March 2013 Discounts

I'm going in March--first week and am concerned maybe my TA made an error because my deal seems too good to be true!

Thoughts?

air from CA
5 day base tickets
4 nights POR
magic your way plus dining package

all of this for
1 adult and 2 kids (who pay adult rates for tickets and meals)

Total: $1428...

I would double check your paperwork. Even if your TA's agency is doing a group offer, it's virtually impossible that the rate above would include your airfare.

Celebrating my DD 21 bday on 3/31 and haven't booked yet. Did get BOG reservation for 3/28 so that will be special. Hoping for a Disney discount as rates are high.

Pixie dust for everyone!:wizard::wizard:

Doesn't airfare have to be paid in full upon booking? If you gave a credit card for a deposit maybe the TA took the deposit and air portion too. Then the $1428 would be the balance of the land portion? Just guessing. I agree that $1428 is way to low for what air and land.

If I were you, I'd check with the TA and also check your credit card to see what was charged. (if you gave them one)

Good Luck

Not sure what agency you use to get your group booking discount, but Magical Vacations Travel does not work this way with their Agency Exclusive discounts. Package deposit and final balance payment policy is the same as Disney's - $200 at booking, final balance due by 45 days prior to check-in (don't have to pay for tickets or dining in advance). Cancellation policy is actually more lenient than a regular Disney package - you can cancel up to 6 days prior to check-in to get a full refund. In other words, pay for it as though it were a package, cancel as though it were room-only. Sounds good to me!

They have discounts from March 10 - March 23 and March 24 - April 6. :thumbsup2

But good luck getting that quote. I sent in a request on the 16th. They sent me an email acknowledging it, and...nothing! It isn't feeling very "magical" right now.

We are shooting for late March since Splash Mountain is closed thru March 20 (from Jan.-March 20) and that's my son's absolute favorite ride. Sad to be missing the cheap rates for Jan. and Feb. which is better to go. Hoping for a discount code soon to book!!

I'm thinking about canceling my vacation now. It's my favorite ride and California Grill is my favorite place to eat and it's closed, and on top of it all it's starting to look like we aren't getting a discount. Sad day.

FL residence room only discount is valid until March 22, 2012 – if they don’t offer any dates past that to the GP then I won’t get a discount for our stay. :sad2:

That would really stink since our first day is March 24th. (We would go the week before if my husband didn't have a work obligation! Nothing to do with a hoilday )

So surprised people actually plan a trip around a certain ride or place to eat. I love splash and Cali. grill but it would not determine my trip.

WDW a ton to offer. Good luck

Well, that is great that that is how you feel. It doesn't make anyone else's feelings less valid. When I took my girls to DL a few years ago for the first time ever there were issues over the outside portion of the Alice ride. It was down for quite a bit while the problem was being addressed. I had made the plane reservations 8 months in advance due to a great price. Fortunately for us, the Alice ride went back into service the day we arrived. We still would have enjoyed the rest of DLR certainly but I would have a bit of sadness in my heart about it. Of course, my mom was named after Alice in Wonderland and she died 4 months before my trip so it had an extra special meaning.

There are certain rides at WDW that really make me feel like I've been to Disney and many that I can enjoy but don't have the same impact. I would, in fact, put off a trip if certain rides were down. Still, one of my very favorite rides is Haunted Mansion and I haven't been able to go on it in years because my daughters are too afraid.
