"A Fresh Start" WDW Vacation with a Newbie and the Boyfriend!- Nov TR COMPLETE 2/16!

Ok, I have to admit that I LOVE TrenD..... I love the blingy stuff and the pink and the (wait, I know you like pink too! :rotfl2:) and the decor.... At least you spared Corey the experience while he ate his sandwich (once it was sorta corrected.)

Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I hate it when restaurants are TOO cold. I can't get comfortable and it really does ruin the whole experience. I am bookmarking your dining TR! Love reading about food too, haha.

If I had the opportunity to buy ornaments for a Christmas tree (my DH and I will not have a tree for a while since it wouldn't fit in our apt), it'd be SO difficult walking into the DTD store! I'd want everything!

Great report so far! I love your view from AoA. My DH and I also have a cockapoo - she is 1 and her name is Scarlett. I don't see them too often so it is neat to see yours here! I look forward to reading more :)

I LOVE that dole whip ladies t. I am putting that on my list for Sept and the Sleeping Beauty ears ornament as well. princess:

After shopping we were freezing so Emily wanted to try to find some hot chocolate! Corey wanted ice cream so we decided to go to Ghirardelli.

It was packed like always but we decided to stick it out! Here is Emily with the ginormous menu.
IMG_1799.jpg

Emily ordered a regular hot chocolate and Corey got a hot fudge sundae.

We decided to sit inside since it was quite chilly outside.

Don't mind Corey, he looks drugged.
IMG_1801.jpg

IMG_1802.jpg

IMG_1805.jpg

That hot chocolate was so good from the little amount I tried! The whip cream was so thick and delicious. I tried to take a drink and since the whipped cream was so thick I couldn't get any of the hot chocolate out! Later I found out it was coming out, onto my Vera Bradley backpack!:lmao:

After our nice rest we decided to hit up the stores some more! We went to World of Disney where we had to take pictures with the princess statues. Emily is a huge Aurora fan! Like huge!!!! She is her favorite princess. She loves her.

IMG_1810.jpg

IMG_1806.jpg

IMG_1807.jpg

Emily found some other charms in here but they were the kiddie kind. They were kind of cute though!

I went in the stuffed animal room and took some artsy photos.

IMG_1811.jpg

IMG_1812.jpg

IMG_1815.jpg

IMG_1816.jpg

I love how the clothes racks have hidden mickeys to hang the racks.
IMG_1817.jpg

They have these crazy silly little hats now. They are funny.
IMG_1819.jpg

We had to take a pic with them on!:thumbsup2 Check out that guy looking at us like we are crazy...
IMG_1820.jpg

We decided not to go on the West Side of DTD. We were just going to stay in the Marketplace because we were tired.

The next stop was the Art of Disney. That store is amazing. The paintings are so beautiful. I thought this one was cool.
IMG_1823.jpg

They had an artist there signing. His name was Larry Dotson. I was about to buy a print and have him sign it but I decided against it. Some of the prints were absolutely beautiful. Actually they all were..

After this store we headed back to the bus. This bus stop is so organized with the worker directing you where to go!

We got back to Art of Animation and I decided I wanted...

a 4th Meal!!!

Yes, I wanted to eat again!!! LOL. I am a pig. Sushi isn't that filling so I wasn't really hungry but I really wanted to try food from Art of Animation and I didn't know when else I would get to.

I ordered the house made vegetable burger with the seasoned french fries.
IMG_1825.jpg

I also got the mickey chocolate ganache. It was ok. It was really really dark chocolate. I only had a bite because it was too rich.
IMG_1827.jpg

IMG_1828.jpg

Corey didn't feel well this night so he went back to the room. Disney food always messes with our stomachs.

Mmmm that hot chocolate looks amazing. I bet it's the same kind they have at MVMCP!

Oooh I love that painting you took a pic of! Reminds me of Vera Bradley!

I'm really glad you said the Mickey ganache was really dark chocolate, because before now I thought it sounded good! I don't like dark chocolate though. So thanks!

That sushi looks really amazing. Sorry the seating was so uncomfortable. Good sushi should not be had in a bad seat. Bummer about having the TS credit left over. I would have been really bummed about that as well.

Cute T's at Trendy.

The sushi was yummy! I think I am just exaggerating about the seating. I am the only one that thought it was uncomfortable.

The seating arrangement doesn't sound too great, but YUM! I haven't had sushi in so long!

I agree, the stuff at TrenD is a little too much.

Well you need to go out tomorrow and get sushi! I love sushi but my boyfriend doesn't eat it!

Haha i do love pink!! But I don't like all of the rhinestones and pink. A few are okay. Actually I do have a WDW sweatshirt that has 4 rhinestones!

I know I hate cold restaurants too! I think it is so hard to get warm at Disney especially at night during the cold season! This was my first time not getting an ornament. You need to start collecting them for when you can get a treee. We have a tree but it isn't very big. Our apartment is small too.

Great report so far! I love your view from AoA. My DH and I also have a cockapoo - she is 1 and her name is Scarlett. I don't see them too often so it is neat to see yours here! I look forward to reading more :)

awww another cockapoo owner!! I love that breed!!! I want another cockapoo sometime in the future. I think I want a brown puppy this time.

I LOVE that dole whip ladies t. I am putting that on my list for Sept and the Sleeping Beauty ears ornament as well. princess:

I know I love the dole whip tee too!! It was adorable. If I was a big dole whip fan I would have so gotten it! I think it is a hot commodity at Disney, not a lot of places had it.

Pass that Mickey Ganache right over to me! I'll finish it off for you guys! :rotfl2: Seriously it looks yummy.

Caught up! Those little hats are so cute! Your pictures make me want to be there so bad - only a couple more weeks! What can you tell me about the veggie burger? Was it good? Do you know what the base was? Were there a lot of onions? Sorry to ask so many questions, but I don't eat regular burgers (I'm a pretend vegetarian lol)

oh, and my cockapoo is red and she is gorgeous. We get compliments on her everywhere we go. But I've seen brown ones and they are also gorgeous! If you haven't already, I recommend going to the ilovemycockapoo forums - lots of great info and pictures!

Hi Rachel! I just noticed your trip report. I followed you on one of your previous reports and I'm glad you've started another one. I haven't been all the way through yet but so far it looks like you had a great time. I'm almost finished doing my first trip report and I'd love to see you over there. I'm glad you got to go back to Disney! :goodvibes

Today was our Hollywood Studios day!:thumbsup2 I was really excited about this park because I thought Emily would really enjoy the thrill rides and the shows.

I gave her a list of shows she wanted to see here and she picked Lights Motors Action and Indiana Jones so that was our plan. We were skipping Fantasmic, which I was a little sad she was going to miss, but it was for 'Ohana so that made it worthwhile.

We woke up a little later than we should have, I was soooo tired! I hopped in the shower first and then Emily and then Corey. I take the long showers so I have to get ready first.

We headed toward the bus stop and Emily decided to paint her toe nails in the line. Haha, I could not do that!
IMG_1829.jpg

Photo of us all fresh faced and wide eyed. (actually eyes still shut from being exhausted)
IMG_1830.jpg

The bus took forever!!! I swear we were waiting there for 30 minutes. I still say POP has the best bus service. We finally saw a bus!
IMG_1831.jpg

YAY! We were finally here!
IMG_1832.jpg

We got to Hollywood Studios about 30 minutes after it opened and stopped for a photo op. Corey tried to position the hat on my head.

IMG_1833.jpg

IMG_1835.jpg

Of course we headed for TSM first. I ALWAYS ride first and then get a FP! That way you can space out your rides and the line goes fast in the morning.

The line said 45 minutes but it only took 20. I love that queue. Full of nostalgia. There are so many photo spots here.
IMG_1839.jpg

Em with the crayons. I love how they "peel" the paper off and make the tip dull.
IMG_1842.jpg

Barrel o' Monkeys
IMG_1843.jpg

Mr. Potato Head!
IMG_1844.jpg

Minne-snow-tah!!! Ohio was cut off so I didn't take a pic of our hometown.
IMG_1845.jpg

IMG_1848.jpg

IMG_1849.jpg

I let Corey ride by himself. I won!!! I think I beat Corey by 10K points which is really surprising because he always wins.

After TSM we went to Starring Rolls for some breakfast goodies.

IMG_1850.jpg

IMG_1851.jpg

I got a creamy cold chocolate eclair with some sort of hot beverage.

Emily ordered a banana and some sort of drink that was really tiny and had a weird cup. Sorry for the bad pic.
IMG_1852.jpg

We had a funny realization on this trip. We watched American family after American family come out with huge piles of pastries and sweets. Then we saw every foreign family come out with trays of fruits. Haha. That sounds about right. Americans(including me) love their sweets!

We then walked to Tower of Terror! The line seemed pretty long. I don't remember exactly how long it was but the line went outside. It didn't take too long though.

IMG_1853.jpg

IMG_1854.jpg

IMG_1855.jpg

IMG_1856.jpg

IMG_1860.jpg

IMG_1861.jpg

We had the most awesome little family by us! It was a dad and a boy that was like 6 and a little girl that was 7. She was seriously the most friendliest, talkative, cute, polite funny little girl ever! I don't remember her name but we loved talking to her!! She told Emily not to be scared and I told her my boyfriend was scared so she kept asking about him. It was funny. I kept smiling at her in the line and she kept smiling back at me and then finally started talking. She was so curious and just so polite to everyone!! I wish I took a picture of her but that is kind of creepy isn't it!pirate:

The ride was fun! I love that ride. There was a mom and a girl about 12 or 13 next to me. They were sooo scared!!! The girl asked if I was on this before and I said yes. She kept asking me when the drop was. She told me she wanted me to tell her when it was about to happen so she could prepare. At the end they said it wasn't too bad.

Here is our pic!
IMG_1865.jpg

I just realized you CAN see the family. Although the little girl is hiding behind her dad. They are on the right side middle row.

We then went on Rock N Roller Coaster! I really don't have much pictures from here because Corey had my camera. The wait was 45 minutes but we only waited 30 minutes. Once again, i feel the line was soo long while we were waiting in it.

IMG_1867.jpg

I showed Emily that amazing hidden mickey in the preshow with the wires. She kept trying to find more!

This ride scares the crap out of me. I can't do rides where your head comes close to hitting something. Like those signs in the ride. I kept wondering what happens if one of those came loose. I kept trying to duck. I must be scared of decapitation. I am morbid, I know...:rotfl2:

Next we went to go see Phinneus and Ferb!!! I did NOT know Emily liked them but she is obsessed!!! When I told her we could meet Phinneus and Ferb she got so excited. So off we went!

The line wasn't too long, we probably waited about 25 minutes. The whole time we planned what we were going to say to them! Emily said they start every episode with, "So what are we doing today?", so that was my line. Then Emily said they say, "So where is Perry anyway?" because I guess he hides every episode. So Emily was supposed to say after I said mine.

IMG_1868.jpg

There were these two British boys. One was probably 2 and the other was probably 4. The 4 year old was chasing the 2 year old allll over the place in the line. I could tell something bad was about to happen. Well, the 4 year old was running full speed and ran into the 2 year old. The 2 year did a face plant on the cement!!!! I felt bad for him but you can't let your children run around like maniacs or else that is what happens! I don't think he was hurt, just a little shaken up!

IMG_1870.jpg

IMG_1875.jpg

So, anyways we met them and Emily didn't say her line!!!! I was so mad! ( not really). I had to say both lines!!! When I asked them what we were doing today they chuckled. I asked where Perry was at the end and he was looking all over the place to find Perry. It was cute.

IMG_1872.jpg

After Phinneus and Ferb we went to Star Tours. I was told that if you tell someone you are feeling rebellious they might make you the rebel spy. I told the worker and she just kind of laughed.

Emily had no idea what rebellious meant so I was praying that she was the rebel spy.

IMG_1876.jpg

Well, she wasn't! Some other loud obnoxious guy was. There was the loudest group EVER with us. They were screaming the entire ride. It was really annoying. When we were leaving the ride I found a lighter in the seat. Really safe..

Anyways, that sums up our morning. Next up, lunch!

Pass that Mickey Ganache right over to me! I'll finish it off for you guys! :rotfl2: Seriously it looks yummy.

Haha if you like dark chocolate you would love it!

The veggie burger was good! There was edamame, corn, carrot, a little breading in the burger. It was freshly made so the veggies were freshly formed into a patty. It was definitely not like a normal veggie burger. It was good. Aww a red cockapoo! I will have to check out those forums!

Hi Rachel! I just noticed your trip report. I followed you on one of your previous reports and I'm glad you've started another one. I haven't been all the way through yet but so far it looks like you had a great time. I'm almost finished doing my first trip report and I'd love to see you over there. I'm glad you got to go back to Disney! :goodvibes
Hi! I remember you!!!!

I will definitely check our your trip report!

Your morning sounds so fun! You got a lot of great ToT pictures. That little girl sounds too cute!

Hahaha, ya think Emily was so star struck from seeing Phineas and Ferb that she forgot her lines? :lmao:

After we rode Star Tours it was time for Corey and Emily to eat lunch. He wanted to eat at Backlot Express for the buffalo chicken tenders. We got out of the ride and I headed towards Backlot, which is right by Star Tours. Corey was like, "Where are you going!?" He thought Backlot Express was Studio Catering Company.

Ha, men they don't know anything!

Corey got his buffalo chicken tenders which he said was his favorite counter service all trip.

IMG_1877.jpg

I picked his dessert out and got the pumpkin cupcake with maple frosting. OMG this was GREAT! It was delicious.
IMG_1878.jpg

I love Disney cups especially the seasonal ones. If they ever switch to plain boring non disney cups I will be upset.

IMG_1879.jpg

Emily got some turkey sandwich.
IMG_1880.jpg

While Emily was eating Corey went to get his beloved snack that he was talking about months before our trip: The Min & Bill's milkshake. He was so excited for that. He came back empty handed:scared1: Min & Bill's was not open! He was bummed.

Then, it was my time for lunch!

I chose Pizza Planet. It is a tradition to eat here although I wished I would have had Backlot Express. Pizza Planet was just not that good. The pumpkin cupcake was offered here too but I chose the Cappuccino cupcake.

IMG_1908.jpg

After my lunch we took a walk to try to find Corey dessert. He wanted a red velvet cake pop.

We stopped at the heads and took some pictures. I can't really figure out the point of this area but it is a fun photo spot.

Of course I took pictures with the legend!
IMG_1886.jpg

IMG_1888.jpg

IMG_1890.jpg

IMG_1892.jpg

IMG_1893.jpg

Of course there was people here taking pictures with iPads. I just don't get that.

We got to the treats place and Corey decided he didn't want a red velvet cake pop! Men!

I did get some treat pics though. I can NOT believe those apples sell for 9.99. That is ridiculous.

IMG_1895.jpg

IMG_1896.jpg

He only wanted a cake pop with red velvet cake and white chocolate on it (no sprinkles). They all had sprinkles.

Clear shot of the Tower.
IMG_1897.jpg

I love that Vinylmation shop next to the candy store. I tried to take some creative photos.
IMG_1902.jpg

I found a vinylmation I want!
IMG_1903.jpg

I love the look of Vinylmation but I don't buy them to trade. I have only bought the ones where you can see through the package. I buy them when I like the design. I have a NYC one, Chicago one, MK 40th anniversary, Germany one, and I did end up buying that Vinylmation later in the trip.

This one was cute too.
IMG_1904.jpg

We had a little bit of time before our TSM fastpasses so we wondered around and took pictures of the Streets of America. It was so weird to see the lights here knowing I won't see them lighted this year. I saw them for the past two years.

IMG_1910.jpg

IMG_1911.jpg

IMG_1912.jpg

Good news- HS now sells Jalapeno Cheese pretzels!
IMG_1913.jpg

IMG_1914.jpg

Oh man, all your pictures of cake-like desserts are just really making me crave other cake-like desserts. :lmao: YUM!

Your morning sounds so fun! You got a lot of great ToT pictures. That little girl sounds too cute!

Hahaha, ya think Emily was so star struck from seeing Phineas and Ferb that she forgot her lines? :lmao:

Oh man, all your pictures of cake-like desserts are just really making me crave other cake-like desserts. :lmao: YUM!

I think she definitely was star struck! Me on the other hand have never seen that show!

The cake desserts must have made me hungry for them too because i got a cakeball from our local cupcake place. Yummy!:goodvibes

I got several updates behind and tried to catch up this morning before work. At work I have a restricted computer and can't see any photobucket pictures. It's so annoying.

So - how was the veggie burger at AoA? I tried one at LTT and it was not all that great. BK's veggie burger was better. :rotfl2:

Your food pictures all turned out really well. Everything looks so yummy.

Funny story about the American vs the European diet. I know the European breakfasts include better protein options like cheese and meat. No wonder they only ate fruit which keeps me full for about 2 seconds.

Great pictures in the queue at ToT and your pictures turned out really good - great colors and lighting.

Not bad waits at all for the big three. :thumbsup2

I'm caught up!! :)

Looks like you are going to have a GREAT time at your new job! I wish that I could do something fun like TRAVEL for my training somewhere!

I will say that I was pleasantly surprised by all the buses at AoA other than the stupid MK buses! That just never seemed to run "every 20 minutes" like they say. And you are SOOO right about the Deluxe buses!

So it was time for our Toy Story Mania fastpass so we headed over to that area. We ran into the Green Army Man! He was standing completely still so I wanted my pic with him.

IMG_1916.jpg

IMG_1915.jpg

We stood by him a little bit more and a kid was looking at him and all of a sudden the army man jumped out of his standstill position and scared the kid! It was funny.

Next he beckoned me over to him to take another picture with him. We posed in a salute and I gave Emily my camera. She could not figure out how to zoom. She didn't know you had to turn the barrel. The green arm man just shook his head because it took her so long to figure out how to take a pic. It was funny.

IMG_1918.jpg

I wanted one with Emily too.
IMG_1919.jpg

So we rode TSM and I won again! This time I let Corey ride with Emily.

After TSM we headed to go see Wreck it Ralph at the Animation studio. Wreck it Ralph and Art of Animation Studio were my must do's today. When we came in there was someone asking if people wanted to do the animation studio. I decided to pass and see Ralph first and then do the animation studio- MISTAKE!

We get to Ralph and see he wasn't out but families were in line. We decided to wait in line. He was due to come out in about 20 minutes so we decided to stay.

IMG_1921.jpg

At this point it was opening day for Wreck it Ralph so I didn't see it yet. I wanted to at some point and since he was new here I wanted to see him.

Hidden Mickeys in the carpet.
IMG_1922.jpg

Corey in line. Awww
IMG_1923.jpg

I was kind of leery towards this movie and thought it was kind of weird and thought Venelope was creepy looking. Well we saw the movie this weekend and I loved it! It was so cute. I really loved the last half of the movie. The first half I wasn't crazy about, but I liked it. I am so glad we met them!

69516_10102333941574295_1223857990_n.jpg

When we get done meeting him we go to the Animation studio to draw and they are sending in a class and said there was only room for standing. I didn't want to do it if I wasn't going to get the full experience. We decided to skip it this trip. We just didn't have time.:sad1:

Instead of the drawing studio we went on the Great Movie Ride, which was the longest wait i have ever seen. It was ridiculous!!! Normally you enter through the front and go right into the movie room. We went in some side door and it was a horrible line.

Emily's mom is obsessed with Wizard of Oz so I wanted Emily to see the Wizard of Oz scenes.

Here is just a random assortment of pics. At this point my feet were hurting really really bad. I knew there was something wrong with my feet because a 27 year old's feet should not hurt that bad.

Here is a bunch of pics!
