Not planned to shut down until the first of the year.

Was down there the week of Halloween and it was closed sporadically quite a bit throughout the week.....as was Thunder Mtn and Pirates.

It is not supposed to be closed until January 2 through March 19. I have read quite a few posts about people getting stuck on Splash Mountain lately and it being closed occasionally. Guess it really needs the maintenance/rehab that it is scheduled for and TLC.

It is probably a combination of the ride needing some work done, and idiots. I've been at WDW before when they had to close a ride because someone tried to stand while the ride was in motion.

So true, then it takes a while to reopen the ride.

It was down for technical difficulties. We rode it about an hour ago.

We just got back. We rode it yesterday morning, and last Friday. Did notice some things were not working like the arching water, and the birds at the end seemed arched back. We had a great time! Hit and miss until refurbish I think. Rickedy or not, its still a magical ride for us!

While I am not sure if anyone on this thread was offended or not, I am like you, it did sound like they were, why else would they even mention it. I have found that there are some people here that like to correct people even though it is obvious they understand what others post. To each there own.
