My cat has a lump on his neck. He was treated with an antibiotic at the end of July and the lump went away. About a week later it appeared to be back. I called my vet and they put him on a new antibiotic which wasn't as strong as the first. It did not get rid of the lump but the lump did not get any larger. Once we finished that antibiotic it started growing again. It is about the size of a quarter...what should i do?

Did your vet aspirate the mass? this is where they put a needle in the mass to suck out cells, then look at it under a microscope to see what it is. They should not be sending you home with antibiotics if they don't know what the mass is.

I am so sorry to read about your poor kitty :(

I agree that the lump should be surgically examined and biopsied. Is the lump on the back of his neck?

Try to think that you would do if you had a lump on your neck and antibiotics were not helping?

Good Luck!

I agree 150% - could be anything from an ingrown hair to a tumour as a result of vaccination.

Good luck, and keep us up to date.

I doubt the OP will keep us up to date. She posted this in August and it was her one and only post:confused3
