My oldest DS will be 12 in June. All he wanted to do on the Fantasy in April were staying in the Lab and playing computer and video games. Sigh! But, it,s his vacation as well!

That sounds like my oldest DS! He will be 12 in July! We were on the Fantasy in March and all he wanted to do was Midship Detectiv Agency or... Stay in the Lab and play computer and video games. And yes, of course he plays Minecraft! Nice to know there are other boys in the same age range.

This is my very first post. I've researched this forum endlessly to plan our 2010 WDW trip and now for this cruise.

Looking forward to joining you all next June--also our first Disney cruise! It will be me, DH, DS 11, and DS 10 (at the time of sailing).

Welcome!!!! We are so excited for the cruise and have been planning for almost a year. The airfare was the most challenging part so far. It's great to have you sailing with us.

Myself and my friend and her boy(10). Looking forward to it. New to Disboards. This will be my 6th Disney cruise. Going to Paris after cruise for 5 days. Wish we stayed in Rome overnight, to get 2 days there.

Thank you! We're taking the cruise to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary and my 40th birthday next year.

We're very excited and a little nervous about this trip. We're not exactly seasoned travelers, but DH and I have been to London and Paris on our own. We're planning to explore Barcelona and a couple of the ports independently, so that should be quite an adventure!

I've been reading all the posts about the various ports and DCL secrets-so helpful!

Is it too early (or too late) to book Rome in Limo? We're planning to use them for Rome and Naples.

No it is definitely not too early. Many of us have already booked. There are 3 cruises in some of the ports, so it will be busy. Happy planning

We are going to have to organize the boys so they can be on Warcraft in the same server at the same time so they can introduce themselves!!
Also has anyone here used Viator for tours before? We have a tour scheduled with them.

Also booked Rome in Limo tours for Rome and Naples as a Shared Tour. There's room for 4 more people if anyone would like to join us! We booked Rome Highlights with a Vatican tour guide, and the Pompeii/Sorrento/Positano tour for Naples with a Pompeii guide.

As a shared tour. If you don't find someone to take it, will they fill the tour company fill the spots for you?

My inlaws just returned from a cruise and they used Viator. Liked them. Said they were a good tour company.

No, we can change the car as the tour gets closer and just keep it a private tour for the 4 of us. But if we can find 4 more people, that brings the tour cost down considerably!

Bummer! You could set up a Shared Tour on any sailing.

We just booked airfare today! We are actually splitting up the family - my DH is taking our 3 oldest boys on this cruise (15, 13, and 10) and I am going to take our younger ones on a a 7-night leaving from LA to Vancouver (younger ones are 7, 3 and 1 year). We figure we save lots of money by not flying out the younger ones all the way to Europe, plus with the age differences it probably would be tough to find tours to suit them all. Although I am bummed not to experience this with the boys, I am so excited for DH to have this time off and spend it with the older boys.

They are flying into London on the 6th, spending a night there to see the sights then flying in very late on the 7th to Barcelona. I am looking into the hotel at the airport, as that might be easy for them (their flight gets in at midnight). And then after the cruise, they are flying to Rome to spend 4 nights more, exploring the city and maybe making a day trip or two. Flying back to SFO from Rome on the 19th.

We haven't looked too much into shore excursions - but the Rome in Limo tour looks great, and such a better price than what DCL offers. SparklesofHope -I'll talk to my husband, and if you have the space maybe we can join and split costs??

The white river rafting in the alps looks like it might be a great change of pace from all the walking and sightseeing.

More later - and yes, I'm sure the boys would love to do FE. Thanks to who offered to organize? I just read some pages pretty quickly, so will spend more time catching up.

How exciting! Yes, there is still room for the Rome in Limo tour! We have 2 boys as well (ages 10 & 11 at the time of sailing). If we have 8 people on the tour, the Rome Highlights tour would be 75 Euro per person, plus another 20 Euro per person for the Vatican guide. The Naples port tour would also be 75 Euro per person, plus another 13 Euro per person for the Pompeii guide. Feel free to PM me for more info.

I noticed your family is flying out of SFO. We are from Northern CA as well!
