Port Orleans French Quarter Q&A Thread, New for 2012 (thread now FULL and CLOSED)

Okay, I just got done looking through about half of the POFQ picture thread. It seemed to me that every room that had King beds also had 2 windows. makes me think all kings are on corner rooms. Is that correct?

We have a king room booked for our upcoming anniversary trip and I think it would be awesome to geta king room, on a corner, with a river view.

Yeah, the river view is just a little wish, not a deal breaker at all. :)

Is there anything at POFQ on new years eve?
We are arriving that day and I'm not sure if we would be early enough to get into a park. Can you see any fireworks from there?
Is there a resort schedule for December out now?

See if Bob Jackson is performing at the River Roost at POR on NYE. He puts on a great show! If I were ringing in the New Year at WDW and wanted to avoid the craziness of being in a park, I'd be at the River Roost! :woohoo:

No, there are King rooms that are not on corners. Just put a request in for "corner room, river view" and keep your fingers crossed.

At New Year's last year I think they used the big outdoor video screen to show the New Year's Eve TV broadcast, which went down well so I wouldn't be surpised if they did it again. Individual date schedules are generally only officially posted on the day, although I sometimes get kindly sent them in advance for the website. For the general monthly schedules (including December 2012) please see http://www.portorleans.org/recreation-activites-schedule.php.

Thanks! I may do that next time I call in to add/change things on our reservation.

Can't wait for our first stay at POFQ. We will be there jan 2-12th. This will probably be our last family trip to WDW for quite some time and I wanted to try a different resort. Would have loved to book a deluxe resort but couldn't justify the additional expense. Just one month to go. Can hardly wait to receive my packet and luggage tags.

We are coming next summer :) we are a group of 2 families of 6 each and are having 3 rooms between us . Two are going to be connected as there will be unaccompanied minors but is there a way to make sure the 3rd room is close by ? We plan to put the teen girls in together in adjoining room and have little ones in with parents !

You can request 2 connecting rooms and you can request that the 3rd room is close by. Make sure that the reservations are all linked. But realize that these are ONLY requests and are not guaranteed. They will do all that they can to give you the connecting rooms, though.

All booked together so should be linked. I wondered if I should email or fax requesting all 3 together as additional safeguard .. I know it's not guaranteed, and it wouldn't be disastrous if not together , just nicer if it was ;)

Can't do any harm to fax, but multiple-room bookings should already be flagged up in the daily reports that the room assignment team runs.
