We ordered an 8in cake from YC delivered to the Coral Reef. My kids are all scuba divers and the highlight of our trips are diving at The Seas. I asked for a scuba/coral reef cake and got a masterpiece. I will try to get my computer to work and get a pic on here. It was amazing! Sharks, scuba equipment, blue marbled fondant, tropical fish, tropical reef and so much more.

An 8in was huge and too much cake for four of us, but we were able to take it back to the room and snack on it for a couple of days.

I just ordered mine :) 6" with a simple aquarium theme for $51. Its going to be a surprise birthday cake for my SIL. I couldn't justify more with a surprise mini fondant cake just days before for my DH at California Grill. I am super excited for the surprises!

Does anyone normally call beforehand to make sure everything is good to go?

Awesome! I did call right before I left for Florida, just to make sure my order was all set. I am totally OCD that way ;)

My sister and I are staying Pop Century in two weeks. Am I understanding correctly that, if I want to order a fancy fondant cake, it will be supplied by the Boardwalk? Her favorite Disney film is Mulan, and I want to create a theme around that. I was also wanting to get maybe carrot cake and mocha mousse. Would that be doable for them? And what exactly would be the ordering process for having it delivered to our room? I'm a little confused as to who I need to call.

I originally wanted to get the cake through the Contemporary and have it delivered to our dinner at Be Our Guest, but I was told by one of the chefs that they were unable to service Be Our Guest at this time. So now I’m looking to have the cake delivered to our room at Pop. If the Boardwalk cannot make the cake I have in mind, though, I’ll try again with the Contemporary since we have an ADR at Crystal Palace.

Who do I need to get in touch with to order the slipper dessert at the Afternoon Tea at the GF??

Grand Floridian Private Dining. The number is in Post #2. :thumbsup2

Yes, but the order is placed through Pop Century. See Post #2 for the number. You call Pop, they work with BoardWalk on a quote, Pop gets back to you with the price and you give them your credit card info, and then Pop delivers it to your room.

Only BoardWalk Bakery (via Pop) can tell you for sure. People have gotten different answers on the various flavors.

I can't seem to find the photo of the Cake from July, but wanted to give some thoughts about it. I got a six inch yellow cake with Strawberry and Barvarian creme in it from the Contemporary bakery (was eating at the Wave). It was $29 with filling and it was simply awesome. The frosting was not sickening sweet or rich (happens alot in Store cakes) and the cake was moist and flavorful. It was the best cake I've ever had. We ate on it for three days after the dinner. Just something for those who are thinking about getting a custom on site cake.

Can I order a cake at the Biergarten? We arrive Dec 20th and it is our Anniversary. I wanted to order a mini cake or even a key lime pie. Is this possible? The first thread does not mention this restaurant. Thanks

If you look in the second post, you will find that it includes every resort and theme park at WDW. The paragraph on Epcot covers all the restaurants there; only the non-Disney-operated restaurants are listed by name because they are the only ones that have options that differ from what's in that paragraph. :thumbsup2

Epcot's bakery is very limited in what it can do—think basic supermarket-style cakes covered in whipped cream frosting with a screen print. Only the three restaurants listed in that first paragraph have access to fancy cakes like mini cakes, I'm afraid.

Wouldn't she be able to order one from the Boardwalk Bakery and just go over there before their dinner and take it in with them?

Definitely! :thumbsup2 OP, if you're OK with carrying the cake in yourself, that would be a good solution.

Just finished placing my order with Janet from Pop Century. She was wonderful to work with - very quick to respond. I ended up getting an 8-inch carrot cake with mocha mousse and vanilla buttercream. It'll be covered in fondant, Mulan-themed based off the photos I sent of similar cakes that I found online. It'll have a standing piece of white chocolate with Mulan's image on it. I was quoted $85.

Will definitely post photos. I can't wait to see it (and the look on my sister's face)!

we have dealt with Pat at the Grand Floridian twice now in the last three months and she has been incredible; very friendly and pulled off a minor miracle with a birthday cake and peanut butter cup filling that was to die for!

we've ordered a yule log cake for a gathering at the Chef's Domaine next month - I will try to remember to come back and post a few pictures once we're home after the holidays.

The guest will be responsible for storing the cake. You cannot have the location store the cake for you.

Well, she was asking about a mini cake, so I guess they possibly won't have leftovers or don't mind taking it with them. I don't think it would be too hard to keep up with the cake for a short time, prior to the meal.

Would it be over kill to get a special cake for a dinner at Victoria and Albert's? Originally we were going to eat at Narcossee's so I was going to order the mini wedding cake for DH and I but he surprised me by booking V&A. Since the meal and dessert are so intense there, I am thinking the special cake should wait until the next trip right?

We ordered one for our anniversary when we dined there a couple of years ago. Just had them package it up for us and it was breakfast for the remainder of our stay at the resort - cakes from the V&A Bakery are a special kind of tasty!

Can I ask how much it was and what you ordered and who you ordered it with?

Keep in mind it's been about 5 years since we did this, but I called V&A directly and told them I wanted a cake for our anniversary; they gave me a couple of options to choose from ... we ended up with an 8-inch vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream filling and frosting; it was then covered with a white / dark chocolate swirled coating and decorated with dark and white chocolate curls and an edible chocolate scroll.

Delicious and it was only $35.

If you want something more custom-designed they will probably refer you to the Grand Floridian bakery, which is where the wedding cakes are created. You should probably contact them at least two weeks prior to your dining reservation to give them enough time to work with.

Hope this helps!

We had our cake delivered for our dessert at Cali Grill back on Nov 16th. The cake was a surprise for my younger one's 4th bday. It's an 8" chocolate cake with raspberry mousse and cream cheese filling + chocolate buttercream. The cake was really yummy! Cost = $137

HUGE THANKS TO CHEF BRIAN and CREW for ANOTHER AMAZING CAKE!!! :thumbsup2
