Premium Annual Passes for DVC Members for $399!

Cheshire Figment. We are here at WDW now and experienced a problem: can you shed some light on this. I entered MK on a 6-day (basic) ticket that was purchased from Undercover Tourist in order to activate it.
I then went to Guest Relations inside MK to upgrade to the DVC PAP and was charged $182. ( I had not prefigured what the cost should be as I should have). A couple of hours later I reviewed it and returned as they had not bridged the cost of the 6-day ticket. I had noticed that the turnstiles had a read error and was unsure if it had activated my ticket. The CM told me that it had activated my ticket but that he could not bridge the 6-day to the current gate price because it was purchased in 2010 and that he had to use had I had actually paid to UCT, $216. He also earlier had tried to tell me that I had bought that ticket directly from Disney. I had to convince him that I only buy DVC annual passes directly-- all others from UCT.
I asked me to speak to a manager but he went in the back and came back out, saying he had checked with him and the policy said only tickets bought in the current year from discount ticket firms could be bridged to the gate price. I was persistent in my opinion and he disappeared in the back again. After awhile he can back, again stated the policy for the current year. But that he would do a one-time exception and credit me with the gate price.
We also noticed during this time that he had issued me my new PAP with an expiration of 8/11/11 instead of 11/26/13.
My big concern is that I have at least 6+ inactivated tickets from UCT.
Cheshire, can you verify what they said. Does it matter what year these tickets were purchased when it comes to bridging. I appreciate your input.

FYI, You should be able to call the phone number on the Val of the gift cards and have them combine the cards onto one gift card. I have done this a couple of times, one time I did have to ask for a lead though.

really? I used the disney gift cards you purchase vs the CC reward cards:confused3

We are the proud new owners of PAP vouchers and $4.00 off next gas fill up:banana:.

fyi, i did receive two different will-call numbers for DH & myself vs the typical one we have in the past when ordering any ticket media. Each one had the 1st three letters of our name, the 's', then the number.

Also, i had inquired as to purchasing a voucher for my youngest DS (a college student 'adult' whose legal address is still our home). The CM indicated that we would have to be present to redeem the voucher.:confused3 Bit of an issue since he was considering a spring break trip sans parents and would need the ticket then. Otherwise, we were told unless he was added to the membership (to obtain his own membership card) he couldn't redeem the voucher.

Lastly, the CM cautioned me to keep the giftcards on hand jik. I know in the past we were instructed to bring the CC used to purchase tix when picking them up at will-call but didn't think you had to bring giftcards along too.

My mother would like to purchase our DVC PAPs for us as a Christmas present. DH and I are members, she is not. Will there be a problem using her credit card online to purchase our vouchers? Would we be better off having them sent to us in this case rather than doing will call? DH and I will be down in Jan.

Thanks!

You should be able to use her credit card to pay for the passes and have the vouchers sent to you. There is a $5 fee for having the vouchers mailed.

This is very disturbing. I'm guessing & hoping the CM was very wrong. But, my question is....how did he know how much you paid UT? I know they can tell how much WDW sold the ticket to UT for, but how would he know how much you paid UT?

I have a quick question......my DH & I are both on our DVC contract and have member cards. Is that all we will be required to show when purchasing the PAP? Or will we both still need to show our driver's licenses? My license has our old address on it.... If so, can I just bring a bill that has my name on it at our current address?

Thanks!

You still have to have photo ID. I imagine if you had a bill with your names and your ID you'll be fine. You can explain the new address thing. I would make sure MS has your new address. The only thing that would be an issue is if you are trying to get a FL resident pass.

I have a question... I am due to renew my AP this trip. If I get the PAP deal, it will be a bit cheaper than the regular renewal. I'm not concerned with expiration dates. When it comes next year to renew, do I have to renew the PAP, or can I just renew to the regular one?

Can I buy the PAP with the discount right at the hotel, OKW?
The Resorts (hotels) cannot do anything related to any Annual Passes.

You can go to any Park Ticket or Guest Relations window, including water parks, TTC, DTD, or Epcot International Gateway

Is there any benefit to pre-purchasing the discounted PAP before arriving? I assume we would need to visit guest relations to pick up if we pre-purchase so we would be going there anyway. My only concern is the possibility of this promotion ending early (I don't expect but know Disney has the right to do so at any time).

It will be available through Dec. 31. It makes no difference if you do it online, by phone or in person as long as it by the deadline.

Just make sure you have you Blue member card and photo ID with you if doing it in person.

You can upgrade/downgrade at renewal time and pay the current renewal rate for the pass you switch to.

Perfect! This saves us money!

My current pass expires during our trip. Would it behoove us to just renew when we get there, or wait until the day it expires. I don't see an advantage/disadvantage to either option, do yo?

Back from WDW now, but again asking the basic question that we had come up last week:

If you "activate" a ticket (from Undercover Tourist) and then try to upgrade using the bridge process, will Disney honor the current gate price on a UCT ticket that was purchased two or three years ago??

I that using this deal would cause the pass to NOT be a real renewal, but to be a new pass. So you would buy it or activate it the day after your old one expires.

That is what they are supposed to do. Their written process is supposed to be to
bridge the old price to the current price. The problems arise when the CMs don't read or comprehend what is part of their jobs.

That's why it is important to know what the total should be, to not wait until the end of the trip, and be prepared to take everything and walk away to try later and/or elsewhere, when/where a better trained/higher reading comprehension skills CM is working.

Can I buy the DVC PAP at BB? I know we could get in just with our blue membership card for the last "to do" at BB this year, but we will need passes for this trip.

Yes. Cheshire Figment has confirmed that the water parks can and do sell/activate APs. I plan to exchange our PAP vouchers for lives passes at Blizzard Beach this summer. :thumbsup2

My granddaughter lives with me but has a different last name. Can I purchase annual pass for her? We are DVC members. She is 16.

I just bought the passes last week and bought one for my nephew who lives with me and different last name. They didn't ask any questions. When they asked the names for the passes, I gave all our names, when I got to his and they said same last name, I said no and just gave the name. No questions asked.
