Christmas Eve is with family at my parents - mostly appetizers:
shrimp cocktail
crab cakes
rolled/stuffed eggplant
bruschetta
sausage frittata/potato frittata
bread soup (italian poor man's soup
)
caprese salad
some type of pasta
meatballs
sauteed spinach/garlic dish (no idea why, but we have it every year)
assorted Christmas cookies
wine/limoncello/brandy
Christmas day is me and my boyfriend:
breakfast - caramel pecan rolls (bought at local bakery)
I'm thinking of making a potato pizza for light dinner - flatbread, olive oil, rosemary, thinly sliced potatoes and other ingredients - have to find exact recipe. Possibly this one -
http://www.cookingchanneltv.com/recipes/nadia-g/potato-pizza-recipe/index.html But I will use flatbread that I buy!! - the point is for this to be easy.
And then just some kind of fancy schmancy salad with it.
Wine, no dessert, I don't really eat it at home.
New Year's Eve - no idea what we're doing yet.
New Year's Day - go out to eat for huge family dinner. Tradition for 30 something years.
