Mr. and Mrs. Weak Sauce Go the Distance (a completed Disneymoon TR!)

The videos are great. Makes me feel like I am right there!

I would have to side with Howard on the beets. Yuck!

We like to sit in the 'out of the way' section, too. It is nice to be out of the crowd and chaos that the main section has.

We've discussed your accident and the fear of driving. You might not ever fully get over it. I haven't, and I really don't think I will. I drive slowly and try to be very aware of those around me, especially those coming up to a side street stop sign. I trust no one. :upsidedow

I know I've said it before but I'm sorry about your trips to the hospital. Lets hope you are finished with them for a long time!

Can't say I've ever tried beets but your enthusiasm for them is exciting! And no, I didn't think I'd read a whole installment about a beet salad! :rotfl:

I don't think anyone has ever talked about beets as much as you in that last installment (with the possible exception of Dwight Schrute from the Office- he runs his family's beet farm). I might have to look up some beet recipes!

No more trips to the hospital! I hope the family is recovering well!

I have no idea how I missed out on the beginning of this TR, but here I am! I just got through all of your wedding photos, and oh my goodness, Rachel, you made a gorgeous bride! I'm subscribing, so hopefully it won't take me too long to get caught up!

Delicious goat cheese salad pics:)

I got that salad before and I really liked it but I didn't get beets.

What exactly does a beet taste like?? Is it similar to any other veggie??

Did you really think you'd be reading an entire installment praising a salad? No? Well, you just did. Haha, until next time!

Well I enjoyed the entire praising of the salad, and am so happy to be caught up again on your Disneymoon! I am so sorry to hear about your two ambulance trips, and I agree with Howard, that needs to stop!

Sorry to hear about the accident. Hope you're healed soon. Also-- I love beets as well... but I didn't know they had that salad... may have to try that. It looks delicious... and my husband doesn't like beets... so I know he won't steal any of it!

I've been completely neglectful of this trip report recently because I've just been SO busy! The school year really consumes my life, and I end up just wishing I had time to update and catch up on DIS. Alas, this TR will have to wait just a bit longer because today is the day that Howard and I go back to WDW for our Christmas trip! Yay! We will be there until the 29th and staying at Pop Century. Sadly, this will most likely be our last trip with our annual passes. It's the only reason we're able to go this time.

This is the first time I've had to work the day I'm leaving for vacation (we have a flight at 9:15 and will arrive at 11:57pm. I always get this slightly nauseous/slightly sick feeling probably from my nerves of traveling and leaving the safety of my home, so I'm sitting here wondering if I'm going to feel this way for the entire school day when I have to teach! I really hope not!

I will be tweeting and taking pictures on my phone while I'm there, so if you'd like to follow, I'm @loveandsushi on Twitter. Have a magical rest of the week and a wonderful Christmas!

Have a great trip Rachel! Can't wait to see your pictures even though I'm going to be completely jealous looking at them!

Hope you had a great trip! We thought we'd be able to go next year to WDW but we will have to stay close to home due to my hubby getting into Pharmacy School! Yay! We already made plans when he graduates we are joining the DVC!

I'm enjoying your TR, all of your food pictures are making me hungry! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I love taking pics of food, haha.

So sorry to hear about your family's accident. I'm so glad nobody got seriously injured. Thank God!

Hahaha, it's nice that you have something you love so much! I was that way with my Contempo cupcake. You love what you love and you want to share it with others! :goodvibes

Yeah, thankfully no one was seriously hurt. My mom has been dealing with a lot of pain lately though and is going to a physical therapist and chiropractor.

Sad news is that they changed part of how they do the beet salad! We found out during our Christmas trip.

Oh my goodness!! I am glad you all are all right!!!
I have been rear ended before and I do understand the (at times crippling) trepidation about driving again.
I will pray for your complete healing.

I hate beets!! Hate them!! Not a fan of walnuts either. But I do appreciate good, creamy goat cheese. :)

We always sit in the winter section. It was only during our most recent visit did I realize they were sectioned into the four seasons! :)

Thank God I was able to drive again after one day. I think it's just so upsetting that we had to deal with such a mess when we were all going out to eat as a family. My mom is also dealing with pain now, so that's a big inconvenience.

Haha, yeah, I don't really find many people who actually like beets! I do get people to try it though ... most of the time they still don't like it, haha.

The winter section is the greatest because it's nice and segregated. I hate the busyness of Sunshine Seasons during the peak hours!

The videos are great. Makes me feel like I am right there!

I would have to side with Howard on the beets. Yuck!

We like to sit in the 'out of the way' section, too. It is nice to be out of the crowd and chaos that the main section has.

Thanks! I tell myself to take more videos, but I also have to watch the time since I can only take up to 10 minutes at a time. I think when we have our own kiddos, I'm going to get a video camera so that I can take longer segments and not worry about it.

Haha, I really don't know many people who like beets! My mom does as does her dad, so I think that love of beets got passed down and no one else got it, haha.

I have to calm down when we eat, and I think being among a lot of people and the crowds makes it difficult for me to enjoy any meal. That's why I also love the upstairs of Columbia Harbour House!

Thanks for all your help and encouragement after the accident! I hate to hear that others had to deal with situations like this too, but at least I know that my fear is not something only I have dealt with. It helps to talk through it with others who understand.

I know I've said it before but I'm sorry about your trips to the hospital. Lets hope you are finished with them for a long time!

Can't say I've ever tried beets but your enthusiasm for them is exciting! And no, I didn't think I'd read a whole installment about a beet salad! :rotfl:

I really hope there are no hospital visits in 2013! I'm feeling sick again though, and Howard asked me if he needed to take me to the hospital, and I was like, "Nooo!"

Haha, I think you should at least try it once! That's what I tell people. And it's extremely healthy too. I can't guarantee that you'll like it though, haha.

I don't think anyone has ever talked about beets as much as you in that last installment (with the possible exception of Dwight Schrute from the Office- he runs his family's beet farm). I might have to look up some beet recipes!

No more trips to the hospital! I hope the family is recovering well!

YES, that's one way that I'm like Dwight, haha. I've never eaten a beet raw the way he has on the show though, haha.

My mom has been dealing with pain lately, so I feel so bad for her.

I have no idea how I missed out on the beginning of this TR, but here I am! I just got through all of your wedding photos, and oh my goodness, Rachel, you made a gorgeous bride! I'm subscribing, so hopefully it won't take me too long to get caught up!

Thank you! I'm so glad the wedding part is OVER. It just wasn't for me.

Delicious goat cheese salad pics:)

I got that salad before and I really liked it but I didn't get beets.

What exactly does a beet taste like?? Is it similar to any other veggie??

Um, I'm trying to think of what the beets remind me of, but I can't link it to anything else. I think you just have to try it, haha. It's delicious! To me, at least!

Well I enjoyed the entire praising of the salad, and am so happy to be caught up again on your Disneymoon! I am so sorry to hear about your two ambulance trips, and I agree with Howard, that needs to stop!

I agree that it just needs to stop! I am so tired of having to feel sick. It really puts a damper on day to day things! I'm either sick or recovering.

Sorry to hear about the accident. Hope you're healed soon. Also-- I love beets as well... but I didn't know they had that salad... may have to try that. It looks delicious... and my husband doesn't like beets... so I know he won't steal any of it!

Haha, yeah, my husband won't steal any of my salad either because he doesn't like beets OR goat cheese. It's definitely something worth trying especially if you love beets! Such a refreshing option to have at WDW.

Have a great trip Rachel! Can't wait to see your pictures even though I'm going to be completely jealous looking at them!

Thanks, Sarah! I wish it had a better ending with staying healthy, but the first 5 days were really fun!

I knew you had a trip coming up!
Have an awesome time!!!

Thank you! It'll probably be a while before I get to that trip report, haha.

Hope you had a great trip! We thought we'd be able to go next year to WDW but we will have to stay close to home due to my hubby getting into Pharmacy School! Yay! We already made plans when he graduates we are joining the DVC!

Yay for Pharmacy School! Congratulations to him! I think waiting for him to finish it to get DVC is an awesome reward! I think it's well worth the wait!

Salad Bar Dreams

It was late at this time of day so we were still taking it easy knowing we wouldn't be catching all the rides that we wanted to hit. We figured we'd ride Living with the Land since it was right there. Doesn't this pavilion seem like the perfect place to do homework? I know that's a random though, but it's so bright and cheerful in there!

3-LivingwiththeLand1.jpg

While on the short line, we thought it was pretty funny how these two young men walked up to the FP machines just to get FP for Living with the Land! We were like, huh? The line was really quick, but I guess they wanted it to be faster? Haha, it entertained me. Maybe they were thinking about eating first and were thinking the line would get longer? Either way, it was made even funnier by the fact that it was two young guys!

3-LivingwiththeLand2.jpg

You can see that there was a real bird that flew into the pavilion! It's on the floor , and you can see it in the picture right above the railing. Only in Disney do we get fascinated by real birds!

3-LivingwiththeLand3.jpg

Approaching the loading area!

3-LivingwiththeLand4.jpg

Ride vehicle! Seriously, it's my favorite thing along with ride tracks.

3-LivingwiththeLand5.jpg

We got seats in the front row, which meant fabulous views of the things in the ride and also a fabulous view of the track! I can watch that water all the time! I think the little sputtering is so entertaining.

3-LivingwiththeLand7.jpg

I remember riding this ride when I was younger and being slightly afraid of the first few scenes with the weather changes. I distinctly remember dreaming of this ride too, which might have upped my fears!

3-LivingwiththeLand9.jpg

The humongous bugs and such are a little creepy. I still always wonder what it's like to see these scenes from Garden Grill though.

3-LivingwiththeLand10.jpg

I start getting a little nervous once we get to this scene because I know what's coming up ...

3-LivingwiththeLand11.jpg

Oh no! There they are!

3-LivingwiththeLand12.jpg

Haha, as Howard gets more and more used to his camera, his picture of the buffalo get better (without flash, of course). I think his picture from our Christmas trip was really good. He was kind in not showing it to me though, haha.

3-LivingwiththeLand13.jpg

If it weren't for the buffalo right across the little river, I think it'd be awesome to live in this house. It's so much fun sitting in the front and seeing the boat trip the triggers that animate the chickens. At least that's what I THINK happens!

3-LivingwiththeLand14.jpg

VIDEO: Living with the Land I

The boat definitely triggers the switch thing that makes these doors rise though! Howard and I love watching it. If you ever sit in the front or near the front, you can watch this.

3-LivingwiththeLand15.jpg

Out in the warmth! It's so beautiful when the sun shines through. During Christmas, we rode at night, and it just seemed so odd!

3-LivingwiththeLand16.jpg

I wonder what it's like to work there as a CM. I think I'd really love it!

3-LivingwiththeLand17.jpg

(continued in next post)

(continued from previous post)

I did record this ride since we had prime seating. It's strange that when you're home, seeing pictures for this ride is not really that entertaining because it seems like it's just vegetables and fruit, but I stil always feel the need to film or photograph!

3-LivingwiththeLand18.jpg

VIDEO: Living with the Land II
(with my commentary during the ride with my heavy NY accent, which I notice when I watch other people's Disney videos and hear their accents, haha)

The sad thing is that when I took this picture in May, I was still super in love with pineapple. After the summer, I realized that I still love it, BUT I think I'm allergic! Howard and I bought a few pineapples, and I actually felt my throat close up a bit when I ate it! I didn't eat it the next day, and Howard did instead. I was just sitting next to him and I smelled the pineapple "fumes," and the same thing happened again! WHAT?! Since when am I allergic to pineapple? Apparently you can develop allergies later in life, which stinks big time because now I'm not sure if I should have the Dole Whip at least not until I see an allergist.

3-LivingwiththeLand19.jpg

Not allergic to fish though!

3-LivingwiththeLand20.jpg

That red is so distinct!

3-LivingwiththeLand24.jpg

I should eat more fish because it really helps with cholesterol. Before I had my gallbladder taken away and immediately after when I was still on an extremely low fat diet, I ate a lot of fish and felt much better than when I ate more meat (and I don't even eat that much meat in the first place!). Fish is just really easy to digest.

3-LivingwiththeLand25.jpg

RED!

3-LivingwiththeLand26.jpg

I have never eat alligator before, but they have it a lot on the cooking channel or travel channel shows I watch, haha. I get kind of intrigued, but at the same time, when they fry anything, it just seems good! Of course, that doesn't fit with my lower fat diet!

3-LivingwiththeLand27.jpg

I am, however, sometimes allergic to shrimp. I still eat it anyway. It's not a "throat-closes-up" deal, but a "I-have-a-few-hives" kind of deal. I usually get them around my jawline, but shrimp is just so tasty! Yum, now I'm thinking of the shrimp from 'Ohana!

3-LivingwiththeLand28.jpg

Back out into the warmth!

3-LivingwiththeLand26.jpg

Howard loves sunflower seeds! I'm not that big of a fan. He likes those and especially pumpkin seeds.

3-LivingwiththeLand27.jpg

Mickeys! I remember the first time I saw this; I was so in shock! It was before I actually started looking at Hidden Mickey info so I saw this on my own.

3-LivingwiththeLand28.jpg

I LOVE homegrown tomatoes. I could eat a million of them! Thankfully, Howard's parents grow them (my mom used to when I was younger), so we get bags of them during the right season! They are absolutely delicious to just eat as a snack! They're even taster cut up and mixed with lightly grilled onions and avocado for a very homemade guacamole.

3-LivingwiththeLand29.jpg

More track!

3-LivingwiththeLand30.jpg

By this point of the ride, I know I don't focus as much. I think it'd be interesting to see these things during the Behind the Seeds tour though to get a more up close and personal view.

3-LivingwiththeLand31.jpg

We get excited when we actually see people working in there.

3-LivingwiththeLand32.jpg

Back into the tunnels!

3-LivingwiththeLand33.jpg

Track!

3-LivingwiththeLand34.jpg

As a kid, getting scooted up on the conveyor belt part of the loading and unloading is super fun! I think "it's a small world" has the best one.

3-LivingwiththeLand35.jpg

The concept of rides just fascinates me because you sit in a vehicle that goes on a track on its own and then spits you back out!

3-LivingwiththeLand36.jpg

Love that these boats have the little canopy above them too.

3-LivingwiththeLand37.jpg

Hope you enjoyed the quick trip through Living with the Land!

Weak Sauce Points

Hopefully an easy Cropped for ya! Big hint is that it'll be part of my next installment!

Round 23

Imagination11-1.jpg

Where was this pictures taken? Remember, only guess per person and no edting responses. Good luck!

I totally agree that The Land would be a great place to hang out and do homework. Even though it is large and can be loud and crowded, it hut seems homey to me!

My husband is also allergic to pineapples. He can eat canned pineapples, though. Just not fresh pineapples. We also found out that he's allergic to persimmons, too.

Love your Living with the Land tour! It always amazes me that it has a Fastpass to begin with!

I have no idea where that picture is from! Looks like something from Hollywood Studios though.

It kinda hints at a college cafeteria or atrium or something. Maybe that's why I thought that! But it does seem like a great hangout place because it's so bright in some areas but also a little quieter in some sections like winter. Those windows are just perfect!

My husband is also allergic to pineapples. He can eat canned pineapples, though. Just not fresh pineapples. We also found out that he's allergic to persimmons, too.

Ooo, I haven't tried canned yet. We do have one in the pantry because I wanted to put it on a homemade pizza, but I didn't risk it last time. I'm really hoping that I'm just allergic to extremely ripe pineapple since I get hives with overripe cantaloupe and such too. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't have a Dole Whip again!

Isn't it strange that there's FP for this and just a short distance away there's FP for a ride like Soarin'? Haha.
