Booking Questions

Hello,

Can someone please tell me what is DCL's policy when it comes to

1. Courtesy hold? I would like to place a stateroom for the 12/8/2012 sailing on courtesy hold so that I can make arrangements w/ work, school, etc., tomorrow. Can I do this online since DCL reservations desk is closed for the day?

2. I did do a dummy onboard booking, can I use it in addition to restricted fares? Meaning, on the 12/8 sailing, they have a restricted fare for verandahs. Can I get the 10% onboard booking discount in add'l to the restricted fare?

Thanks in advance for a quick response!!

1. Not sure about courtesy hold. But I have not seen an option to do it online.

2. The restricted fare is just that, restricted. You can't move that dummy booking to this one, as these are for new bookings only.

And you wouldn't be able to combine the 10% with the restricted fare....you are better off booking the restricted fare but there are no holds allowed on those fares...paying in full is due when you book. It is one of those things where you have to bite the bullet and book once you know you can go and hope the rate is still available. No changes are permitted, no request of cabin or location....pretty much you get what you get from DCL in the verandah category.

I would save the dummy booking for another time.

Got it. Sorry - just 1 last question: Once I book a restricted room (say inside stateroom), would I be able to upgrade at the port upon checkin?

Thanks so much again!!

If there is a cabin available to upgrade to then yes, you should be able to upgrade your restricted fare cabin at the port...at least people have reported that they have done this.

Also keep in mind that the port upgrade is based upon the category you bought so the lowest inside cabin, if you are assigned a verandah for example they will still base your upgrade price on the original inside GTY. Some people have report that they got lucky and got upgrades from the assigned room but I wouldn't count on it.

To answer you #1 question...... If you are looking at the 12/08/12 cruise because it is within the 75 day window of final payment, payment would be due by the end of the next day. If you look on the Disney's cruise line page when you go to step #2 which is the review and pricing at the bottom underneath the grand total it will say final price due w/o that courtesy hold due to the possible restriction on the room or how close the sail day is. If you have booked far enough out in advance and there are no restrictions on the room then underneath the grand total it will tell you the amount the first deposit is and when it is due by( no longer then 3 days) and when and how much final payment is! Hope this helps! Good luck on booking your cruises!

While you can't get any OBC from Disney for a restricted booking, you can make the booking thru a TA who offers OBC and get whatever they offer.
