It's awesome! I'm actually getting my mother that for Christmas, because she loves those tacky plastic yard flamingos. I don't think a yard should be a requirement for purchasing one. Like you said, it could've kept Planty company. :goodvibes

That is an awesome gift!!! Exactly, they could have been friends!

I love seeing Blueberry Boy! He's so cute!

That's awesome that you have one!!! He sounds like he is very useful too! :goodvibes

You know I share your EPCOT love. :goodvibes I have to say that I wanted to walk right into the cranberry bog, too! Dunno why. I sampled the spinach pocket from South Africa and it was super yummy! I loved Food and Wine, I felt like it was World Showcase on steroids. And never fear...Blueberry Boy gets plenty of love from me. I ride Living with the Land everytime, although for us its usually after Soarin'.

Hey, if I could live in Disney World, I'd totally be okay with restaurant patrons looking in on me while I'm at home.

You are so right, Blueberry Boy is the one I always remember too!

You absolutely do not need a lawn to buy a flamingo lawn ornament with Mickey ears. Because it's AMAZING!

We are so on the same wavelength with the cranberry bog! I think of I Love Lucy every time!!!! There is a winery close to where we live that does a wine stomping festival every year. I'm not going to lie, I'm so tempted. So so tempted.

:lmao: "World Showcase on steroids" Great description of F&W!!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

LOL he could be our living room ornament! :thumbsup2

You HAVE to do the wine stomping festival!!! That sounds awesome!!!!

We retrieved our buzzer from Rose & Crown. F&W seemed to guarantee that every available horizontal space that could possibly be used as a seat would be occupied, so DF sat on the fence.

I chose to stand, knowing that with my level of grace, I would end up having to be fished out of the World Showcase lagoon.

We only waited for a few minutes before our buzzer buzzed, and we were led to a table inside the restaurant. I was briefly disappointed we weren’t seated outdoors, since the weather was gorgeous, but soon was entertained with questions like “why is there medieval weaponry on the walls?”

Besides, we had a nice view from our table, so that was fine by me.

(Wingnut had the added bonus of this view as well. )

We checked out the menus, and I’m sure that absolutely none of you are shocked to hear that DF wanted to try the Scotch Egg. I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t slightly apprehensive of the concept (a hard boiled egg encased in sausage and then deep fried), but said that I would try a bite.

It soon arrived, accompanied by “fingers” of buttery toast and mustard.

I politely let DF take the first bite. Because I’m nice like that. And because I was politely and nicely waiting for his reaction.

And of course, we all know how the story goes, the Scotch Egg was awesome. DF called it “deep fried breakfast,” and I don’t think that description is too far off from the truth.

Along with our appetizer, a bread basket arrived.

The bread was very good, warm with Epcot-shaped butter.

(If the butter isn’t shaped like that intentionally, I don’t want to know about it.)

Our server was really sweet, and she came over with anniversary buttons for us, which she wrote our names on with little hearts.

We thanked her, and I was excited to have some flair to wear on our trip.

We don’t normally end up ordering the same entrée, but here we did (and actually, come to think of it, this happened a couple of other times during the trip as well. I like to think I’m an excellent entrée influence.) We both got the Surf and Turf, which came with fried fish, a steak, mashed potatoes, asparagus, a Yorkshire pudding, tartar sauce, and gravy.

Oh, and a lemon.

This dish was great, it was a great “sampler” of the menu items. We enjoyed everything on the plate, the fish was nice and flaky, the steak was well-cooked. Funny enough, my favorite item was the gravy, it was really really good.

Around this point, our server returned, laughing and carrying more pins. “You must have been laughing at me!” she exclaimed, “I just noticed that it says engagement on your ticket, not anniversary.”

(When she had given us the anniversary pins, I kept thinking that I remembered putting down “engagement” under the “Disney Dining: You Have To Be Celebrating SOMETHING” dropdown, but maybe I had checked the wrong option.)

We reassured her that we definitely did not laugh at her, and our anniversary was right before our trip anyways, so those pins did somewhat apply. She gave us the two other pins she was carrying, this time the Happily Ever After ones, and told us to keep them as well!

We thanked her again, all laughed, and put on our new flair.

Random picture of the wall:

OF COURSE we had to order dessert, and we both got the Sticky Toffee Pudding.

When our server returned with the dishes, she had a bit of company with her. She announced to the restaurant that we had just gotten engaged, and led everyone in a rousing trio of “hip, hip, HOORAY!!”’s.

After that excitement, we dug into our Sticky Toffee Puddings.

Words literally failed me when eating this (and that is VERY difficult for things to do – I am a very chatty person). I just kept taking bites, looking at DF, and laughing. It was that ridiculously good.

Basically, it consisted of a cake set like an island in this buttery buttery cream sauce. The combination of the two was just rich, warm, sweet, and an excellent way to really kick off our Disney trip. (Saturated fats:  )

“Can you imagine a meal starting with that soup from Bistro de Paris and then having this?” I commented, attempting to mentally calculate how much butter that would entail.

DF laughed. “Paula Deen would be thrilled.”

Needless to say, of course we finished all of our desserts.

We had an excellent meal at Rose & Crown, the service was absolutely wonderful, and the food was great. We seem to flip back and forth between going here and Raglan Road on our trips, mainly because there are so many different types of cuisines and restaurants to visit at Disney, two pub-like atmospheres in one trip can be hard to fit in.

After dinner, we decided to make our way out of Epcot, figuring that we still had a few nights left that we would easily be able to catch Illuminations. (Spoiler alert: Nope. This was another Illuminations-less trip.)

We hopped on the bus back to Port Orleans French Quarter, and decided to pick up our refillable mugs on the way back to the room….which meant that yes, we entered the creepily-decorated Sassagoula Floatworks.

We then made our way back to our building. The general atmosphere of the resort was well-done, I liked the small size, and the “small town” feel it had. We also liked the different colors of the buildings, and thought that it made it a bit fun.

Despite being tired from our travel day, we were thrilled to be at Disney, and were excited to start the wedding planning parts of our trip the next morning! :yay:

The Rose and Crown looks loverly, ducks :D. The pudding sounds fit for the Queen herself! (Translation: yummo!)

A wedding in Disney! Sounds like pure magic! Looking forward to the next post :)
