We do have an RC FB page, but it tends to be VERY quiet. If anyone would like to join us, just let LUV know - she started the group. :)

We'd love for more RCers to join us!

P.S. Candace - know your AKL stay is during a busy weekend, but since AKL is not close to HS, and if AKL is not full, there is a decent chance they might upgrade you to a Savannah view. It happened to us in August on our first stay at AKL - it was brand new, my friend booked a std view with a FL resident discount - at check-in we were upgraded to an Arusha Savannah view (at time we had no idea how bad the std views could be since the resort was new). Not being a fan of zoos I was hesitant to accept the upgrade, but the CM convinced us...all I can say is I had to drag myself off the balcony! BUT I would book a pool view in a heartbeat to save money.... and make two requests: "nice view", "third floor". Fingers crossed for you... some of the pool views are really nice and from some rooms can see a bit of one of the Savannah's. :)

( Today I filled out an application to adopt this little one! http://malteserescue.homestead.com/AdoptMalteseRescuePeanut.html )

What a precious little thing, that puppy looks like it could use a loving home.

Thanks for the offer to be my surrogate MIL.....yes please!!

Well....our AKL stay is actually for our April trip, which is projected to be a slower time :cheer2: I certainly would not refuse an upgrade if given, but won't count on it.

For SWW, we have not decided...but are thinking All Star Movies....or YC, you know depending on financials....:rotfl2:

Hi ladies I am lurking, going to pull the laptop out soon and catch with everyone :)

Grumpy Grandma, oh no! :worried: Hope you are a little less sore today. Listen to everyone's advice, go to the doctor...you have a trip on the horizon and need to be in tiptop shape! And, yes, where is the smiley on crutches??? :confused3

miss, so glad the turkey turned out well. Now then, one holiday down, onto the next! :santa:

jenny, so glad to hear you ordered the AG dolls. My girls, now 26 and 29 both got them when they were younger. It's actually when they first came out, they both ended with 2 of them and some furniture. It's all packed away in the basement for when they have girls :goodvibes

minnie & nana, what a cute little dog, hope he becomes part of your family!

I am woefully behind and have a busy couple of days with doctors coming up. Could people refresh my memory on dates for their trips so I can update the RC Trip list on page one?!

:wave2: to everyone I have missed!

Good evening ladies. Well DS woke up at 4am with an upset tummy and a sneezing attack that wouldn’t quit. After getting him some meds and laid in his room for a couple of hours I finally went back to sleep. I dozed off and on but didn’t actually get and out of bed til 10:15am, EEK!!! DD came in and out and just kept snuggling up with DH and I while the boys slept. DS19 of course sleeps all day, but DS9 is usually up and going by 8-8:30am on the weekends, but not today, he slept til noon so I know he is fighting something. I am worried because he got sick and spiked a fever the week before his endoscopy in August and we had to reschedule and we still ended up in the ER after the procedure. I am hoping we don’t have a repeat next week. We were supposed to go to a bday party today but with DS sleeping so late and not feeling 100% I told DH that I really didn’t want to take him to be around a ton of kids and germs, not that he won’t be next weekend in Disney ;)

I have another follow up with the surgeon tomorrow morning and hope he is still happy with my progress, I know I did too much last week and I surely felt it, but I am hoping I didn’t do any damage. Then need to stop at the mall and pick up some sweats for DD and maybe a quick run into the liquor store since I will be on that side of town ;)

Okay now to catch up on this chatty bunch today, skipping the bolding and smilies so I can finally get this cut and pasted over from Word.

Jeanette – The kids know that CL is a one time deal (for now anyway), I am excited to be able to watch Wishes even on the MVMCP night. YAY YAY YAY on GF this summer!!!! I know you are disappointed that you are not going in Jan and it wont be the same without the RC’ers, but at least you have a great summer trip to look forward to. I think your advice to Candace was so true…we don’t always plan for what we have, sometimes it is just up to a greater power. I honestly believe if DD hadn’t been so difficult we would definitely have more.

Letthewookiein – In regards to your question about certain views and discounts, I am finding that there is no hard and fast rule anymore. I know for our trip next weekend at CR, everyone kept saying that TPV was not included but when I called CRO she offered it to me with a discount (we didn’t take it) but then when I was checking again I noticed that the CL rooms were now being offered with a discount and they definitely were not before. I think it is getting harder to predict which views and dates are going to be included in the discounts. Oh my, so scary about DS’ concussions! I know there is so much lately about trying to prevent these injuries in football and so many parents scared to let their kids play. Oh and I love the scarf!

Linda – that is CRAZY that the dessert party opened up on Black Friday, leave it to Disney to make no sense at all ;) Glad you got the date you wanted!

Shelia – are you packed and ready to go?

Padawans – I am so sorry DH didn’t make it home for the holiday. I hope by now you are settled into the GC and relaxing with DH. Sounds like you definitely need this little trip.

Marie – I think you are going to need a straight jacket by the time Jan rolls around! Hang in there, we are here for you!!

Janet – I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Christine – love the new traditions with Sophia! And the puppy is soooo cute!!!!

Linda - OH NO!!! I am so sorry to hear about your fall and the knee. How is it doing tonight? Please get it checked out, there is so much that can wrong in the knee. I walked around for 6 months knowing I needed knee surgery after an accident and of course only made it worse. Take care of yourself!!!!!

Miss – LMAO about MIL! I was so lucky with my first MIL and even Step-MIL (I was happy to give up the ex but I miss those two, lol) but this one I am stuck with now it just unbelievable. You wouldn’t believe the stories I have about her!!!

Jen - oh you are a horrible person too, that must be what brings us together for sure ;) I am a stuck up princess who does nothing for my husband, doesn’t know how to discipline my kids, and is wrong about just everything, how about you????

Sarah – good luck at the doctors this week!!

Candace – do you have Poly fever again??????

Hello to everyone I am missing! Andrew (DS19) is waiting for me on the couch to watch some tv, so I better go before he doesnt want to spend time with my anymore, LOL!

Melissa

Hi my friends! I've been so busy with work, I finally just had to take Friday off, as I was exhausted. I gave up a day of overtime pay, but my sanity was worth it! I've booked my hubby's British cousins holiday....,11 nights in a Savanah View Bunk bed room on the DLX ddp! I hope his 6' 16 yo son fits in those bunks! Our cousin. Has decided that he needs to take a day and go to Universal to see HP too :) he doesnt care about the price.....just said book it! So I gave him undercover tourists website to order a one day ticket.

I never thought booking 11 days of deluxe dining would be so hard....but boy it was a challenge!

Glad you took off the time. Sounds like you needed it!

O-M-G!!!!. DH wants to book a trip for a Star Wars weekend 2013 in addition to our April trip!!!

He just told me to see what I can get for prices...the only problem, I can't find the exact dates, and we are thinking June dates would be better since we'll be there at end of April...

SWW! Woohoo!

Unfortunately this January..I can't meet my RC gals....BUT...
DH and I talked about our Summer trip today! He brought it up, and we kinda went back and forth about things we need, house stuff, car...etc

I laid it on the line...we ARE going on vacation, and I will keep costs reasonable. We ARE going to Disney! And we ARE staying at the GF

I would've liked to book the Poly or WL, BUT the discount I have is only GF, BC or YC..out of those choices...with the new pool, splash area, CS, shops, monorail and boat to MK....GF for sure...Standard View at GF is WAAAYYY prettier than YC/BC...he agreed with me, he asked that I don't upgrade to CL. And I understand, we do not get our money's worth at all...with the fact our discount is over 40%...I am going to try very hard not to change...doubtful I could ever beat this rate. It's only for GV. With over 8 months...I can afford this trip (and a Dec. 2013 Grannie trip ;)) I am so glad I spoke openly with DH, because HRH and I are already planning a trip to the new Spa

Yay for GF! A spa day with the girls sounds :lovestrucSorry about the January trip :(

Linda

Glad you scored the ADR for the dessert party had I remembered you were waiting for January I would have sent you a PM but my memory is not what it use to be

Hope everyone had a nice ThanksGiving ours was quiet Bob his Mom and I plus the 2 dogs. I did announce that next year we are going somewhere for the Holiday.

Good for you! I hope you can plan something wonderful

Hi all Happy belated Thanksgiving. Dh has been in LA for 2 weeks. He didn't make it home for the Holiday. My mom was here for 2 weeks watching the kids:eek: I love my mom, but 2 weeks.I have to say this has not been a stellar last two months. Anyway were off to Los Angeles in the am. I'm upgrading my passes to the premier. I booked 3 nights at the Grand California with 30% off. Dh is working, but he gets of at 2pm. Hopefully this is his last week of training. I think I am going to continue ft and him pt. He is going to do some work from home. I just can't handle the boys as well as he can. They really need their dad to lay down the law. I didn't realize how much until the past 2 weeks.

I just decided to do all this today when I got called in for my second overtime shift. I love spontaneous trips. I'll let you guys know what I think of the left coast Disney. I have been few dozen times, but not in the last 5 years.

May 1-14 and Sept 7-15 will be our Orlando trips. I won't even try to guess how those trips will end up, but I got lots of ideas running around in my head.

Wow! You have had a lot going on! Enjoy DLR! :woohoo:

Gorgeous! Great job!

Well my day yesterday didn't go exactly as planned!!!

Plan was for DH, DD and I to do a little shopping and lunch downtown to support Small Business Saturday and then DD and I were going to head over to the outlets. Drove downtown, parked, put money in the meter, started walking and that when it all went wrong!!! We were just about to cross the street, DH and DD in front of me, when I slipped on something and took the hardest fall straight down on my left knee .... the last time I felt such pain was 13 years ago when I broke my wrist! Well there I was crumbled on the ground and as luck would have it the fire department was having a meeting of the chiefs across the street at the Starbucks. Two very nice chiefs came rushing over to help me just as I was getting up and offered to take me to the hospital which I declined. I managed to make it back to the truck using DH and DD as crutches ... no way I could put any weight on it! Managed to get home ... now one good thing since DD has had so many knee injuries/surgeries we have crutches and a wheelchair. So instead of a fun day out I spent the rest of the day and evening laying on the couch watching college football. RICE .... without the compression. This morning I am able to put some weight on it but this is not ending up to be the fun filled weekend I had planned!!! Is there a smiley on crutches????

I'm so sorry that happened :worried: I agree with the others. Get it checked out!

A quick hello and happy Sunday to all of you.

So nice to see you back, Letthewookiewin! That scarf is absolutely GORGEOUS!

Linda: Yikes! Have you been taking anything for it? Ibu?

Christine: We can keep up on FB now!

Pas: I seriously need to get over to your TR. Missing out. How was your turkey-sicle?!

Sarah: How was your Thanksgiving? The turkey came out GREAT! So moist. Love it when it works out as intended. Everything was good except for the rolls (which I didn't make) and no having to gnaw on half-frozen turkey... so I'd call it a success.

Marie: Eesh, another month before you get your respite. It will pass by quickly!

Candace: Came back to late to add anything... but you and your hubs rock, that's all.

I_Heart, Jen and Melissa: Could it be possible that we have the ... same MIL? It all sounds so strangely familiar.

Jen: :rotfl: Oh that Poly comment.

Oh no Miss, not you too. Sorry you have to go through it  Yay for good turkey though!

Oh, no!!! Hope you are okay. Oh my gosh, have had the same thing happen..and as a former dancer (a million years ago) we have every form of support known to mankind around here as well.

As I mentioned in my text - several years ago I had a very similar fall...waited a couple of days and decided it should be looked at - had 3 hairline fractures! So, please, do consider having it checked out tomorrow?
In the meantime - sending loads of ISPD (Industrial Strength Pixie Dust) for quick healing...and little pain.

What is it about Disney that makes us smile and weep?

Yes, please. I accept. ::yes:: I'll have to send a memo to my MIL and let her know her serviced are no longer needed. :rotfl: I'm a sap for that song too. Forget it if I hear the Wishes soundtrack. :faint:

Oh yuck, I hope DS feels better very soon and that you get a report at the Dr.

To piggyback on your comments to letthewookiein about discounts, I did notice that often even when Savannah view is not included in a discount that CL is. Savannah view plus a lounge. Just sayin... :stir:

Nope, not Poly fever.

Just not feeling like giving up location is worth saving $450.

So, back to BC again?

Glad you took off the time. Sounds like you needed it!

Such a cute furbaby!! I love dogs. We moved in with my inlaws due to my mil's health. While we were here, my fil's health got bad, just as my mil's leveled out. We were able to bring our dog with us when we moved in, but we had to have him put to sleep Aug 2011. As long as we have to live with them, we can't get another dog. I would love to have one though. The breed I really really want is a Great Pyrenees. A man had one in line in front of us at a midnight release party for one of the World of Warcraft expansions. The man was about 5'10" and when the dog stood on its hind legs, with the front paws on his shoulders, the dog was looking him in the eyes.

I hope your little guy is feeling better soon. Our oldest DS woke me up yesterday morning throwing up. Since he's 15, I just told him to wake me up everytime he got sick. He was in bed until about 5 PM yesterday, but felt better when he got up.

I have another follow up with the surgeon tomorrow morning and hope he is still happy with my progress, I know I did too much last week and I surely felt it, but I am hoping I didn’t do any damage. That's what I'm afraid of. That there is no set resort/room combo for discounts and you won't know for sure until they announce it and I am on the phone making changes. Plus I don't think there is a set date for announcing discounts for June. Since I got done with my school work for the week, I might research that tonight.
Thank you. I truly love making them. I was just sitting home one day, while the DH was playing World of Warcraft and decided that I was going to teach myself to knit.

Hello to everyone I am missing! Andrew (DS19) is waiting for me on the couch to watch some tv, so I better go before he doesnt want to spend time with my anymore, LOL!

Melissa

Don't you just love it when your teenagers want to speng time with you. Ours are the reason we are going back to WDW this next June. The DH wanted to do an adult only cruise, and then I said "but we'll only have the boys at home for a few more years and I would rather spend any vacation money we have on doing something with them." Our oldest just turned 15. The morning of his bday he had a recheck to make sure he was ok to return to contact sports from a concussion. When I asked him what he wanted to do on his bday, he said that all he wanted to do was go back home and take a snuggle-nap until lunch. Then he wanted me to take him to a Chinese buffet for lunch and wanted a Fudgey the Whale from Carvel for dinner.

SWW! Woohoo!

I hope we can make it to SWW again this next year. I don't think we will be able to since the DS let out a week later.

Gorgeous! Great job!

Thank you

Hmmm, so are all CL rooms a savanna view as well? If so, that just makes it that much harder to pick. The thing I am finding about the AKL and my family since I have booked is that the DH only wants to stay there b/c I want to. The DSs have said the view is wasted on them b/c they will not set foot on the balcony. They are afraid of heights and refuse to walk out of them b/c they think they are too small, along with too high.

I believe all AKL CL are arusha view.

And so it goes for the RCer. We want what we want. Then what they want. Then what is discounted. Then, what the heck, we splurge. Then we feel guilty. Then we circle back to our original ressie. But wait? Didn't I change this before? I must have had a good reason... And on it goes.... :rotfl:

Good luck with your choice! :goodvibes I wish I could help more, but I'm hopeless. :confused3

This sums it up soooo well.....:worship:

Last night, after my change to BC...DH could tell something was up....he asked what I had done to our Disney reservation????? (Cuz that's when I starting acting guilty about something apparently) :rotfl2:

After some hemming and hawing, I told him about BC....he laughed and then asked if I booked CL....

I think I should have fully woken up before reading your post. It totally had me freaked out thinking, " omg, she crawled right inside my head and pulled my thoughts out." lol

Good morrrrrrrning, lovely RCing ladies! :goodvibes :grouphug:

Melissa: Good vibes for thumbs up from the doctor this morning... :thumbsup2

Linda: How are you feeling today?

Sarah: Sending you good vibes too... for a gentle ease back into seeing the docs. Hoping this time around isn't so hard on you.

Candace: L.M.A.O. :lmao: You never cease to make me laugh... now let me join in with I_Heart and munch on some CL-popcorn: popcorn:: ... and some SAB Stompin' :cheer2: You're killin' me.

Jen: Are the girls getting all the same AG dolls? I hope the customs charges don't sting too much. :headache: I've always thought about getting one for Miss M but she never really showed much interest in her faux AG dolls (got her two Madame Alexander's to "test the waters" and she never touches them! :confused3 I think I might just have to play with it -- the hair is so pretty. )

-------------

All of this MIL talk, it's so nice to have a group that understands! :grouphug: Can I vent a little too? I fall into the category of the "Evil Son-Stealing Woman." It's a bit of an odd scenario with mine; we got along so well ... up until I got pregnant and it all went downhill from there. (Even made a snide comment about the name we chose when seeing Miss M for the first time as a baby! Seriously... what the hay?) I try really hard to not let it get to me but when we actually do see them (they live overseas), it kinda brings it all back to the surface again. When we were there back in the spring after not having seen them for 2 years -- which was a visit to solely see MIL and FIL -- they spent the 4 days we were there all but ignoring Miss M. She'd sit in the room where they would be watching TV and color or read and play with her toys quietly. When she would start talking to her dolls, MIL would turn the volume up on the TV. Not even talking loudly ... just a quiet kid talking to her toys. :confused3 That's how little they want to do with her. 5 minutes of interaction the entire time is a very generous estimate. Never calls here. Never asks how she is or what she's doing in school. It just boggles my mind. I truly don't understand it -- how someone can be that disinterested. :confused3 We have an ocean between us so I don't need to deal with it too much anymore, thankfully. Anyway, thanks for letting me vent, ladies. :upsidedow :grouphug:

It cut off a bit of my post above! :headache:

Letthewookiewin: Please, teach me how to knit! I never got past the "knit one" onto the "purl two" stage. :lmao:

So, SWW is looking really good...and relatively cheap. The airfare is awesome and DH has confirmed he is not working....my problem is the dates...and I am afraid to book airfare based on tentative dates...WWYD??? Wait a few more weeks??? :confused3

I am sorry that they can't see how precious your DD is, that makes me sad. :sad1:

Yep, for us it went downhill after DD8 was born too, and I all of a sudden I was doing everything wrong, not sharing the baby enough, too much on a schedule, I was making her stutter (she outgrew it ). I just took her criticisms with a stiff upper lip, but always vented to DH. The poor guy. It wasn't until after she started treating the DD's poorly, and outright yelling at middle DD all the time that I politely told her no more. Really I was polite!! :) But all h**l broke loose with DH's siblings too, how dare I cross mommy. So it brings us three years later to this point. But honestly we are good.

The AG dolls that I got for the DD's all have different eye colors (like theirs) and slightly different hairstyles. I am sooo excited to give them these dolls! :goodvibes Usually it is DH that overindulges them, so we have kind of switched roles....and I like it!:rotfl:
