Hope somebody can help. We have been members since 2007 but this will be first time using the online booking system. Our use year is December to December and home resort is AKV Kidani. Looking to book 2 weeks for next October (from around 12th) but it seems as though we can only reserve up to 7 nights? Will also need to borrow some points from use year 2013 but they don't seem to show as available on the initial booking pages. Questions : do I need to make 2 reservations of 7 nights? Will we have to wait until after 1 December to complete reservation given the use year and the borrow requirement?

It's certainly not the borrowing and user year, I believe you can only book 11-months out from your check in date plus a maximum of 7-days so you have two options, book the first week now and in a weeks time book the next 7-days or wait a week and then you should be able to book all 14-nights.

Today you can book from the 13th Oct 2013 with a check out on the 20th.

Good Luck.....

You can book up to 7 days out the 11 months mark. You can then call MS after a few days to add other nights to that reservation. It's not possible to add night online to an existing reservation.

You can also book online two different 7 days reservations and then call MS to link those, so you are sure you'll not have to move in the middle of the stay.
However if you are booking a value or concierge room, it's better to call and add days at the end of the first reservation: you might be unlucky and not being able to find a room available after 7 days.

Being able to borrow points is independent on time of booking, but only on when the reservation falls.
If you want to book a stay in October 2013 (falling in your 2012 UY), you can borrow from your 2013 UY even now.

I have a December UY too and I cannot see my 2013 UY yet on the right column. However if you click on the "My Vacation Points" link, you'll see them.

You can start booking, then after selecting dates and room type/view the System will ask you how you want to allocate the points. Since you are missing points, it will ask you if you want to borrow from the next UY.
It's very simple.

Be aware that borrowing is a final transaction. If you borrow points and then you cancel the reservation, those points will expire at November 2013.

How many points do you need to borrow?
It is possible to buy one time use points from Disney, up to 24, for 15$ each.
This cannot be done online, but only calling MS.

Thanks for the info. Now all sorted and have booked up for next October. As we are going for 16 nights I had to do three separate online reservations and it was pretty simple with all names pre-populated after the first reservation. I called DVC shortly after to get them to link them all and it was very easy! Our plan when we bought into DVC was to go every 2 to 3 years during the October holidays - whilst the kids are still at school anyway - and this has worked out pretty well although we used our points in 2011 for DCL to Alaska - which was great. Probably not the best use of points but as we were going to Canada anyway it fitted in well!

Can't wait to get back to Florida though as we haven't been since 2009! Although there are only 4 of us we find the 2 bed at AKL perfect. So that's what we're going to again. Think we will buy the annual passes this time given the current offer. Can't believe how much flight costs have increased though! October is very popular with us Scots and don't understand why there aren't more airlines jumping to offer flights from Scotland. Instead of BA whom we normally use we are going with United from Edinburgh. Never having used them before I don't know how good/bad they are?

Anyway we are so pleased to have our 2013 holiday arranged. It helps to get you through these dark winter nights!

We are off to Kidani (our home resort) in August, we have stayed there twice previously. We just love this place, we have stayed in the two bed and the 1 bed and they are both great. We tend to go cash one year then DVC the next. Have a great time :goodvibes
