Dixons go Deluxe 14 nights DxDDP Updated 12/2 COMPLETE

All caught up !!! I had the same feeling about Prime Time , my steak was mediocre at best, but again we waited a long time to be seated and that did not make me a happy camper. Now Raglan Road is my favorite !!I think I am working my way thru their entres and haven't had a bad one yet !! Some have been repeated more than once. But The dessert I have to have is the Raspberry merangue one it is so light and delish!!I have been wanting to try Garden Grill again ,I liked it but the family didn't. Have you tried O'Hanas for supper it is awesome !!

Just caught up

Shame your dinner at Citricos was a bit hit and miss :(

It's one signature we haven't tried yet and it usually gets great reviews. Sounds like they were having some issues!

We both really want to try lunch at Chefs De France - I would love to meet Remy :goodvibes

Halloween.
Breakfast
Cinderella’s Royal Table, Magic kingdom

We started the day with a walk up an empty main street for DD’s bibbidi bobbidi boutique reservation at 8am in the castle.

IMG_3991.JPG

Afterwards we were asked by a cm if we would like to go into the new fantasyland – it was previewing that day for cast members and their families. Of course we said yes.

Some pictures of Gaston's tavern:

We had a 10am adr at CRT. We eventually arrived at 10.30am and were seated without any problem in the last seating of breakfast guests.DD had her photo taken with Cinderella which is included in the price.

The food was a lot better than I was expecting. We had coffee and juice to start, DD had chocolate milk. We then shared a platter of pastries.
IMG_4091.JPG

DH chose the steak with frittata which he enjoyed. I went for the lobster crepe which was very tasty.

DD’s option was French toast with scrambled egg and bacon – she doesn’t eat scrambled egg so they swapped it for sausage.

She was also given a wand and star and joined in the wishing ceremony.

IMG_4093.JPG

This was mine and DD’s second time here – first time we tried lunch but disliked the food. Breakfast was much better. Even DH enjoyed it.

I had pre ordered a chocolate slipper as a surprise for DD by email about a month before we ate. I had to remind the server which spoiled the surprise a bit as DD overheard me whisper slipper but she did feel very special.

Cost $15.57 including tax.

Lunch
Be Our Guest QS, Fantasyland

After breakfast we were lucky enough to be able to spend more time in the new fantasyland which was only open to cm’s and a few lucky chosen families.

%255B000554%255D.jpg

They were serving lunch in Be Our Guest. You are given a plastic rose and order using the touch screens. A cm was there to help – we paid partly in snack credits and partly charged to the room.

For snack credits we got two fountain sodas, a lemon mousse cake, a chocolate cake, a cream puff and a bowl of French onion soup = 6 snack credits.

We also paid for a croque monsieur with fries and a steak sandwich with fries which totalled $18.73 inc tax.

After ordering you take a seat and put the rose on the table. The cm then finds you – bringing your food in a cart. You help yourself to drinks and refills at the side of the room.

All three rooms were open to look around.I enjoyed the soup, not quite as good as at chefs de france. DH enjoyed the steak but said the bread was hard.

DD ate some of the croque monsieur sandwich, I tried this and it was tasty.

Dinner
California Grill, Contemporary resort

We had a 7.20pm adr as we planned to see hallowishes from the observation deck.

This worked well as trick or treating at old key west resort where we were staying was 5.30-6.30pm.

IMG_4236.JPG
IMG_4194.JPG

We checked in and were taken up in the elevator and seated almost immediately. We had a great table next to a window.

IMG_4247.JPG

It was loud, lots of children in. Definitely the signature restaurant with the most children.

I had a twisted mai tai cocktail as I liked the sound of it and DH and DD stuck to coke.

IMG_4240.JPG

DD started with fruit. DH had a cheeseburger flatbread – this was tasty but greasy like a cheeseburger – he managed to drip grease on his freshly washed shirt.

I had the smoked salmon flatbread which was lovely – it was presented with a soft poached egg.

IMG_4241.JPG
IMG_4243.JPG
IMG_4244.JPG
IMG_4245.JPG

DD then chose the macaroni cheese. DH and I had the filet which came with Brussels sprouts and potato casserole. We both had the bbq sauce on the side which was a good call as neither of us cared for it or thought it went with the sides.

I wasn’t too keen on the sides (I only eat sprouts on Christmas day!) and my filet was a poor cut – poorest steak of the trip (and I had a lot of steaks)

IMG_4248.JPG
IMG_4250.JPG

For dessert DD had the pretend sushi that she enjoyed, I had the Heather’s chocolate sampler which had lots of different bits and pieces to try – DD had the mint mousse from it.

DH had key lime cheesecake which he enjoyed .

By now it was almost time for hallowishes at 9.30pm so we went outside. It was a fantastic view, lovely atmosphere and a very special end to Halloween.

I was going to try the sushi but the flatbread caught my eye and was very good.

Thank you :)

Shame about your steak at CG - this is the only place I normally order it.

The princess meal went down a treat from the look of it. Was the slipper good? Can I ask how to order one? I think it would be a nice surprise for DD after our Christmas meal. Thanks :goodvibes

I emailed to book the slipper - got the email address off the cake thread on the DIS restaurants board. Did it about 3 or 4 weeks before the adr. Just gave them the adr number and the wording. They emailed me back with 24 hours - very easy. We paid on the day of the meal for the slipper - just over $15 inc tax.

DD enjoyed it - would make a lovely christmas surprise.

We had a later start today as our plan was Epcot world showcase

We stopped at club cool again and enjoyed the free coke samples – DD loved this.

We sampled a few things from the food and wine booths – a pork slider and a kona beer from the Hawaiian booth then spicy sausage, cheese soup and filet steak from Canada. The sausage was the best of these.

For entree DH had the sausage pizza, me the pepperoni and DD the margarita. You have to order individual pizza on the dining plan – can’t combine to get a bigger one.

The pizza was ok but we weren’t wowed. The table next to us had two large pizzas which looked a lot better – a lot more topping on.

For dessert I enjoyed the ugly but good sundae with cherries, DH had lemon sorbet which he said was really refreshing and DD chocolate ice cream.

Spirit of Aloha show, Polynesian resort

We went to the 8pm show and had picked up the tickets in advance from concierge at our resort.

We got the bus from OKW to MK then the monorail so we could both have a drink – alcohol is included in the price.

We lined up to check in and then for a lei and lastly for the photo. This was free for us as we had photopass+

We then waited to go into the show in a small crowded area. DH unfortunately got his leg badly bitten whilst we waited to go in - would definitely recommend bug spray.

We were seated at the back on a raised area on our own table which suited us – it is assigned seating. I booked with the dining plan 180 days out – this was category 2.

The menu had changed the day before to a trial menu. There was bread, coleslaw and potato salad on the table. The server introduced himself and explained how things worked. DH had beer and I had the rose wine.

I asked about kids food and the option was hot dog or mac & cheese – DD chose a hot dog.

The show is outdoors in a covered pavilion. The temperature was fine for us but it was 8pm on 1st November. The whole look of the place is very retro 70’s – the little glasses for wine was like my mum used to have. The server was an older man who was talking to DH about football and Ronnie Rosthenthal for some reason (Liverpool footballer of the 80’s) which just added to the retro ambience!

The show started and they did an opening song – hawaiian rollercoaster – DD loved this, lots of cheesy singing and dancing like a kids tv show plus auntie winnie the lady who tell the story.

We were brought a platter with sliced pork, chicken and rice. This was ok at best – very dry.

DD got her hotdog – literally just that – we asked and she was given another.

There was also a bit where they got all the kids up (DD didn’t want to), anniversaries and birthdays.

The male and female dancers then did different styles of island dancing with costume changes – myself and DD really enjoyed this.

Dessert was brought out with a fanfare – it was poor – chocolate nut mousse. DD got some chocolate covered marshmallows.

I had 4 (small) glasses of wine and DH 4 or 5 small beers. We definitely had to look for the server to order another drink they weren’t overly generous with the alcohol.

Finally a fire eater came on – we all enjoyed this.

DD is 6 and was mesmerised by the show – it has been one of the things she has talked about most.

The food was very poor. The show was cheesy but fun and i’m glad we tried it once.

d As the character breakfast at Hollywood and Vine didn’t appeal (DD didn’t know who the characters were) we opted for an early lunch instead. We were still at Hollywood studios before opening though. After riding toy story twice we had some breakfast at starring rolls. They do have toasted bagels and muffins for breakfast we just opted for cake instead! DH got a red velvet cupcake which was very good and DD a m & m brownie which was very chocolately. I had a bite of each. We also got an iced coffee (not so good) (3 snack credits)[/QUOTE said:
Cupcakes for breakfast! I wish you were my Mom!! Lol! Love your reviews and your daughter is adorable! :lovestruc

Thanks so much for the Aloha Dinner Show review - you really don't see many and it's something we really want to try :thumbsup2

As always DD looks super stylish in her hawaiian themed outfit :goodvibes
