Tales of the Amazing Expandable Stomach: Complete!

Loving your reviews :)

We are big fans of the food court at POR - especially the make your own pasta but we've never tried Boatwrights and it sounds awesome (I wold happily make a meal out of corn bread)

Great reviews so far....I love POR...one of my favorites Mods.

Jill in CO
Thank you! I absolutely love the themeing at POR:lovestruc

You should try it. I could have easily just eaten the corn bread for dinner...it was that good! :goodvibes

Our next stop was lunch at La Cantina de San Angel. This was a great choice. T ate here last year and loved it and I was in the mood for Mexican food.

We both had the Nachos.

100_0581.jpg

Yummmmmm…I so could go for this right now. It was a cheesy gooey messy delight! So unhealthy but oh-so good. The tomatoes were fresh, the chips crisp, and the cheese sauce...:lovestruc Keep the peppers off if you don’t like spicy.

The churros were really hot and crispy with a soft center and were great with the caramel dipping sauce.

Next: Breakfast and Universal Studios food

YUM!! Those nachos look fantastic and so do the churros! I've never tried the churros at WDW and I can't figure out why. These are definitely on the list now for my next trip (it's becoming quite the long list! :lmao:)

Lovin the review! Can't wait to see more!!!
Thank you! It is fun to share all these yummy meals with you guys :goodvibes

Oh those Churros look sooooo good
I never really considered myself a churro fan, but these were really good!

I know what you mean! My must-try-list is always so long. You'd think in a 12 day trip I would've been able to try them all....nope  There are just too many yummy options!!

We stopped at the food court for breakfast before heading out to catch a cab to Universal.

Both of us grabbed the bounty platter.

IMAG0868.jpg

I love the eggs on this thing and the Mickey waffle is of course great, but my favorite piece is the biscuit. Warm flakey and so soft. :lovestruc The bacon and sausage are ick though IMO

Each prior visit to the WWoHP we’d grabbed a pumpkin juice and really enjoyed them, but this time we changed it up a tried a frozen butterbeer.

IMAG0878.jpg

Whoa Nelly! This was stinkin awesome. I absolutely loved it. The creamy froth on top tasted like butterscotch and was a really fun texture. I ended up mixing it up with the ice and was…:cloud9: I really didn’t think I’d like this drink either, so if you’re in the area and undecided…try it!

Later we each had a soft pretzel.

IMAG0885.jpg

Warm and satisfying

Margaritaville was the place for dinner. I love this restaurant. The vibe is fun and it has my favorite drink on the planet...

Havana Banana

IMAG0886.jpg

:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc This thing is AMAZING!

T chose the Club Sandwich for dinner

IMAG0888.jpg

She was just 'eh' over this.

I had the House Cheese Burger

IMAG0887.jpg

Very good, though not as amazing as Raglan Road's

Haunted Horror Nights is crazy fun. It was pretty crowded, but we got everything in and had a blast! If you like Halloween festivities, you have to try it!!

Up next: House of Blues and 3D-DD

We went to Downtown Disney to see a movie and planned on eating at any of the restaurants. We ended up eating at the House of Blues and were seated right away. I loved the ceiling in there…it is so cool!

I chose the Classic Club - sourdough bread, spicy chipotle mayo, black forest ham, oven roasted turkey, applewood bacon, lettuce, tomato and cheddar cheese

IMAG0894.jpg

Not so great. The cheddar cheese was very strong and overpowered the whole sandwich.

T had the Island Turkey Burger - seasoned with Jamaican spices topped with cheddar cheese on a chipotle mayo brushed potato bun, served with crispy field greens and sliced roma tomatoes

IMAG0893.jpg

She loved this. Her only complaint was that it was super messy to eat. The fries were good on both plates.

For dessert we both had the Triple Chocolate Cheesecake

IMAG0895.jpg

Light and creamy and though very good I prefer my cheesecake more dense.

The 3D Dessert Party at Epcot was a birthday present for T. It was located in a pavilion behind Canada. It was so pretty inside, especially the chandeliers, and there was a live band performing popular songs with sweet themes.

100_0592.jpg

There were sweet stations and savory stations set up throughout the room and plenty of drink selections. Most everything was very good. My favorites were surprisingly the breads from the savory station and T loved the roast beef shavings.

100_0593.jpg

The best dessert was a vanilla cupcake with raspberry filling but the chocolate peanut butter fudge was a close second.

100_0594.jpg

100_0595.jpg

A fun night! It was very windy so illuminations was cancelled (no special viewing with the 3D glasses) but they extended the party by another 45 minutes.

I’m glad we tried this - it was a fun experience, but I would not do it again. Way too overpriced since neither of us are big drinkers, and we actually enjoyed the wishes desert party more in 2011.

Next: Yak & Yeti

Yak and Yeti is our go-to Animal Kingdom Restaurant. The theme and decor in this is my favorite... so unique!
We were seated upstairs near a window. If you are lucky enough to snag a window seat you’d have a great view for people watching.

We both actually chose the same entrée and dessert.

Shrimp lo mien

100_0601.jpg

This is really great. The veggies are fresh and crisp and the shrimp is so yummy. It is a huge heaping plate and each bite is delicious!

New York Cheesecake - New York cheesecake, mango and strawberry coulis, and fresh whipped cream

100_0602.jpg

This is a very good cheesecake. Dense yet creamy.

100_0598.jpg

IMAG0897.jpg

I really meant to try one of these cupcakes this year but just didn’t get the chance. Don’t they look good!?

Up next the best meal of my entire life….REALLY! :cheer2:

I'm loving this, and I can't wait to read about the best meal of your life!

But why didn't you have the wontons???? :D

I'm loving this, and I can't wait to read about the best meal of your life!

But why didn't you have the wontons???? :D
You know, I had them last year and, though I love cream cheese, I just didn't find them as amazing as everyone else...they are very good though and I'd get them again. Next time! :goodvibes

Ooh, where is the best meal of your life ??!! :)

Here it comes.....!

So sorry for the delay in updates!!! I was just building suspense for the best meal ever…yeah that’s it…

Anyhoo….this was our first time trying the Flying Fish Café. We checked in and then headed back outside to watch the boardwalk magician. Cute show!

I really was not sure what I was going to get here. I was torn between the red snapper and the chef’s special…BUT... lucky Dsis wanted the special, so decision made...

IMAG0909.jpg

Holy freaking cow is all I have to say….I could not believe how delicious this was.:cloud9::love: I ate every last scrap off my plate and barely restrained myself from licking it! The fish was so tasty and the potato skin wrap around it was perfect. I don’t know what exactly the noodles under the fish were, but they tasted like my gram’s cabbage and noodles, so flavorful and light. Wow. This absolutely is the best thing I have ever eaten, and I am going to have to go to FF from now on to get it!!

The chefs special was crazy good that day too (I see it has since changed)

IMAG0908.jpg

The shrimp scampi was buttery and delish; the crab mousse thing in the back was fried and delightful. I can’ remember what type of fish was on the plate but it was really good.

For dessert dsis had the banana napoleon

IMAG0910.jpg

Now you may remember her love affair with bananas…well this was a huge success. I’m actually sorry I didn’t get this too. It was so light and flavorful…a banana lover’s dream

I had the chocolate trio

IMAG0911.jpg

The mouse was rich and delicious. The salted caramel was great, but the profiterole was ICK I wouldn’t get this again, but the mouse was very good.

All in all an amazing meal. If you are on the fence regarding flying fish I hope I have just pushed you off…So worth the 2 credits on the DP

Next: Le Cellier

Le Cellier is Dsis's favorite restaurant. We’ve been there a few times now and it’s been consistently good. This was our last time eating here as a 1TS credit for lunch.

I’d had the house burger before and loved it. So, since this may have been my last chance…

IMAG0916.jpg

It was very good, especially the BBQ sauce, but the burger at Raglan Road just set a new standard for me…none can compare. The chips were tasty, and I love the onion strings.

Strawberry milkshake

IMAG0914.jpg

Love this thing! :lovestruc

The pretzel bread was great as always, but I miss the EPCOT ball shaped butter!!

IMAG0915.jpg

Dsis always gets the NY strip

IMAG0917.jpg

As delish as she remembered, but she was disappointed in the mashed potatoes. Just "OK". She loved the au gratin potatoes that used to come with this dish so I don't think anything would have been good as a replacement; she loved those things!

So here it is…the Best crème Brule in the ‘world’

IMAG0919.jpg

I can’t get over how much I love this. It is served warm, and is soft and creamy with a hint of maple flavor. Really really delicious. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Dsis had her staple moose

IMAG0918.jpg

Never a miss

I’m curious what the new 2 credit lunch menu will look like....

Starring Rolls has been our go to counter service at Hollywood studios and not just because of the cupcakes!! The sandwiches are really good.

I always get the turkey which has a hunk of mozzarella cheese and loads of fresh juicy turkey

100_0613.jpg

I was so disappointed this time. The bread was stale :sad1: Such a disappointment, but I just put it to the side…everything else was good.

Dsis had a ham sandwich

100_0612.jpg

Her bread was fine, but she said she likes the turkey better. (I think the green stuff was too much for her) ;)

Chocolate Peanut butter cupcake

100_0615.jpg

This thing is so decadent and delicious!! Love it!! The peanut butter frosting is :cloud9: and there's a blob of it in the middle of the cupcake too!

The banana child had the banana split

100_0609.jpg

This has changed since she last had it...still good, but the original tasted better in her opinion.

Here's the pizza we had from the food court the night before.

IMAG0890.jpg

Now I know its not up to your local pizza shop standard, but I think its good. We had a movie night and it was perfect.

IMAG0889.jpg

These things are so cute and look so good, but to me it was

Ohana dinner is a must do for me!! Its kinda dim in that restaurant though, so I didnt get any pics.

I absolutely adore the lo-mien noodles and the broccoli. I would go there just for a plateful of that! The shrimp was great but I have to say this time the chicken blew me away. So juicy and flavorful. Wow. The pork was not good at all and I didnt like the steak...too chewy.

I didnt have any of the chicken wings but Dsis said they were very good also, and the pot stickers are consistently tasty. Dsis's favorite part of the meal was the salad, and even though she doesnt like pineapple, she liked the bread too. ( I love pineapples and it!)

The pacing of the meal was perfect for us. We did get a lot of our items around the same time but that way you can pick and choose what you want on your plate. And finally, dont forget dessert. The bread pudding - it is to DIE for people. :woohoo: If you have not yet tried this dessert you are seriously missing out!!

Columbia Harbor House is a great CS in the MK.

We both got the shrimp basket.

100_0621.jpg

Filled with juicy, lightly breaded shrimp. Really great.

I also love the apple blossom. It is one of my favorite desserts in the world. So good!! (though admittedly I am a pie person to begin with)

100_0623.jpg

Yum!

And of course don't forget to pick up this little guy...

IMAG0925.jpg

The first time I had a dole whip I had the pineapple float with pineapple dole...it was good...but this time I had pineapple vanilla swirl. Woah!!! This made a huge difference. This was crazy good. I absolutely loved it!!! The moral of the story...play around with those choices and you will find your dole-match.

Great reviews! I'm very anxious to see how the menu at Le Cellier changes in January. We don't have an ADR there yet but that may change with the new menu.

Oh! And I can't wait to try a dole whip float! I usually just get the pineapple vanilla swirl but I think this time I'm going to try a float :thumbsup2

I love that apple dessert too. First had it at the Turf Club at SSR. Have since found it in the frozen dessert section at Walmart and they are pretty similar...bake them up and add ice cream. Delicious!

Yum! I loved reading your review. It makes me want to book my trip right now! I need to make Yak and Yeti a must on my next trip.
