Will You Chill Out if I Sprinkle You With Pixie Dust? The End p136 *New TR Link* p138

So sorry to hear about your mom's cat. Our furry companions are such an important part of our lives! Thoughts will be with you and her tomorrow.

Oh I love that Poly quiet pool! I'd love to be there RIGHT NOW!

So pretty with the Tiki Torches. Soemthing about a Tiki Torch just makes me happy. Really happy.

Nice fireworks pictures! I think I do want to try this on NYE, whether the family will go for it is another story.

Does anyone use these? It looks like it would break with the weight of my big suitcase.

IMG_5755.jpg

I do, all the time actually but usually inside a closet if I'm not unpacking. They will hold quite a bit!

I asked Denny to take a picture of how I was feeling on our departure day

IMG_5767.jpg

I feel your pain!

Spoiler alert - Cynthia and I stayed on the top floor of the center area in October. It was awesome.

Bye Luna Park! I'll be back!

So awesome I had to add on there!

:lmao:

Poor Denny with the double toll, that is no fun.

Looking forward to first and foremosts!

Sorry to hear about your mother's cat. We lost our cat 2 years ago at the age of 16. Those small creatures have a way of creeping into our hearts.

I love your spot for Wishes! You were able to get some really great shots. Firework pictures are my favorite, and seeing yours made me wish I was at the Poly right now. :goodvibes

I wish I was at the Poly right now, too! So glad you like the pictures. I am very glad we decided to go watch Wishes from the beach instead of in the park. It was a perfect evening.

The Boardwalk has to be my least known Disney resort. Not sure why, just haven't spent a lot of time learning it, but based on your pictures, it seems like a really nice, quiet place. Sorry that your book went MIA, though! Bet that made the plane home feel a tad bit longer.

I definitely mourned my book on the way home. :lmao:

I wasn't very familiar with the Boardwalk either. But I found out that it is one of my favorite resorts because of all the little hidden places and all the fun decorative pieces.

Always so sad when a good TR has to come to an end. But I'm looking forward to reading about your October trip!

I know what you mean. I always have a hard time wrapping up my TRs, so I'll do a couple of recap updates. I think it helps piece the whole trip together a bit better.

Your Wishes shots are GORGEOUS! I need to show them to DH...I tried to convince him we should go watch the MNSSHP fireworks from the Poly beach one night while my parents were watching Paxton and he didn't think the view would be nice from there. :sad2:

The view is very nice, but as you can imagine, I really cropped the crap out of those pictures. My lens is a 50/250, so a longer lens would have helped. Pictures aside, it is a really nice place to sit quietly and watch Wishes. It's just an entirely different perspective.

And even more pretty shots of the Boardwalk. I've never seen it in person, but it looks amazing in your pics! Too bad about losing your book though. On a side note about it though, I just LOVED that book!! I read it last year around this time and once I got into it, I couldn't put it down. At least you were able to get another copy & finish it later on. I'm working to convince a friend she needs to give it a try!

I couldn't stop thinking about that book when I finished it. It took me awhile to get into it, but once I did - WoW!!!!!!! Awesome!

The Boardwalk is a really, really cool resort. I definitely recommend it. I just love all the details because of my childhood memories of the Jersey shore. The location is fabulous. I didn't think I would like being in the middle of everything, but it didn't feel like that at all. It was great!

Your Wishes firworks photos from the Poly beach are stunning! So awesome! They really capture the magic of the moment.. so glad you enjoyed it from this perspective on your last night.

Thank you! I really did enjoy spending our last evening there. I think it was a good choice. I would love to see one of the holiday Wishes from there.

The BW is so beautiful. It is my favorite Epcot resort.... wishing I could go back there next time but my DD planned our next trip and opted for somewhere else! [insert pouty face]

It is definitely my favorite Epcot resort, although I have never stayed at the Yacht club. I just love it there.

OK - so where does DD want to stay? Inquiring minds want to know. The nice thing about Disney is you just can't go wrong no matter what you decide!

Argh about the book! The Girl with the Dragon Tatto is such a compelling read that it would be really disappointing to not be able to pick it up and read on your way home. :) (Coincidently, I just saw the movie last night.)

I looked for it in the gift shop and in the airport. No go! It was a bummer, fo sure. And then I didn't really get back into it until our next vacation in August. But once I got into it again I could NOT put that book down. So good!

The wedding area on the beach at the Poly is Sunset Pointe (I can't remember if the e at the end is included or not...let's add it lol). One of my friends from college got married there, actually!

Nice! We saw a ceremony there when Cynthia and I pool hopped over there in October. It was during the afternoon and looked very laid back, but very pretty!

Love the little wedding door hanger - very cute!

Isn't that cute? Is it giving you some ideas?

As always, LOVE your fireworks pictures! Great idea to watch them from the Poly, I really enjoy that location too!

Thank you! I really enjoyed spending our last evening on the Poly Beach. It was a beautiful night. Perfection!

BOO for going home! But I'm glad you had a safe and uneventful trip back (save for the part about losing your book!)

It was an uneventful flight. I actually liked getting home in the middle of the day. Most of the time I come home in the evening and then I feel super rushed in the morning. A lunch time arrival gave us plenty of time of to get home, unpack, and unwind!

Great Wishes pictures! I especially liked the ones where you could see the colors of the fireworks reflected in the water!

Its always a bummer to leave, and an especial bummer to have to pay those stupid 417 tolls twice! :rotfl:

Looking forward to hearing about your next trip!

Boo! Hate heading home. But luckily you had another trip on the books to look forward to you. That's the key, at least for me, to avoid leaving MCO in tears... know you'll be back on x date. :)

You can say that again. I always have to have another trip planned. If not I get so bummed. And if I don't have one planned, I start planning one a few weeks after I get home! :thumbsup2

Love the Poly beach for fireworks. I've never been personally but definitely on my list for a future trip. Looks awesome.

The only thing that would have made it better would have been a mai tai from Pat's favorite bartender. :rotfl: Seriously, it really was a fun, laid back way to spend the evening.

So you recommend Girl with a Dragon Tattoo? I think I started it and couldn't get into it but am willing to give it another try.

It takes a while to get into it and its pretty confusing in the beginning, but then it just reaches this point where it takes off and you can't put it down. I think it took me about a hundred pages to really start enjoying it and then it kept getting better and better.

Your pics are making me nostalgic for the Boardwalk. I have a few points I need to use within the year... maybe they will get me ~10 min in the cottages. :lmao:

:lmao: Yeah maybe - if you are really lucky! :rotfl2: I just loved that whole Boardwalk area. I was so happy staying there in October. It was great. Not that I don't still love BCV, but BWV was pretty awesome too!

You are KILLING me with those Boardwalk shots!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhh! I want to go back there so badly! We didn't even go into that area in October and there is just something about the Boardwalk/Beach Club area that I LOVE. Looks like our next trip won't be in that area either (no matter if we go in February or March)...must visit. ::yes::

I know you are a big Boardwalk fan and I am totally with you on that one. It's a great location. I loved it for F&W.

Well, no matter where you stay I really hope that you are able to go in Feb or March. I would like to try a March trip. I am trying to visit during every month of the year. :rolleyes1:thumbsup2

Thanks for a great TR! Thanks for the shots of the standard view BWV, we have one for then end of April, now I have my fingers crossed for one of the larger ones.

:welcome: MomToPrincePhillip. Thanks for joining in! I am so glad you enjoyed my TR.

Definitely request a high floor for your standard view. Are you staying in a studio or a larger villa. I think the Standard view is really a great bargain.

Love the firework pics, great job! Makes me rethink booking the desert at Tomorrowland Terrace, hmmm. Food for thought.

That is a wonderful way to get pictures. Plus the desserts look amazing. Glad you like my pictures. Watching Wishes from the Poly beach is really a nice way to see them.

I have to try the Poly beach to watch Wishes. We didn't see any fireworks this past trip. DH hates trying to get out of the park with the 80,000 other guest of Walt! After the healthy young people riding the medi scooters last year pushing the non riders out of the way, he really hated trying to get out of there!

Leaving right after Wishes is a terrible time to leave. I hate it too, so I have to agree with your DH. Not of fan of the scooters, I take it. I'm not a fan either but I like to think that people wouldn't be using them unless they really needed too. I just don't like when they load on the buses because of the time it takes, but then I figure the person on the scooter rather not be using it.

Anyway, I'm enjoying your TR as usual, it has been a good one. Looking forward to F&W TR.popcorn::

Thank you! I have a few more wrap up updates and then its on to F&W. :thumbsup2

I don't know if I would like The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo. People keep recommending it to me.

It's really good. The characters are developed really well and the plot is very intricate. It doesn't end the way one would think. It really takes off towards the end. Totally action packed.

We fly Airtran most of the time as they have a nonstop to Orlando & back. They usually move my take off time back & push the return later in the day.

What is it about Air Tran that they always change their flight times. I know that every time I have flow them they adjust the time. It's weird, but Southwest doesn't do that.

Love how you spent your last night at dinner...firework pictures are awesome. I do love that quiet pool at the Poly...one of the many things I miss about not staying there.

Thank you! It really was a perfect evening. I am glad we ended the trip at the Poly Beach. And that quiet pool looks so perfect. I would loved to stay at the poly some day. The Poly and the YC are on my bucket list.

Wonderful pictures as you leave the Bowardwalk...well, at least up until you get that scary clown picture. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

:lmao: That clown is not as scary when you are actually on the pool deck. It's weird, but its just not as creepy.

That is too funny that Denny got off too early and you had to double pay the toll.

:faint" Ugh - Denny and his driving errors. It's always something. :lmao:

Happy for an on-time take off and an on-time landing.

It was actually nice getting home at lunch time. Never thought I would say that, but it was nice to have the afternoon to get settled in before returning to work the next day.

I'm glad it's not over and look forward to reading more.

I definitely need to do some wrap up updates. It was such a long trip that its kind of hard not to do that.

OMG!!! How cool is that - I am in the North Island, in the capital Wellington. I lived in Auckland for 15 years but moved back here to Wellington as its a much quieter pace of life down here even though it is the capital. Auckland got too big for me. It would be wonderful f you ever do come back - you must come further down the North Island to us here in Wgtn - we will look after you. That could be cool - a Dismeet in NZ

I really wanted to get to Wellington during our trip, but we ended up mostly doing day trips. Actually, we went to the very tip of the north island, which was very cool. We stayed there a couple nights. I wish I could remember the names of the places we visited, but I would have to look at a map. It was so long ago and it was pre digital camera. I just remember that every where we went was awesome.

Definitely my favorite - it definitely keeps me going

It must be hard to live SO far from Disney. I guess when you go you have to plan a nice long trip.

Will join up when it starts - thank you

I will post a link here when it starts! :thumbsup2

I'm sorry about your moms cat

Thanks! It's so sad. She actually decided to wait a few days before she puts the cat to sleep. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but she must need the time to make peace with it.

I love the Poly quiet pool, I really want to stay there! I've always wanted to watch Wishes from the Poly, it seems like it would be a much better view than watching from the top of the Contemporary, which I didn't really like.

It's a totally different view. It's much farther than the Contemporary, but its just so relaxing from the beach. I love it.

You really didn't like Wishes from the Contemp? I think its great the first time, but after that its a little less spectacular.

I would love to stay at the Poly. It's on my bucket list.

The Boardwalk is so beautiful, it's really on the top of my list of places to stay the next time I go to WDW! I just love walking through there at night, I love the feeling of the Epcot resorts! :goodvibes

The Boardwalk is wonderful. I definitely recommend it. I know you are BC girl, but the BW is just as nice and the theme is awesome.

Ugh going home is the worst, but at least you knew you'd be back in a few months! :yay: Are you doing a TR for the October trip?

I know, but having another trip planned really eases the pain.

Yes - I am definitely doing an October F&W TR. It will be a joint one with Cynthia!

Ooohhh, good choice watching Wishes from the Poly beach. It's a sad state of affairs that even having stayed there, I have not done that. We'll just put it on my neverending list of things that I want to do.

Great pictures. One day I will watch the fireworks at MK on NYE too. Like you said, I'm sure they're far superior to regular Wishes.

Boo. Leaving. It's the worst part.

Uh oh, an MIA book? I hate that!

Seriously, I am always afraid of those suitcase things! I'm with you, I'm paranoid that I'm going to break them with the sheer weight of all my crap!

Woo hoo! We still have some more updates to look forward to.

I forgot about the suitcase question. I'm another one who always uses it, never had a problem.

Don't get me wrong about the scooters. My brother lost his legs in Nam, so I don't begrudge honest use of them. The people that were pushing the crowd that night had the scooters loaded with packages & were in late 20s. DH had seen them earlier without the scooters. Rudest people you'd ever want to see!!

Love the fireworks pictures! I've always enjoyed Wishes from the Poly beach. It's cool to see the fireworks reflected on the water.

There's no way to make leaving any fun, is there? It always stinks. Thankfully you had more trips on the horizon!

I use the suitcase thingee too, if it's a stay of just a couple of days and not worth fully unpacking. ::yes:: I have to hang up shirts and pants though, to prevent wrinkles, 'cause the iron is only coming out in an emergency (ie. an intruder). :rotfl:

Sorry about your mom's cat. I have just had to do that and while I know it was best, it was hard and hit me harder than when I have lost a cat otherwise.

Thanks Pat. After arranging to go visit my mom yesterday afternoon, she decided she wasn't ready to put the cat down afterall. I understand, but on the other hand I know it has to happen soon. I really don't even want to call my mom today because I don't want to hear an update on the cat. She's dying and I feel so horribly bad for the whole situation.

Just keeping up with the chatter soooo sorry about your cat!!! We have 4 and they are so precious !!!

Thanks Rosie. It is always so terrible when you have to put an animal down. I feel terribly sorry for my mom. I was all ready to go up to her house yesterday and drive to the emergency vet to have her put to sleep, but she couldn't do it. I don't even want to think about it right now.

So sorry to hear about your mom's cat. Our furry companions are such an important part of our lives! Thoughts will be with you and her tomorrow.

Thank you so much Dee. Unfortunately, my mom backed out. She just couldn't do it. But the cat is not eating anything. Nothing. And I am afraid that she really can't wait much longer. I am afraid to call today because she will give me an update on the cat and there's really no reason to. She isn't going to improve. :sad2:

Oh I love that Poly quiet pool! I'd love to be there RIGHT NOW!

So pretty with the Tiki Torches. Something about a Tiki Torch just makes me happy. Really happy.!

I have to agree. Tiki Torches do really set the mood. That pool looked really nice and nice and big for a quiet pool. I am quite the quiet pool fan and this one looked lovely.

Nice fireworks pictures! I think I do want to try this on NYE, whether the family will go for it is another story.!

Well, I wouldn't want to be in a park on NYE, so this looks like a much better option if you ask me. I know the Poly Beach gets crowded, but judging by Pat's pictures, the show looks amazing. It was definitely be my pick for ringing the New Years in!

I do, all the time actually but usually inside a closet if I'm not unpacking. They will hold quite a bit!!

That rack just didn't look so great! I think I may have used the bench. I don't remember. All I know is that I started living out of a suitcase those last few nights. I hate that, but at that point it didn't seem worth it to unpack!

I feel your pain!!

I know you do! :rotfl:

So awesome I had to add on there!

:lmao:!

But isn't it great that you immediately clicked with the place and you made your decision. I think that's fabulous. I can't blame you one bit. If I had known how much I was going to love it there I would have looked at the BWV resales much more seriously. But who knew? :confused3

Poor Denny with the double toll, that is no fun.!

All I can say is - that's SO Denny! :rolleyes1

Looking forward to first and foremosts!

I have two more updates planned - I hope - and then its time to start our TR. If you have name suggestions just pm or email me. I have one suggestion, but it isn't anything to earth shattering.

Sorry to hear about your mother's cat. We lost our cat 2 years ago at the age of 16. Those small creatures have a way of creeping into our hearts.

Thank you Doris! She's 15, but for some reason I thought she was younger. Not that is matters. Yes - they do creep into your heart and the fact that they don't understand what's wrong with them is so heart breaking. Anyway, my mom backed out on putting the cat to sleep yesterday, but I imagine she will change her mind in the next day or so.

Great Wishes pictures! I especially liked the ones where you could see the colors of the fireworks reflected in the water!

Thank you! It was pretty to cool to see how the red fireworks turned the water red. I really enjoyed watching and taking pictures from the beach. It was a great place to spend our last evening.

Its always a bummer to leave, and an especial bummer to have to pay those stupid 417 tolls twice! :rotfl:

Just like adding insult to injury, that's for sure. :rotfl2: The thing is he has driven back to the airport a bunch of times. So what the......:confused3

Looking forward to hearing about your next trip!

I have a couple more updates I want to do with this TR and then I will be starting the new one!

Ooohhh, good choice watching Wishes from the Poly beach. It's a sad state of affairs that even having stayed there, I have not done that. We'll just put it on my neverending list of things that I want to do.

I think it was a good choice, too!

Great pictures. One day I will watch the fireworks at MK on NYE too. Like you said, I'm sure they're far superior to regular Wishes.

Far superior. I have seen pictures and its amazing. It's like the fireworks are being set off brom 5 or 6 more places around the park. Really amazing!

Boo. Leaving. It's the worst part.

So. Not. Fun.

Uh oh, an MIA book? I hate that!

Yup. I guess I should go kindle, but I am so old school. I really like something about holding a book and bending the pages.

Seriously, I am always afraid of those suitcase things! I'm with you, I'm paranoid that I'm going to break them with the sheer weight of all my crap!

Exactly! and that particular one looked like it might definitely yeild under the weight of my 50lb suitcase. :rotfl2:

Woo hoo! We still have some more updates to look forward to.

:thumbsup2 Yes you do! I need to start working on them now because these need to be preplanned!

I forgot about the suitcase question. I'm another one who always uses it, never had a problem.

I'm sure it would hold my stuff, but that particular one looked like something my grandmother might have and it had me a little worried. :rotfl:

Don't get me wrong about the scooters. My brother lost his legs in Nam, so I don't begrudge honest use of them. The people that were pushing the crowd that night had the scooters loaded with packages & were in late 20s. DH had seen them earlier without the scooters. Rudest people you'd ever want to see!!

I have heard that there are a group of people who rent them for food and wine specifically to be obnoxious, so your group does sound a little fishy. Seriously, why would you need them one night and not the other? :confused3 That makes no sense. I can't see wasting the money on something you don't need and making a mockery out of someone who does need a scooter. :sad2:

Love the fireworks pictures! I've always enjoyed Wishes from the Poly beach. It's cool to see the fireworks reflected on the water.!

It was perfect for our last night. I loved that we (well I) decided that would be the plan. It is really cool to see the fireworks in the water and the last couple minutes of the show were just amazing!

There's no way to make leaving any fun, is there? It always stinks. Thankfully you had more trips on the horizon!

Leaving stinks for everyone. So many great memories, but so hard to leave it all behind. I dread the day when I don't have another trip planned. sniff sniff. :guilty:

I use the suitcase thingee too, if it's a stay of just a couple of days and not worth fully unpacking. ::yes:: I have to hang up shirts and pants though, to prevent wrinkles, 'cause the iron is only coming out in an emergency (ie. an intruder). :rotfl:

:rotfl2: An intruder :rotfl2: I have to agree with that. There is NO way I am ironing on vacation, although Denny usually does because he literally throws everything into a suitcase. What a mess! I am far too Type A for that.

Looks like y'all really had a lovely last night! The fireworks are so pretty and that's a great way to end a trip.

I love your last pictures of Boardwalk too. I keep praying that we'll get in there for next October.

I see your trip is just around the corner. You're so lucky. I know you are going to have a wonderful time!

Thank You! 10 days! I am very excited to take my parents- there first time ever and my first time at Christmas!

Thank You! 10 days! I am very excited to take my parents- there first time ever and my first time at Christmas!

Nice. I am sure both you and your parents are going to love it. We went last year around the same time and it was wonderful. Christmas is such a magical time in the world. You will just love the Osbourne lights. So amazing.

So sorry about your mom's kitty :( I meant to put that in my earlier reply. I know how much you love your fur babies and can guess where that comes from.

Email or pm me your title idea, I have one too :)

So sorry about your mom's kitty :( I meant to put that in my earlier reply. I know how much you love your fur babies and can guess where that comes from.

Thanks Cynthia. My mom had her put to sleep yesterday. I feel terrible for my mom because she literally spends 99% of her days in the house and that cat was her company. I really wanted that cat to outlive her. I hope that doesn't sound terrible, but I guess what I am saying is I didn't want her to have to deal with that kind of loss.

Email or pm me your title idea, I have one too :)

Will do!

I know I need to do replies and I am not sure when I will get to them. I have to go to my mom's tomorrow and help her take her cat to be put to sleep. Poor cat has a complete "whited out" lung from an accumulation of fluid which is most likely due to cancer. She wanted to take the cat home for a few days before putting her to sleep. It's so sad because my mom just loves this cat and it is going to tear her up to put this cat to sleep.

I know that I am going to be pretty upset too because the cat was born in my backyard. A stray wandered into our year 15 or so years ago and had 5 little kittens under our deck. Brian found them and we took them inside, made a cat hut in the laundry room, and waited until they were old enough for a home.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear this. :sad1: Often times pets become family members and it's so difficult. I hope it went as smoothly as it could.

:rotfl: we are trying to do the same thing!!! Total Disney dorks, aren't we?!?! We've done January, February, March, I've done May, August, September, October, November, and December.

We are also looking at a July option - so that would fit in perfectly with our above plan. Our trick is doing it over the last bit of the month, into the next month - 2 months in one trip.
