National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Polar Express

jingle all the way

christmas in boston

i'm like a pp who said they really love them all, but they're my main guys.:)

Nobody has mentioned Christmas With The Kranks, with Tim Allen, Jamie Lee Curtis, Dan Aykroyd, etc...
Where they try to take a year off and boycott Christmas...

Funny!
An excellent take on the holidays, or any big event, for a middle aged couple. :rotfl2:

Also, just have to mention Arnold Swarzenegger in that movie, with his accent.. 'Put the cookie down...'

Rudolf and Charlie Brown were always my favorites when I was young!

I love all of the classic Christmas movies, but my two favorites are sorta rare ones that are hardly ever on TV. We have them both on DVD and watch them on Christmas morning every year.

Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol and Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas:santa:

It's a wonderful life is my favorite, it speaks to me. I actually felt like I was always doing for others and 3yrs after Dh passed from cancer I had a house fire the week before Christmas that destroyed everything an I thought I was lost my friends & neighbors came to my rescue just like the movie

Oh! I forgot all the Santa Clause movies (with Tim Allen). We love those, too. :santa:

LOVE Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol too! It's on Netflix Instant & we watched it just last night!:goodvibes

We love Elf! Can you believe that my DS17's girlfriend had never seen it? She thought it looked stupid ;) We "forced" her to watch it with us on Friday night, while eating Chinese food with chopsticks. I caught her smiling at it a few times :thumbsup2

My other favorites:
White Christmas
A Christmas Story
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

I may be the last person left on the planet that has never seen A Christmas Story and I have NO desire to watch it. I don't enjoy "stupid" humor and for that reason also do not like Christmas Vacation either.

I love White Christmas, It's a Wonderful Life, The Santa Clause, and while not Christmas per se, I always watch When Harry Met Sally around the holidays.

White Christmas
A Christmas Story
Muppet Christmas Carol
Patrick Stewart's version of A Christmas Carol

A Charlie Brown Christmas
A Claymation Christmas
A Muppet Family Christmas
How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Only seen Elf once, but I liked it
Technically, I don't consider It's a Wonderful Lice a Christmas movie.

This cracked me up. Thanks for the laugh.

My favorites:
Elf
the original Santa Clause/Tim Allen movie (#1)
Jingle all the Way
Its a Wonderful Life

I am ashamed to say I really, really don't like Christmas Story. Can't watch more than 10 minutes of it before I have to walk away. Just rubs me the wrong way. My family does like it though.

I don't enjoy "stupid" humor

I love The Santa Clause

Not trying to argue with you, but genuinely curious...if you haven't seen it, what makes you classify "A Christmas Story" as stupid humor when you admit to enjoying The Santa Clause? When someone says 'stupid humor' to me I usually assume they mean the sort of slapstick, fall-down-and-laugh type of comedies...just wondering what your definition is.

Our secret fav Christmas movis ... Denis Leary in "The Ref". It is a weird accidental holiday movie!

This is definitely in my top 3 !

I don't like stupid humor either... and I wouldn't really classify A Christmas Story as stupid humor...there may be some in there, but not along the lines of the Vacation movies or Elf. I think a Christmas Story has a lot of wit and charm.

My top 3 are:

1. The Ref
2. White Christmas
3. It's a Wonderful Life

I, too, have never seen "A Christmas Story" and have absolutely no desire to see it. I don't really know why. I have seen snippets, of course, and it just has no appeal. I thought I was the only one. :)

A Christmas Story definitely doesn't fall into the "stupid humor" category :)
