Hello, ladies! Where has the weekend gone??
I thought my mom and stepdad were arriving today, so I cleaned, cooked and baked. Turns out they decided to spend the night in Laughlin. I told her that was fine, but not to expect me to do those things again.
They'll probably be here tomorrow or the next day, so it's all good. My house smelled amazing! I made pumpkin bread, ginger cookies, and applesauce cake with dates, raisins, cranberries, pecans and walnuts. I love the smell of all the spices it calls for... nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, etc. Mmmmm. Smells like the holidays.

Beth is there going to be a list of flight arrivals and departures. Mom booked our flights this week and we are getting in Thurs morning and leaving on the 2nd to last flight on Sunday. So if anyone wants to share a cab that would be great.

There can be, just not yet. Please. lol We are leaving on Thursday and this week I need to pack and such. I'll work on that when we get back if that's okay.

Beth, I don't know if that's me that you have down for WIWF, but if it is, go ahead and take me off that list. And if that's not me on the Fantasmic List, please add me. Maybe we should list me as LisaCat since we have at least two Lisas on this trip?

You were on the WIWF for Thursday. I'll take you off of that. And both Lisas were listed on Fantasmic, but I did go ahead and put (dog) and (cat) after the appropriate names. Gee, I feel bad calling you both animals. haha

Hi, Cynthia. For places like Earl's, and Flo's, it's counter service so I'm not taking names for that. Once we figure out times, and get those posted, then who ever wants to eat at a counter service can simply show up.
But, I've got y'all down for Mimi's, Storytellers, and Cafe Orleans.

Katie's taking the hunt sign-ups, but she did say she's following along here, even though she's not posting, so she should see your sign up.

Thanks Lisa. I think we are going to go with Desert Inn now since it is cheaper.

Be aware - Desert Inn does NOT have bell service. Meaning if you get there and your room is not ready, you need to use their luggage lockers (carry-on size) and you will need 4 quarters (which they usually have at the front desk). Ditto for checking out if you want to go back to the park after check out.

Thanks Lisa I did not know that. That is weird but good to know. Yeah we will def prob be there before check in as our plane arrives at 9:30 I think so we will be getting there LONG before the check in time. Man I wonder what you do if you have bigger bags than that YIKES. Luckily we usually bring fairly small bags. I'm already missing the DLH but fyi for anyone who may have wanted to stay at any of the properties and had hoped to get the senior rate apparently they have done away with it for ALL of 13 EEK! So we won't be staying onsite again anytime soon.

BETH No worries on the flight deal. Just wondering if they were going to do it. Don't need to even worry about it till closer. Also could you please sign mom and up for Carthay on Fri. We didn't think we were going to be able to do any meals but Shane and the girls are going to be doing their own thing the whole time and we are only meeting up with them on Sat for the cheer deal so we decided to do at least one meal. Thanks.

Has anyone stayed at BWPPI recently? Mom wanted to stay onsite again but they apparently aren't doing the senior dicount this year so we are looking at that place.

I stayed there last month, we pretty much stay there all the time. I like it, always clean and I call the front desk to reserve and ask for any discounts that might be available. Last time they said they had a "managers special". They have a fairly decent free breakfast next door at Captain Kidds.

I did more baking today. Oatmeal raisin cookies, pumpkin bars, and gingerbread. I want to leave lots of goodies for my mom and dad to enjoy while we are gone. Speaking of which, I guess I should at least start to think about packing.

Hi there! Hope you all had a great weekend! I did, other than this cold that has been trying to drag us all down. It's slowly starting to go away....I hope! Sadly the weekend went by way too fast, and now it's back to work. I hate work. I've never enjoyed one job that I've had and now that I have a little man I could be spending time with, I really hate it. It's depressing me to the point that I've had to start meds.

Anyways, I need to figure out what I am doing about hotels. I still don't have any official roommates, and I think the Disney Hotels are probably out of my price range now, unless I can get 2 or 3 other people to join me. I will need that no matter what hotel I stay at. I need to book my transportation from the airport to the hotel, so I also need to know what hotel for that. Does anybody have any room for me, or want to share with me in the HoJo room I have booked or slurge a little on a Disney Hotel? I think Ruth wanted to a while back, but not sure if she is still in or not.

Oh, my, ladies. It has been a crazy busy couple of weeks, just nuts, and I haven't been back here nearly enough. After some back and forth (literally), my oldest is now living with me again. With that and the new job and trying to get the new apartment in order... I'm tired. I'm also DEFINITELY going on the trip. I was a bit concerned as with the new job I can't take vacation time for 6 months. But, as I mentioned on FB, I talked to my boss today who vowed to help me ensure that I could go as he is also a Disney junkie whose wife is not so much, so he understands.

So although I cannot take vacation, I can still take paid leave. We are currently undergoing budget cuts which required state employees to take a 3% pay cut. Thanks to an awesome union, they are compensating us with 5.2 hours of "comp" time per month. By the trip I will have accrued 16 hours of comp time, and on January 1st I'll have a personal holiday to assign to any day that I want. If worst comes to worst and I don't have the full 16 hours available I can work a couple of hours in the morning. My office is closer to the airport than my house anyway.

So, signing up for meals!


Wednesday: Storytellers dinner

Friday: Lunch at Pac Wharf and Dinner at Flo's

Saturday: Breakfast at Plaza Inn and Lunch at BTRBBQ

Sunday : Breakfast at Mimi's

day 1 having a hard time with this one. I wanted the story tellers as I have never done it but not really seeing anything I want to order. So I am guessing CheeseCake factory??

day 2 no chose as I will be partying with you all.

day 3 Flo's Cafe is more in my budget. Really wanted the Cathy Circle but um ya not at those prices.

day 4 If we go to Newport what time are we going? Will it be for Lunch? Have we decided on a restaurant for that?
Other wise add me to the Cafe Orleans for now.

What time is the Storytellers dinner planned? I'm thinking I may not make it as I scheduled a later flight because I want to spend half a day at work just in case I don't have a full 16 hours of comp time accrued. I land at SNA at 7:25, so I may not make the dinner unless it's a really late one.
