Disney done differently, (BOG dining updates pages 202 and 203)

I need one of each of those cupcakes.. In fact I just need to go to BOG Restaurant in general.

We got walk-up dinner reservations at BOG last week! We were there for an AP preview day - and dinner was very good. My one complaint - I did not have my "cheater" glasses with me, and because it is so dimly lit in the main dining room (very small electric candle on the table) I could not read the menu. Our server also brought a flashlight to the table for us to use. I saw this as a recurring complaint from other guests around us.

That's great that you got a chance to eat there during the preview! It is very dim in the ballroom, and even more so in the West Wing. It's a good thing the waiters carry flashlights. Did you take the survey as you exit?

Yes, you definately do!

hey Tink...sorry I've been MIA...getting Megan's room done last week just about did me in and took me away from most of my DIS threads!

OMG love all the photos from BourG...we want to do both lunch and dinner next year! thanks for all the food porn :lmao: getting that lemon cupcake for sure! love how the restaurant transforms, so pretty!

hope everything has been going well and you are feeling better too! what are your plans for Thanksgiving? we are going to my older DB for the day and decorating the house!

You've got me even more excited about Be Our Guest.

To answer your earlier question, it is still a surprise and Mark has no clue.:goodvibes

I can't believe all you have going on AND another Disney trip...One of these days Tink we are going to be neighbors...and lots of fun at Disney together...

Just stopping by to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you all for the Thanksgiving wishes! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Our was a very busy week. Goofy's parents were here for a whole week. There was lots of fishing, lots of crocheting, and fun. I'm waiting for Goofy to get back from the Tamp a airport. He left at 3:30 this morning to take them back. He'll come home and sleep a bit. Then we are off to Pop Century!!

A few nights at POP, a birthday party one of the afternoons, check out the decorations at the resorts and parks, plus driving back and forth to the acting lesson. It's a practice for their showcase next Monday.

After this week, practices are every day for Anakin's Grinch play. In between, we are selling Christmas ornaments at the theater's other productions and we have to distribute flyers another day. Sundays will be the other days where nothing relating to his play is taking place.

Grumpy is loving his job! He is a busy boy going to school full time and working 30 hours a week. His schedule will change in January when his school schedule changes. He will have 6 hours of labs. He is not a happy camper since he doesn't get credit for the labs. I told him that's how all my biology and chemistry courses were, 3 hours of lecture and 3 hours of lab, only getting credit for the 3 hours total.

He got his first paycheck yesterday. He was shocked at how much was taken out in taxes. His boss said he is doing a great job and gave him a Thanksgiving bonus. He sure wasn't expecting that!

happy you had a nice holiday with the IL's!
enjoy POP and seeing the decorations!
can't wait to see photos of Anakin's show!
nice Grumpy got a bonus!

I can't believe it. We are in the room and I just realized we forgot something very important for a vacation. Poor guy. He couldn't figure out how the trunk had so much room. Now wee know.

I really really love your reviews of BOG! I wish that I could get an ADR there for Feb, but sadly can not. I think I like the lunch menu better anyway...plus just one quick service credit! :cool1:

I think I agree with Anakin on the west wing... it is kinda spooky looking.

Looks like busy times are ahead for you....

Hope you are enjoying POP for a few days! Cant wait to hear about the decorations!

Onetreehill went to BOG the other day and they told her the restaurant closed for lunch at 2pm. So be sure to get there early!

It is spooky, but the rose is pretty cool.

We had a very enjoyable time with the in-laws and a very nice 3 night vacation at WDW afterwards!

Hope you are enjoying POP for a few days! Cant wait to hear about the decorations!

We had a very nice time, thanks!

Hi, Tink!!! Just got our reservations for Disney in late Feb. We will be there the 26th through March 3rd. Hope we can meet up at some point for a quick disMeet!!!

Need to look at making a few dinner reservations - what would you recommend as a nice dinner for DH and I? Want to do one "special" dinner while we are there to celebrate me taking my certification. Thanks!!

You've been quiet on the boards - praying everything is ok!!

Hi Tink, Popped by to say :wave2: and look for any updates on Pop. Praying all is well! :grouphug:

Things have been very busy here. All is well, thanks for thinking of us and asking. We have things going on every day, except tomorrow with the theater in one way or another over the next two weeks.

Would love to meet up. Congrats on making your reservations.

What's your budget? Do you both want to dress up or plan to go straight to dinner from a park?

I'm up for either. Thinking of doing it on the day I finish my certification so will be in casual business dress unless I change.

I've always wanted to try V&A, but dh refuses to wear a jacket and tie to dinner. If I had the money to splurge, that's where I'd like. I love getting dressed up, dh hates it since he had to wear a tie all through his schooling and to work all these years. It's a 5 diamond dining experience.

Years ago I went with some DIS friends to Narcoosee's. It's a signature dining experience. We wore skirts or dress pants, but there were many people there in shorts and normal park attire. The food was really good, and we were lucky enough to score window seats so we got to see the boats going to and from the MK. It was a nice and relaxing meal.

I have never eaten here, but I hear the steaks at the Yachtsman Steakhouse are very good. I can't get past the hanging racks of meat though.

If you can score an ADR for dinner at Be Our Guest, that's a great new place to eat. I loved the sauteed shrimp and scallops! Can't wait to go back!

I have to say, we really don't eat dinner at WDW very often. We tend to go at lunch time when the menu is less expensive, and eat counter service at dinner time.

I love the Coral Reef, but I'm so afraid to recommend it because so many people seem to have bad experiences here. They took my favorite item off the menu, the Potato Vegetable Struedel. I ended up trying the Seared Chicken Breast and it was very good! Suprisingly good. Their dessert menu changed too. The Blood Orange Cheesecake was to die for. We dinner there the evening after Thanksgiving. Here are the food pics.

My MIL and I split the Seared Chicken. Here's my half.

For dessert we got the Lava Chocolate Cake with gelato and the Blood Orange Cheesecake. JJ got the kids brownie with icecream.

Love the Nemo detail on the white chocolate
