It was so much fun to meet you too! I can't wait to tell everyone about the trip too.

"This is why they added doors to the tram" sounds enough like "this is why we can't have nice things" to pique my interest :)

I'm here can't wait to read all about it. :cool1::cool1:

Oh, this sounds like us! When Jill and I go on girls only trips, there is much laughter ::yes::

I look forward to hearing the stories and seeing your pictures. :)

I'm not kidding, we were laughing hysterically almost the entire time. There were actually many times that we had to stop walking because we were laughing so hard.

Here!! :) I'm horrible about reading until there are a few updates to read at a time, so don't be upset if I'm not here as much as I should be. :goodvibes

You look great in your pictures, can't wait to find out how much fun you two had! :woohoo:

I'm In. Love the girls trips.

Hahaha, I'm glad the title got you. I love trying to come up with funny titles.

I'm In. Love the girls trips.

It was hilarious how much we were laughing the entire time. I think that people thought there was something wrong with us.

Departure Day - Wednesday November 21, 2012

Okay, I didn't take many pictures on this day, because I generally don't. But I'm going to try to get us to WDW in this update. :thumbsup2

See, because I am apparently lame and work in the Accounting department, it as month end for us. This means that I couldn't take this day off, and I had to be back on Monday. Hence the reason for the short trip. Lame!

I was up bright and early at 5:45am. Only WDW will get me up at that god awful hour. I know it's not early to some, but it's early to me. I had to hop in the shower first thing.

See....even Tigger was bleary eyed.

file-11.jpg

And apparently felt that she stank as well.

file-12.jpg

The plan was to work 7:30am to 4pm, so Jeni and I (who also work together btw), could leave at 4pm to head to the airport by 5pm. Good plan right? Right!

After my nice shower that woke me up, and Tigger's shower, Tigger apparently felt that she was thirsty.

file-14.jpg

She's a weirdo. Every time I take a shower lately, she follows me in, inserts herself in the middle of the shower curtain and the liner, and then proceeds to lick the water off of the wall and the faucet when I'm done. Go figure. :rotfl:

So I'll get the exciting stuff out of the way for you.

Work was work.

Bam! Did I blow your mind?! Consider your minds expanded!

We managed to leave work (otherwise known as running out of there screaming :scared1:), at 4:15pm. We got home about 20 minutes after that and made our last minute checks before heading out the door.

Underwear? Check. Clothing? Check. Tickets? Check. Head? Ummmm.....

We were ready to leave at 5pm on the dot. Jason had just shown up with Joaquin (Gavin was at his Dads), so we had another round of good byes. Joaquin wasn't a fan of hugging me goodbye, because he still isn't so sure about my hair apparently. He's not extremely up to speed on fashion you know.

The ride to Milwaukee was uneventful. I love Milwaukee because there is so much less traffic for us than Chicago and it's just easier. Dad got us there by 5:45pm and we were off. Boarding passes were all ready, baggage was paid for, so all we had to do was hand our luggage over. That's how I like it!

We headed to TSA after that. Oh wait, except I did stop in the store at the Milwaukee airport, and I totally almost bought a shirt that had Clay Matthews on it that said "This Goldilocks Eats Bears...." Hahahaha. I'm a Packer fan, can you tell? I'm actually sad that I didn't. Oh well.

Anyhoodle! We headed to TSA. I was a little nervous. Jeni's license had expired. It's a long story, but she has to get a copy of her birth certificate before she can get a new one, she was born overseas in the military, so we couldn't get it in time before we left. I had read on other forums that this is normally not a problem, but I was still a little bit nervous.

Jeni's take on it? "What does my ability to drive have to do with flying?"

So true. So so true.

I get through easy peasy. Jeni's TSA lady?

Looks at ID.

Looks at Jeni.

Looks at ID.

Looks at Jeni.

TSA Lady: "You know your license is expired?"

Jeni: "Yup."

TSA Lady: "You're not renting a car, right?"

Jeni: "Um....nooooo....."

So then TSA lady just gives her the license back and sends her through. All that. For nothing.

So we had about an hour and 45 minutes to kill before it was time for the flight to depart. So we headed to Chili's in the airport. I didn't take any pictures of the food. It's not Disney food, I'm sure you guys don't care too much. :lmao: We both had the same thing. Loaded baked potato soup and a salad. Thrilling stuff here people!

We timed our meal just right, because we were able to eat in a leisurely manner and made it to the gate right when they were going to board. Now, Jeni does not fly well. She gets a little nauseous. (Remember that, it will play a part later in the trip). So as soon as we boarded the plane, she basically wrapped herself up in her blanket, covered her face, and went to sleep. I am not so lucky. I don't sleep well on planes. So, I just got myself settled in to read "A Clash of Kings", from the Game of Thrones series (technically A Song of Ice and Fire......DORK ALERT!).

So the flight was good and I totally overheard a hilarious conversation. There was a girl reading "Catching Fire" behind me on the plane, and the guy across from her says "so are you reading this for fun?"

Hold the phones people! I have a news alert for you. Reading can be fun! Amazing, right? I had NO IDEA!

We actually landed 20 minutes early. I was all like "yayayayayayayayay!", and then I was all like "d'oh, d'oh, d'oh, d'oh, d'oh!", only a minute later because apparently our jetway was broken. Nice AirTran, messing with my head. They were telling us they were going to hook the plane up and drag us to another gate. But then magically the jetway worked.

It was all from the power of my mind. I willed that dang jetway to work. I'm not landing here 20 minutes early to not get off this dang plane now!

We deplaned and headed down to the faux-norail and into baggage claim.

People are such lemmings. See, I knew from PAYING ATTENTION, that the baggage claim for AirTran is on the B side. It's plastered on the signs people. But everyone else? They just headed down to the A side. Totally reminded me of the video game "Lemmings".....except they were going down an escalator......not a cliff.......

The plan had been for me to go get the car rental squared away and she would pick up the baggage. But there was a little bit of pixie dust, because our baggage was already on the carousel! Woo hoo! And because the lemmings were all on the A side, there was no one around! Yeeeeeee haaaawwwww!!!!

We headed to Thrifty to go get the car at that time. I should just wear a sign on my head to tell rental car folks that I don't want their stuff. Our conversation went like this...

Thrifty Lady: "Would you like insurance?"

Me: "No."

Thrifty Lady: "Are you sure? If you take ours, you don't pay a deductible?"

Me: "No."

Thrifty Lady: "Would you...."

Me: "No"

Thrifty Lady: "Would you like a weapon to maim me with?"

Me: "Yeeesssssss"

We headed over to the rental area and picked our car. Bright blue Ford Escape. It was a pretty nice car.

I'm a decent (read: fast) driver, so we got there very quickly. Hahahahaha.

We pulled in to the Boardwalk at 12:30am. Not bad. Plane departed Milwaukee at 8pm, we landed at 11:10pm Orlando time, and got through everything and to the resort by 12:30am.

I had done online check-in, so our packet was all ready. We were given room 1136.

Anyone who has not stayed at the Boardwalk should take note that the Villas there consist of a Labyrinth of halls. I was fully expecting David Bowie to jump out and start singing the Magic Dance.......

Officially? Room 1136 is the LAST ROOM! No. I'm not exaggerating. We were next to the fire exit, all the way at the end of a hallway. I needed rations and started to imagine I saw an Oasis of water about 1/2 way through our journey.

Finally.....we were there!

This was waiting for us.

Jeni loved the room and was getting more and more excited for the days to come. We unpacked very quickly and hopped in to bed. We had a park to be at by 9am! Where would we go? Who would we meet?

Up Next: "Did that guy just say DUI?"

Shock me, shock me, shock me with your deviant behavior.

(had to give you one back)

So glad that the travel day was mostly easy. Love the BWI, but so nervous that we'd end up at the end of a never ending hallway with a tired 5 year old.

And P.S. Lemmings is one of my favorite video games ever. I rocked it on SNES.

I totally did that title for you. Hahaha. I think I'm going to do every title as an Empire Records quote. :lmao:

The neverending hallway was not the best. The only time we had an issue was our first night with the luggage and our departure day with the luggage. But we also didn't have any littles with us.

I'm hopping on. This sounds fun. I love a drinker.
BWI sounds like New York, New York at Vegas...it zig zags just enough so you can't see straight to the end, you can only see two rooms at a time and it's a super long hotel. And with an 80 year old grandpa with a knee injury it's not a fun walk let me tell you

Hahaha love the Empire Records love!!! :thumbsup2

Yeah for another pre-trip Chili's person here!! Glad to hear that your flight was uneventful, just annoying towards the end!

Yay for the Boardwalk!!!! :cool1: Such a beautiful resort!
