So I talked with somebody from Guest Relations yesterday about my email concerning the hassles at Caribbean Beach Resort and nothing happened. I rehashed everything for her and that was it. She apologized and the conversation was over. Really??? I paid long distance for that??? Oh well.

Did you have travel insurance? What exactly was the issue at CBR? Is it something that your travel insurance can help you with?:sad2:

We had an issue at Pop Century the day before we sailed.

Once we arrived home my DH called Disney (not sure exactly what number now, but yes, it was long distance as we live in Canada also) He was passed to 3 different people and they were all 'apologetic'.

I finally emailed this address with our story of what happened.
wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com

I had someone from Disney call me a couple of days later! The gentlemen on the phone was very nice and honestly seemed genuinely interested in what happened and agreed that someone dropped the ball at Pop Century.
Anyway, he offered us $100 reimbursed onto our credit card we used there.

Is that the email address you sent your letter to? If not, maybe worth a try for a better response?

Yes that's the department the lady I spoke to was with. She seemed useless really. She apologized profusely and said the issue will be sent to CBR management so that the problem could be resolved. How can you resolve an issue or poor bussing and useless front desk staff who's apparently a "manager"??? I said it before and I'll say it again I HATE CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT, I will never set foot on that property again. I don't need any compensation from travel insurance since Westjet was great about finding me another seat the day at no charge. It's just the fact that I felt I was treated poorly and was treated as a second class citizen since I wasn't travelling with a spouse/children.

I'm glad to hear that they were able to comp you at least something. Sounds like others weren't so lucky. Personally, we've been lucky and always had smooth sailing at all WDW resorts and DL resorts as well. Early check in, welcome balloons and autographed pics of characters at Check-In.... First class from POR to the Grand Californian. Hope that your next stay goes great and you feel the Disney magic.....

Besides those of you that are on my current sailing on 10/20/13, has anyone else booked a future cruise with their 25% discount?
Where are you all headed?? : )

We saved ours for a 2014 booking. DCL tried to apply it to the two 4-nights we booked for next November but we had our travel agent call and get that reversed ... who wants to waste 25% on a 4-night cruise? :rotfl2:

We are hoping for a southern itinerary with some new ports of call .... if not we may just book another Eastern because that is one of our favorite itineraries. Or we may splurge on Europe if DCL is there in 2014.

Sounds like a plan! I dream of a Med itinerary..... But DH wants to do a land trip for our first visit to Europe. And we can use our DVC points to stay at an Italian Villa for a week ..... So that's a substantial savings for us. Flight, food and spending.... We'll be saying "Ciao" to Italy hopefully very soon...

I heartily approve of your future vacation plans! :lmao:

I never did read the fine print on the offer of 25%. When do you have to book, and when do you have to sail? I recall something about December, not sure which year. :) TIA

We are undecided currently. We have not booked any future sailing. I am leaning toward the new NCL ships, reluctantly though due to the atmosphere, decor, and service we received from DCL. It would be difficult to match. In addition, the new NCL ships are priced at, or above, the DCL prices. Perhaps we will go for the NCl Epic which is more reasonably priced. Always wanted to try the toilet bowl slide. :lmao:

Only twice have we ever repeated a similar location/venue for vacation. Our motto, "been there done that," however we did miss CC so .... with the 25% off it actually is the same price for the NCL Epic or another Fantasy. Plus I have young ones that loved the DCL clubs. Who knows what NCL holds?
Tough call for me.

I really enjoyed the decor on the Fantasy. This was/is a major factor for me. The Epic looks painful from most photos. :lmao: However the new NCL ships looks much more comfortable to the eye, albeit artist conceptions.

Then again we do have Xmas and the IRS ahead in line. Revenue is down, expenses up. :scared1: So perhaps we will end up on a local beach. :( But I can still dream and plan. ;)

Best Wishes to All & Happy Thanksgiving :goodvibes

If I remember correctly, you had to use it by 12/31/2014, don't recall if you have to sail by then or just book by that date. The only restriction I think was that it couldn't be used on holiday sailings.

the other restriction is that it is only good for 7-nights or fewer ... no good for a repositioning cruise, unfortunately. Still, 25% off is pretty generous so we'll take it! :thumbsup2

here's hoping we run into each other again on a future cruise ... beer lovers of the world unite!! :goodvibes

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Ditto! Happy Thanksgiving to you and the Husband and everyone else!

Anyone going out shopping tonight? Kristie and I usually do, but there's really nothing we need this year.

For those that are, be safe.

Not here..... We had our Christmas in October! LOL
But seriously, there's nothing we need either. Ditto on the safety part. It's gonna get crazy out there!

Shopping --- NOOOO! We wait till Dec. 22 to shop. :lmao:

Just noticed a $72.00 refund on my Amex from DCL, posted 10/30. Are there port charges for CC? This must be what this credit is for.

It's for port charges for CC- correct. Since it's a part of the Bahamas there's port fees for it.

We are having an issue redeeming our 25% discount and were wondering if someone out there knew more about it.
We tried to book a DVC week at WDW for May using the discount, but were told we can't because we didn't book the Fantasy hurricane Sandy cruise with our points.
