Sounds fabulous! How is everyone liking CL?

I've been a busy little bee today taking a page out of Miss's book and buying out the Target dollar section. :rolleyes1 Fun day, but yours sounds just a tad better! :upsidedow

Oh no, do you need a shock collar too??? Stay away from the dollar section, LOL!!!!We are totally enjoying the CL!! Bit with the tower club being shut down after the first if the year, atrium wis very hard to come by. We were lucky to even get a room during our Feb time frame, it was near impossible to find dates with rooms in the tower. Glad I booked it when I did!

------

We are back in the room, kids are crashing hard. So glad I cancelled the dessert party, that would have been a nightmare. Time to make a drink and get some balcony time and maybe watch Illuminations if we are lucky (we have a clear view of Epcot).

I'll try to get all my pics over to Flickr so I can post them.

Hi all.:wave2: We just returned from a great stay at the Grand California. Its very similar to Wilderness lodge, but not as nice, and at at GF price.:sad2: We got upgraded to a theme park view. If I could have jumped off my balcony I would have been at the entrance to Soaring. The location makes it worth the price.:)

Disneyland is just so much better than the magic kingdom at WDW. Space mt(100 times better) Pirates(100 times better), Splash(a few more drops), Thunder mt(actually goes fast at Dl), Its a small world(no comparison), haunted house were all better. The monorails were all new. I love the way they redid the haunted house for Christmas. The Christmas decorations were great, and I didn't have to pay extra to see the parade. Indian Jones was closed.

California adventure may be my new favorite Disney park. I loved Carsland. Toy story has no fp so there was never more than 25 minute wait. They don't enforce the fp rule in Cali so that made it great to go back at night.

DDD was fun. No need for ADR's. It reminded me a little of city walk at Universal.

I still prefer Florida for a vacation, but I think both parks in California are better than anything in in Florida except Epcot.

It was a totally different type vacation then our trips to Florida. In Florida we spend most of our time at the resort. At Dl we spent a lot of time in the parks. It was hard not too because of the short walk. 10 minutes from hotel room to toy story.

I'm glad we did it. Now I have to rethink all my vacation plans for next year. I would love to squeeze in another trip to Dl.

Sounds like you had an awesome trip!!! :thumbsup2

We would like to make it out to DL someday but that is a haul....clear across the country....

There are a lot of other things we'd like to do if we ever make it to the west coast so our trip would probably consist of a few days at DL and then everything else we want to do.

Glad you had a nice getaway! :goodvibes

I agree! I do think that for the most part the rides in California are better and the resorts in Florida have much more to offer. I do love the private entrance to DCA from the GC ... makes me feel sort of special. Also being able to walk from the resort to the parks to Downtown Disney is so handy. So glad you had a good time! :thumbsup2

Clear across the country really isn't bad at all. We've done it lots of times with kids of all ages. I think 2 or 3 days at Disney and then hit all the other stuff that California has to offer would be a great vacation for your family.

Sounds like a great trip!! I have never been to DL. The closest I have been to it is Vegas. The problem is, there is so much I want to do in CA that it would easily take 2 weeks.

DH just sent me this one too...

Love the pics!! It looks like y'all are having fun. The kids are super cute and I love Sarah's hair.

Padawans: thanks for the neat trip report about DL....you have given us something to think about for sure! Sounds great!:goodvibes

Melissa: your family is just precious! The kids look like they are having a blast!
An empty world showcase....awesome!:thumbsup2

Grumpy Grandma: I may come to you about cross country travel with little ones someday!:)

Miss: yes the dolls will come out last, we got an American Doll book about things to do with your doll and wee will give that to them first. This should thoroughly confuse them....and then we will get the dolls out after that!

We did some more shopping yesterday... every year we say we are going to slightly decrease the amount of presents but it never seems to happen!

Hi to everyone else...and looking forward to more Melissa!

Maintenance planned for Disney reservation systems

By Leah Zanolla
Nov 28, 2012

Disney's reservation system will go down for maintenance December 3 at 5:00pm until sometime Tuesday afternoon, December 4. This is for Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Aulani. If you need to make a payment, you should do so before these dates to ensure you will not be late. You will also not be able to make reservations for dining, dinner shows, tours, recreation and children's activity centers as well as Cirque du Soleil at Downtown Disney. You will also be unable to access Disney's online check-in service.

Loving the live TR and photos!!!

Went to bed with a really scratchy throat and woke up with a full blown cold, seriously????? I feel like crap, but will truck through that parks likes trooper :)

Hi all! I leave for my trip in a month and I still can't settle on a resort. I would love to stay at WL, but with the current discount rates it just isn't feasible. I'm currently booked at POR, but I'm afraid that it will involve a lot of walking and I am still recovering from a foot injury. My choices at the moment are between Pop (preferred room), CSR (preferred room), or POR (garden view). I would rather stay on the less expensive end, but can anyone give me some reasons to choose one over the other. I think I'm unconvinced because I am not really in love with any of these properties yet. I hope some of you can help me make this decision once and for all. I hope the 1000th time will be the charm :P

Get better soon!! :goodvibes:hug:

After looking at your pics, I started thinking about staying at the CR. I asked the DH about getting a TPV room there. He answer was, "No, I told you where I want to stay and that is where I want to stay. End of discussion....don't bring up any other resort." The way he said it, I got this image of him dressed up as Gandalf from the first LotR movie and him say, "You shall not RC" (instead of "you shall not pass").

We stayed at the Pop Century this past June. We loved everything about the resort, but the uncomfortable beds and teeny tiny bathroom. Have you looked at rooms at the POFQ? We have never stayed there, but looking at the resort maps, it looks to be a pretty small resort.

This RCer is on a resort tourright now, watch out, who knows what will this will do to our Feb plans ;)
