I found this info, does this apply to the Christmas season as well, or is that different?

Offered on a first come, first served basis, you can take an old-fashioned horse drawn wagon ride for a 45 minute tour of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

$8.00 (ages 10 and up); $5.00 (ages 3 - 9), No charge for children under age 3.
Children ages 3 - 11 must be accompanied by an adult
Departs from Pioneer Hall at 7:00pm and 9:30pm. On select evenings a fireworks ride will replace the 9:30pm outing
No reservations are accepted

In December it is changed to a sleigh ride:
This horse drawn "sleigh" ride is a fun way to celebrate the season at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.

Price: $60.00 per group

December 1, 2011 - December 31, 2011

Can accommodate 4 adults or 2 adults with 3 children ages 9 and under.

This 25 minute sleigh ride departs every 30 minutes from 5:30 - 10:30 pm. Check in at the Blacksmith's shop near the Settlement area.

This excursion can be booked up to 180 days in advance by calling 407-WDW-PLAY

The times were different when I was there last week, I think it was 6 and 8. Which, was different than what was in the printed material they give you. So make sure you check the times posted where the wagon meets.

So there is only a private one? We are staying at Wl, and was going to trek over, but not for $60 for myself and 2 kids. Thanks for your help

We will be arriving in DW Dec 9 and are wanting to "venture" over and see the wonderful Christmas decorations. I checked into the sleigh ride and stuff, but am afraid I wont get the entire tour. Also, I would like to stop and make pictures and things. Would you suggest just driving our personal vehicle or renting a golf cart? I would love the rides Disney offers...just not sure we will get the whole experience. SUGGESTIONS????? CAN'T WAIT! Celebrating Disney and Jesus' Birthday...what more can there be!!!!

I believe your vehicle would have to be left parked at the check in site.

Rent a golf cart. It's so much fun and easier to interact with people as you go by.

Last year they had BIG horse drawn hay rides that looked like there were 15 to 20 people or more on board. They didn't run as often a the Sleigh rides (every 30 min or so). I'm sure you can find them on the Disney site.

So it's just like the regular wagon ride they offer then, which is what I was initially asking about.

Can anyone confirm that they offer them this season?

I know the wagon rides are first come first served do you have to get there really early for this? Are they packed? We arrive Dec 8 and it was how we were planning to spend our first night but I am hoping its not too crazy.... What times are they offered in December and would you be able to fit in Chip and Dale campfire before? Are they close together? Alternately how much is it to rent a golf cart? Is it convenient to campfire? Thanks!!

Can you just walk up and rent a cart? My kids would probably like that. It's probably expensive though right? I assume they have headlights? Probably a stupid question, but I've never driven a golf cart

I also rented a golf cart for the first time this week. Go easy on the brake, and the fwd/reverse control is between the driver and passenger seat.

Don't know the particulars, but it was definitely *out & about* last night when we came back from Fantasmic (about 9:15).
